Tyr took a sip from her cup, relishing the taste of the jocal juice that was contained within. It was all that was left of her demolished breakfast. She had eaten quite a few soft boiled eggs, some richly flavored sausages, and a pile of hashbrowns that was filled with all sorts of local peppers and veggies. It was her third cup of the fruit nectar, and it was really good. It was just sweet enough to mix and dilute the sour of her natural temper. It didn't hold a candle to getting drunk though. In an establishment such as this, they wouldn't sell to people of her age, but that was alright. She was sure she could find someone in the market that was gullible enough for her to spin a tale of getting drink for her father, or some such B.S. like that. She tipped back the glass, until the rest of the juice disappeared down her throat. She stood then, and rummaged through the small coin purse that was attached to her waistband.
It was a healthy tip that Tyr left behind on the table. She could afford to tip, because she had just completed her little job yesterday, and she had twice again the funds that she demanded on taking the job, waiting for her back in Daika. It was one of those paltry revenge jobs. So and so killed my father in the wars, and I've made a tidy living ever since as a merchant. But I'm too much of a wuss to go and take revenge myself, so I'll give you a ridiculous amount of money to travel to Akaika to avenge his soul. Most of the time it's just some hapless soldier that happened to kill the wrong person. Sometimes though it was a noble or someone of importance. She hadn't gotten any of the latter yet, but she was trying for the job of a lifetime, no beans to date though. It was a pretty straightforward kill this time. It only took a single steel bearing and a good line of sight.
She had found the requirements quite easily on a rooftop overlooking the market. it only took a little power to cut the ties of the bearing to the world, and replace them with the back of the man's head. then all that needs be done, if far enough away is let go of the bearing, and like clockwork, the bearing flies true, as if it were falling to earth. It made quite the impression on the man, and was probably still lodged somewhere inside his crushed skull. The bearing looked just like a musket shot, though of steel instead of iron or lead, and she had reversed the pull of her power just at the last instant, just before it scrambled the man's mind. There should be no problems in this town for her. There was no 'murder weapon' to link her to the man, and who in their right mind would think a kid of her cuteness to be capable of such a terrible act. The only problem may be that she is from Daika.
Yeah she was born in that kingdom but she thought of herself more as a loner, a citizen of the kingdom she was currently in. She really didn't owe her allegiance to anyone in particular, and her buisness was quite lucrative. Back and forth she would travel, from Daika to here on a job, and she would almost always find another revenge job here to go to Daika. It was pretty simple, and even the most inbred merchant could understand this type of buisness. Supply and Demand. And there seemed to never be a lack of demand in the two kindoms. Yeah there was a 'Peace Treaty' but this was all personal revenge, and she doubted she would take any jobs that were too political in nature. That would be a great way to get herself killed, and in a hurry. The jobs she took were a good enough living as they were, but some lesser noble job would probably set her up for life.
She had started demanding one third of the job's reward, plus travel and living expenses up front, since her second job, when her employer tried to stiff her. That particular merchant won't be stiffing anyone on the company payroll again. She would ask for the money that was to be given up front in the local currency of the job, then the rest whenever she got back. It was a good policy, and had allowed her to live like a royal ever since her third job last year. She could even afford to ride as a passenger on either a pilgrimage caravan or with a merchant for the trip to the job's location. It worked for her, and she got to kill someone eventually. She liked her job. Alot.
Tyr shook her head, clearing away the vagrant thoughts. She had been walking and thinking, and even in this city that may be dangerous. She patted her hand on her purse to make sure it was still there, which it was, and continued walking. While thinking she had only made it a couple blocks from the Inn where she was staying, and still had a ways to go till she reached the market. She made her way slowly through the city, she didn't want just the trip to tire her legs out, so it was more of a stroll than a purposeful walk. Though if anyone said anything about her short legs, she would be apt to take them in an ally and dismember them slowly and painfully. It was her way, her psychosis, that would do that more than anything. If she thought someone was making fun of her, they were prone to be in the ground a couple days later, if they could be identified that is.
She had finally reached the main thoroughfare of the market, making her way to a spirits shop. She told her B.S. story of shopping for her father, and walked out with three big bottles of the strongest alcohol in the shop. Those were wrapped in silk before being put in the big bag she had taken with her to shop. From there, she looked in quite a few shops and stalls, not really buying anything, until she had found a black leather collar, without studs or spikes in it. It wasn't a slave collar so she bought it and replaced the silk one that she had been wearing, and that had started to tear in the back. This one should last quite a while for her. After that she kept walking, into random shops just looking at their wares, buying a few small trinkets here and there as she went.

The morning sun glared down, hinting good weather. Lead stretched and yawned on the roof of an inn. He had traveled the whole day before to Tochigi for two reasons. One, there were many stupid people with stuffed wallets. Those coins and wads of bills were to Leaf as fat sheep were to a hungry wolf. Pickpocketing alone would net him a small fortune. The second reason, however, was to escape the law enforcers of Sanchu. During his stay there, Leaf had foolishly and unknowingly loitered around his own wanted poster. It was only by luck and good strategy that he had escaped the sharp eyes of bounty hunters and the vast forces of the military. Not to mention slipping past customs.
Leaf was exhausted but he knew he couldn't stay on the roof forever. He quietly slipped down and looked around for dropped coins. Breakfast was a must and it wasn't cheap to get a good one in a big city like this. Life was hard when all you got was only what you could take. But Leaf wasn't your average lowly pickpocket, he was one of the masters of the thieving world, not to mention a part time bounty hunter.
No matter how hard he looked in the alleyways, however, the money Leaf managed to gather was scarcely enough for a slice of bread. Even though it was morning and the streets were generally empty, it was still a risk to expose himself without a disguise. Leaf bit his lip and shuffled out a bit, peering down the street. It wasn't that early anymore and there was quite a few people minding their own business out there. A soldier seemed to notice him, but Leaf knew that he was too far away to be seen clearly. However, once the man began making his way over, Leaf drew back and snatched up a pebble and with an expert toss, smacked the soldier square in the forehead. The armed man was knocked out and a small throng gathered around him, jabbering away. Whatever they were saying, Leaf didn't want to know and he picked up his feet and ran away.
Leaf didn't know where he was going. He passed through several alleys and between a few (probably illegal) trades. Leaf just kept running and running and right when he left an alleyway, he found himself in the Tochigi market. Glancing around, Leaf's eyes sparkled. The fat wallets and registers and other various baubles and beauties seemed to be beckoning him.. All these would be worth the tiring trip here. Plus, maybe he could pick up a couple of friends. Leaf hadn't had the time to talk to anyone lately and it had been getting to him. Sure, these friendships and other positive relationships weren't going to last, but it would be nice to have a conversation... Even if it was full of lies.
Ah, but first, breakfast.

Tyr's skirt fluttered as she had to make a dance step around a man that was obviously, to her at least, in la la land. At the time of her approach he seemed to be ogling some of the merchants and those with grossly distended and bulging wallets and money pouches on their hips. Her hair twirled at the same time as her skirt did, making the silken length brush along his shoulder as she passed, and luckily it was the only thing that touched as she spun past him. If any more had touched, she was pretty sure there would have been a nice brawl started in the middle of the market, her being directly in the center, pummeling him with her skull adorned leather gloved fists.
" Watch where I'm going buddy!" She exclaimed when she was past him. Her skirt was still settling by the time the last word escaped her lips. She had a feral grin on her face, which lit up her entire face with a bloodthirsty glow. He was pretty cute, in her opinion, but that wouldn't have saved him if she had walked into him. Yeah it would have mostly been her fault, but insanity doesn't ever see it that way of course. No, insanity, and her tightly wound rage would naturally make it completely his fault. Which would put her in the right to make him bleed. She continued to walk away, just waiting for a snide response or comment which would turn her right around, ready to swing. She was used to people who thought they could say anything they wanted because she was young, short, and a girl. Most of those still had regular visits from doctors or healers.
Even before she was a few steps from the man, she couldn't help thinking about him. She had already admitted to herself that he was cute. Tall, kinda scruffy, but in his eyes she had seen the same feral aspect that lived inside her. She wondered if he was in the same kind of business. Nah... Couldn't be. He was probably just some random street ruffian that she almost ran face first into. There was no way he could possibly be a kindred spirit, someone of her own caste. She put him out of her mind, no easy task to say the least. She was a growing woman, and a pretty face sometimes likes to stick in her head. So, to force it out, she started thinking of her next job.
She had been in town one day too many. She liked to line up her next job and leave the day after her current job was complete. This time, it was just too easy. The guy was always out in the open, and well, she hated missing opportunities to kill someone, so she had only been in town for a single night, killed him the second day, and well today is today. She hadn't had time to set up her next job or her departure plans, but she was pretty sure that things would start rolling, like they usually... No, allways did. She thought of possible employers, she had gotten a lot of the info on the war, who died where, and where their families were from, but she had left that in a small cottage on the edge of the Klisha desert, where she made her home. She was already four steps away, still awaiting a sarcastic or another annoying remark, and his image persisted in her head, especially the eyes.

Leaf was enjoying the view of the market, full of valuables, when a girl came toward him. He was about of sidestep her when he caught sight of her purse and sweet face. As she gracefully spun around him, Leaf's hands went crazy. Quickly and quietly, he had changed the person in possesion of that purse. From her to him. Leaf heard her comment, and was a bit irked, but raising a racket in a crowded place would not be ideal for himself. Especially after a narrow escape.
But anyway, Leaf wasn't going to just steal from her and leave it at that. He wasn't the type to steal from a younger woman when there was vast sums of wealth ahead. "Miss, I believe that this is yours?" Leaf said while slowly turning to face her, the purse held next to his head. He narrowed his eyes and gave a gentle smile. "Shouldn't you be more careful where you put your things?" Just as he was going to walk up to her and give it back, he caught a thin scent of blood from the purse. Leaf's wolf senses tingled a bit. It had already jumped to conclusions that this girl was a predator. But, nevertheless, he had to act the gentleman to the end (though it isn't very gentlemanly to steal from another anyway) and he walked up to her.

Tyr stopped dead, and her eyes closed, smile quickly fading. She knew that he would feel the tug of the purse, it was quite literally attracted to her. It wouldn't be heavy, not in the direction of the ground, but the pull of the purse would still be the exact weight of the purse and it's contents. She felt the same tug, in the direction of the purse, and knew after those few steps that it was missing, she didn't feel it's weight against her. The purse couldn't just be dropped, because it wasn't connected to the world anymore. It was connected to her and only her because of her power. He stole it. She knew it, and the fact that she didn't feel it until she felt the slight tug, meant he was good at what he did. He wasn't a ruffian, he was a thief, and maybe cutpurse.
Tyr turned, holding out her hand for the purse, palm upward, and fingers slightly curled, showing perfectly shaped and painted fingernails. Her fingernails were painted a deep black color, and when they curled upward slightly the purse lifted, tilting toward her instead of hanging downward. The pull doubled, and now it felt as if there were twice as many coins held within, then three times as many, the pull still continuing to increase. If he were to let go of the purse it would surely go flying directly at her outstretched hand. Her eyes opened slowly, the crimson pupils nearly glowing with an insane and angry light while he walked toward her. By now he would more than likely be nearly pulled by the weight of the small satchel of money he had lifted from her belt.
Somehow she pushed back the rage that she felt being robbed in plain daylight, just after breakfast, no less. There were only two reasons that she was able to do that, and the first was because he didn't seem to be mocking in the smallest degree. The second... Well he was cute enough for her to not really want to maim him. The insanity that was roosting just below her eyes receded just a little. With that contraint her face softened a slight bit, from someone who was definately going to kill you, to someone who only might kill you. She really didn't get any softer than that at any time, and anyone who knew her could say that whoever had seen the first look, was lucky to see anything after that, let alone the softer side of her.
He was quite lucky he intended to return the purse even before she felt it's absence, or there would be no redemption for him. As it stood though, she had a handle on her rage, and was able to cut the ties of the purse to her, and reestablish those to the ground, giving it back it's normal gravity. The purse jingled as it swung downward to a more natural position, all the silver and gold coins striking each other around the pinned clip of bills that made the central core of the small bag. This was nowhere near the total sum of her money. She was smart enough to know there were people like him in every single place where people gathered, doesn't matter if the people in a city are generally good or not, there's always the one, and it seems like her power pulls them to her for some unfathomable reason.
The scent of blood wafted even stronger from the gloves she was wearing. There is no true way to get out that smell when something has been soaked completely in someone's blood, no matter how hard you wash them each time. At least, not from someone who has a preternaturally strong sense of smell. It must have transferred from the gloves to the purse, as they would touch and rub each time she took coins from the latter. You've got that right, it's mine." She said, in a voice that was only somewhat angry. " And... Actually that's the best place to put it.. because then I get to pummel would be thieves on a regular basis. You know... It's bad luck to steal from a girl, right?" She said, her grin returning quickly. As long as her money returned she was much less inclined to do anything, just this once.

The purse seemed to tug at the girl more and more as Leaf held onto it. He had never been good at holding up heavy things and his arm dropped toward the girl. She seemed a bit ticked off to him and obviously wanted her purse back. I wonder how she does that? He wondered. Bah. I guess all kinds of people exist here. Suddenly, the pull stopped and the purse seemed to get much lighter in his hand and it seemed to droop down more naturally.
"Of course, ma'am. I never intended to keep it." He grinned as he dropped the purse back into its owner's hand. "Bad luck? I think not. However, stealing from a pretty girl like you would be a crime." Leaf smiled. "But I hope you won't pummel this thief for I am a genuine one." He eyed the small crowd gathering and decided it wasn't a good idea to say more. If he wanted to go sit in jail for more than a few years, he would've gone ahead already and walked down the street with his own wanted poster taped to him.
Leaf started backing out of the market slowly. "Can't say anymore here, but I'm definitely not the average pickpocket." And you're not the average girl either... She reeks of blood... Which reminds me, I'm hungry. Leaf's stomach cooperated with the thought and let out a rumble. He quickly ran out of the market and while he was at it, a couple of unimportant passerbys lost their wallets.

Tyr arched a delicate eyebrow upward as he spoke. Ma'am? In her mind that word was only to be used to indicate an old, decrepit hag. She was quite shocked that he had the audacity to call her by such a title, which somehow held back any anger that may have come from being called such. " Of course you didn't. What an icebreaker though" she said, her tone slightly sarcastic at the beginning, and incredulous at the end. " And don't call me ma'am. I'm Tyr." She listened to the rest, and watched him closely as he was backing away. the slight grin and raised eyebrow the only response. She shrugged slightly when he ran from the market.
She had her money, and the thief was gone, not too bad of an altercation, if it could even be called that. She checked her bags, to make sure that the things she had bought were still there, then she started walking in the same direction as the thief. While she was walking, she lowered the pouch, and pressed it on her hip, at the belt line. She needn't tie it of course, just a little use of power would get it to stick there, as if her waist was the ground. She turned the same corner that the thief had taken, and looked around. Absolutely no one in sight. That was perfect. She faced the closest wall and put up one foot. Another step upward and she was standing sideways on the wall, skirt and hair pointing to the east of the ally, directly at the wall she was standing on. At a trot she ran up the wall and disappeared around the side, which was actually the top. She made a spinning hop facing her vertically once again when she cut the ties to the wall, reestablishing the natural gravity of the world.
It was but a tiny pebble that she had attached to the side of the thief's heel as he ran, but it was all she needed. The pebble was also attracting her very slightly, so she could always tell in which direction the pebble was. She hated to do this, because sometimes it played havoc with her hair, making it point in the direction of the little tug, if it wasn't braided or tied correctly. Right now, she just had two tail on the sides of her head, and a couple single strands were wavering in mid air, moving as the thief did. It was pretty easy to keep up on the rooftops, she didn't have any traffic at all, and she could cut across the buildings, instead of having to go around. She could take a leisurely pace, though the jumps from building to building sometimes made it even faster than running, when she altered her own gravity towards the top of the next building.
She just hoped that as she was jumping across the alleys that no one happened to look up at the very moment and see something she might have to kill them for later, if she ever found out who was looking up at that time. She caught up quite a few streets later, where the heck was this guy going? He'd got her quite interested, curious she would call it. He wasn't the run of the mill ruffian, nor just a common cut-purse. He called himself a true thief, and that was quite rare, someone who really knows how to steal, and make a living. She didn't know if he was telling the truth or not, because of the loud belly at the end. Was he starving? Or did he just not eat this morning? She couldn't tell, she dealt in blood, not in whatever it was that could tell who was starving or not. Some kind of priest? Maybe, she didn't know.
She shook her head, dashing the thoughts from her head, like she did earlier. Up here though, there wasn't much chance of danger, she could see anyone coming if they dared. Instead she concentrated on her quarry, the thief. She continued to follow him until it looked like he was going to stop for a while. then she'd backtrack to an empty alleyway so she could approach from the street. She just hoped he didn't notice the little pebble attached to his shoe and ditch the shoe. She couldn't actually attach anything to his skin, first that would be wrong, and extremely obvious, she was smarter than that, or at least that's what she'd like to believe.

Leaf ran along the streets. He needed food right now and that was all he could think of. Digging through the wallets he had just obtained, he was quite satisfied with the amount inside. It was enough for a few meals as well as a cheap mask of some sort. He stopped at several places, not wanting to attract attention in too many areas and had bought some bread, cheese, and just a tidbit of beef stew. Then, he brought it all into a alleyway and started to eat there. As he scarfed it all down, he thought about the girl this morning. "Tyr. What an interesting person. I wonder if I'll see her again." Leaf thought aloud. "Bah. I guess it might not be too good to, though. In my excitement, I think I said too much already." As he slurped down his stew, he decided that meat tasted better cooked. He had had several meals in the woods eating what he could catch in his wolf form. The raw meat was digestable, but if didn't have that satisfying taste of cooked, seasoned meat.
Leaf yawned and decided that he would continue stealing tomorrow. He had all the time in the world and for now he had no clients. Scaning his surroundings, Leaf decided that he would go take a nap on whatever building he was next to's roof. The walls on the side were rigid enough for him to clamber up and nobody was around. After he had scaled to the top, the warm glow of the sun and a full belly made him drowsy. "Whatever. No one's ever on top of roofs besides me. I'll just sleep here till dinner." He yawned.
As Leaf laid on his back, he thought about the morning. It was quite hectic alright. That girl was especially strange. Who can go around seemingly pulling things with their minds? Not to mention smelling like blood. Leaf remembered the couple of times he had to "dispose" of someone. He just never got used to killing. It wasn't the thought of having killed someone that bothered him. Leaf couldn't care less about his conscience. But, the act of murdering was just weird. The possibility of being able to extinguish someone's life in a split second was just so awesome. Sure, he could decieve and rob someone until they had nothing to do but die slowly, but to make the finishing move right then and there was just something that left him in awe. One little movement could silence a voice forever.
As the thoughts bubbled and faded, Leaf floated back into dreamland.

Tyr never got the chance she was looking for to go down and talk to him, and instead he came up. It was on the opposite roof though at least. She waited until she saw what he was going to do before saying anything. Surprise, surprise, he went to sleep. How in Shardik's name did this guy keep surprising her? She didn't know. Eventually she would come to understand him. Her curiosity demanded that she did so. She wasn't one to go against her instincts.. Well she was, but only when it would leave a town full of corpses in her wake, or other silly things like that. Corpses did seem to pile though, no matter how much she tried to restrain herself. she almost never left only one corpse each time she went to town for a job. There were usually two. Sometimes three.
People pissed her off, more often than not. She didn't usually get curious about them, like with this sleeping fellow across the way. It was much easier to just remove the ones that pissed her off from the equation. This time she'd have to seriously investigate, maybe even make a friend. She shuddered at that last thought. Her last friend she had to kill. It really wasn't a personal reason, but the girl tried to cheat her. That really didn't sit well with her, friends weren't supposed to do that. Right? No, they weren't, and Tyr wasn't going to be convinced otherwise. Not even by herself.
She thought the Thief should be deep enough asleep by now. She lightly hopped across the intervening alleyway, landing with nary a vibration or sound on the other side. She made her way closer to the thief, grinning again. She liked mischief almost as much as violence. If he was really asleep, she could use her power on him. A person doesn't really have a will when sleeping or unconcious, therefore they can't be 'unwilling' right? She supposed she could either liquefy him, by increasing his gravity by so much, his flesh and bones wouldn't be able to take the strain and stick together, making him a puddle on the roof. Or she could float him upwards, so he would ever be the slave to the wind, drifting with the smallest gusts of air.
At the moment she was about to decide, she remembered that she didn't want to kill him. Good thing she remembered too, because she was so close to liquefying him. Instead she nudged her big knee high boot into his foot. She quickly took one big step back, just in case he was one of those who woke up swinging. She was like that, but then again she slept swinging if there was someone next to her. "Wake up sleepy-head, what are you, a little kid? Seriously, a nap in the afternoon?" She said, in a sarcastic tone, grinning all the while.

While in the middle of a dream about swimming through piles of money, a sharp pain ran through his foot and Leaf woke up. He whimpered and grabbed his foot. "Owowowowow..... That hurt! Can't a person sleep in peace?" His voice died down when he lifted his head only to see the girl from earlier. "Hey! Tyr! Fancy meeting you here..." Leaf's voice trailed off when he realized where he was. "Wait a minute. Why are you also on the roof?" He glanced around, almost expecting other people up there. Nope. It was just him and her. "Whew. I thought that the police or something might be up here after me." He sighed in relief.
It was weird, seeing another person above the buildings with him. Leaf usually spent his time on other people's roofs when he was relaxing. Nobody really climbs roofs, to be honest, and when other people catch a glimpse of him, they see him as a psychotic or something. Of course, unless they recognize him and try to seize him either for the common good or for the reward. Leaf sometimes wondered if he would get the reward if he turned himself in. Definitely not. He grinned at the thought and decided to pay more attention to Tyr rather than thinking of random things.
It seemed a bit strange to see Tyr on the roof, but everything was always possible. Almost everywhere there'd be people with strange and outrageous abilities. And not everyone was human. There were always people with hidden wings or transformations like himself, but generally appeared human. And then there are the more obvious nonhuman beings like vampires or elves. After seeing such varieties of people around the land, Leaf doubted he would be surprised by whatever Tyr was.

"And here I was going to ask you that. But i guess I will answer first. Because it's easier to track someone on the roof" she replied, one corner twisting upward in a nice big smirk. She said it in a very matter of fact tone, like there couldn't possibly be anything slightly crazy in that last sentence and it was completely obvious. Of course it was obvious, to her at least, in her insanity. It was the reason she was tracking him that he should be worried about of course, not that she was on the roof, and had been since just after she saw him at the market. She figured she needed to get a life... Tracking someone she only met a little while ago? That was the crazy part, she knew it as well as he should.Curiosity can't be denied though, not in her case at least, so it may not be that crazy after all. Right?
Right. It's not like she didn't overhear him thinking out loud about her, though she'd have to keep that little bit of info to herself of course. Thoughts are better kept to yourself, in her experience, whether you think you are alone or not. She lived life thinking the ground had ears, which it very well might, or she may just be paranoid. Paranoia has served her well over the years though, and unlike someone else, she didn't have wanted posters around town. ... OH! Now she knew where she had seen him before, a damn wanted poster. This knowledge lit her eyes the moment she thought of it, a light of recognition, then was gone. Reward? Was there a reward? Maybe not. Who cares, it's not like i'm going to turn him in. Flashed through her mind quickly.
"Well you were talking about being a real thief, and got me interested, not my fault. You made me track you... In a way... Tyr said in a somewhat pouty voice as her smirk faded. "That's what you get for not finishing what you were talking about... And... What is your name by the way, since you have mine." She finished with, prompting him to either continue what he was saying earlier, or at the very least explain why he didn't want to talk about it with people around. They were alone, and though the ground had ears, they were no where near the ground, being on top of the roof. It was most probable that no one would overhear what he had to say, and if he spoke true, she may compensate him with information about her as well.

"Tracking me? Huh. I didn't know. I hope there arent others though. But right now I'm only here to sleep." Leaf looked at Tyr closely. She didn't seem to have any motive of catching him because if she could track him, well then it would've probably already been the end for him. Also, she obviously was not a normal common dogooder. Leaf decided (however foolishly) that it was probably safe to reveal himself. "The name's Leaf." He said with an air of pride. "Like I said earlier, I'm a thief. And I'm not one of those cheesy "steal from the rich and give to the poor" guys though if I had to put it that way, then the poor would be me and the rich would be everyone else." A grin crept upon Leaf's face as he spoke. It was true, he never really cared about who he stole from be it a wealthy baron or a hobo on the road. Of course, it was much more satisfying to break into a mansion and cracking safes rather than stealing from a beggar's tin can.
Leaf remembered the first time he stole something. It was way back when he was only the age of five. He had been prompted by his father to take from a passing man. At that time Leaf was too short to even reach inside the man's pocket, let alone taking from it. So he had sneakily cut a hole in the bottom and as the coins dropped out, he picked them up until he had a good handful. Of course, Leaf wouldn't resort to such tricks now. He could easily take the entire contents of a pocket in one second while passing by and out of the victim's sight in the next.
Leaf turned to glance at the palace in the distance. "I've always wanted to sneak into one of the palaces, but the security is way too tight." He sighed. "I enjoy traveling and I've been to all three kingdoms. It's interesting to compare all the differences of the people and places. Alas, none of them are where I can call home." Leaf scratched his head and looked thoughtful for a minute. "Hm. Well, I have one question for you. How did you track me? I'm sure you didn't just climb up a building and happen to see me because if that happens often, then I'd be in peril..."

Curiosity had completely destroyed her normal rage by this point, though the insanity was right behind and directing the curiosity. Yeah, insanity was always with her, she wouldn't know what the heck to do if she wasn't slightly crazy at all times. That, of course, was what drove her to stalk this guy today. A slightly lopsided grin spread her lips a little when she replied to what he said. "Of course you didn't know. I'm not one to let my pre... uhh subject know i'm tailing them.' She had almost slipped and called him 'prey' to his face. That probably wouldn't have went over well, and he would have clammed up after that. She hoped he was still dull from just waking up, and missed that little slip.
"Leaf... the... Thief? I don't know whether that's funny.. or sad. It would only be sad if whoever named you knew you were a thief... I guess. Anyway, nice to meet you. Good thieves are hard to come by, and I can already tell that you've got some pretty slick fingers, I really don't know how you got my pouch unnoticed, but it's impressive. She said as he explained his job description. She was pretty sure she could use a good thief from time to time, maybe they could do a job together, or a few. She could get the job, kill the target, and he could rob the house or mansion that it lived in. That could turn out to be a sweet setup. She never really though about her target's possessions before, such a waste.
She was wondering at this point if looking up at her had given him a crick in his neck. She hunkered down slowly when he asked his question, not too far from his head, her hands pushing her skirt so he didn't get a free show. If that had happened it would lead to disaster, and blood covering the roof, dripping into the alley below, of course. But she was careful this once as she leaned in to whisper the one word that started her response. " Attraction." She was trying to be misleading, just a little, sometimes it was fun to tease.
It would continue to be fun, because she was going to continue to tease, just a little bit longer. " I was attracted to you, pulled do you ken? It made it really easy to follow you." She let this sink in for a while, watching his face closely, to see if she got any reaction from him. Her grin widened after a few moments, and she raised one hand, palm facing outward curled and manicured fingers facing his feet. There was a small slapping noise a half a second after she cut the bonds that held the small rounded pebble to the back of his shoe, still grinning. Then she held out her hand, so he could pluck the pebble from her palm just as she cut the ties of the pebble from her. Now it was just a nondescript street pebble that could have been from any of the three cities he had been to.
" Actually, I was attracted to this, and it was attached to you." She explained further, giving up the tease for now. " It's my specialty. I can make things attracted or repulsed from each other. Do you ken gravity, what sticks us to the roof and the ground? It has something to do with that." She shrugged with that, as if she couldn't really explain much more because she really didn't understand the mechanics of what she did, just that it worked. "So, I made the little rock stick to your shoe, and made it so I could feel the pull of the rock. It's something special, so don't worry." This was really the most she had told anyone about herself, and why? No idea, though it may be because they were on the roof. Only people that were in the neighborhood of her line of work used the roofs, and he may have proven himself to be a kindred spirit.

Leaf sniggered a bit at "Leaf the Thief". He had never thought about his name that way before. "Haha! That is quite an interesting way to put it!" He chuckled. "But the name Leaf I gave to myself. My given name is Lefor. When I chose the name Leaf. I had partly derived it from Lefor, but I also wanted to be a thief that would be unnoticeable like a leaf on the side of the road."
When Tyr complimented his skills, Leaf flushed slightly, flattered. It wasn't very often when someone praised his skill, especially from a girl. His face reddened a little more and averted his eyes when Tyr bent down and whispered by his ear. But soon Leaf realized that it was a misunderstanding. "That is quite a unique power you have there." He exclaimed. "So far on my travels I haven't seen anything like it... And just when I thought I had seen everything, too" To change the gravitational pull of an object was indeed an amazing thing. Leaf marveled at the pebble, turning it slowly in his fingers. He couldn't believe that this pebble alone could exploit his tracks. "Well at least I don't have to worry about another person tracking me with the same means." Leaf smiled.
"Of course, my powers alone aren't anything too special like yours." Leaf started. "All I can do is transform into a wolf, but the heightened senses I get as a human is a plus." Leaf stood and offered a hand to help Tyr up. He looked up and saw that the sky was on one side, bright and sunny, but upon looking at the other end, it seemed like darker clouds were starting to roll in. Perhaps staying on the roof might not be too good.

Tyr grinned fiercely at the blush she had made rise on his cheeks. She was kindof amazed. She had talked to this guy for a few minutes already, and she didn't want to see his brains leaking down the side of the roof. That was quite an accomplishment on his part, whether he knew it or not. Yeah, it was true, ninety-nine percent of the population would get her riled and get themselves hurt. It wasn't her fault, they all deserved it really. No one knew the value of respect until she taught it to them. It was usually either a snide or snippy comment, they had busy hands, or they were just plain idiotic. It was mostly the last of the three, but it didn't really matter that much.
He'd given her his real name, which could actually be dangerous to give with people you had just met. Tyr wasn't really concerned in that area though since she was pretty confidant that she could mop up anyone who would try to use it against her, and in truth she didn't really know if that was her true name, just something on a note that had been destroyed the day she was taken into the boarding school she called home for the first ten years of her life. Then he even complimented her gift, her power, which could really be seen no other way than a gift to her, it was what fed her, clothed her, and gave her a nice lifestyle. She then remembered what one of her Sensei had called it, when she was learning Kenpo. " Fragment of Gan." she said absently after he had complemented her. A fragment of Gan's power, or whatever higher being you pray to. To me they are all the same. And no you don't, If he was right, I've heard tails that no two people have the same fragment of Gan." She said with a slight smile.
She took his hand after he was standing and let him help her to a standing position. She was pretty close to him right now, and it was time to tease once again. "Your powers are special. I haven't known anyone to be a wolf like that.....Other than the storm, what else do you smell right now? She said in a soft voice, though it was slightly fabricated, she hoped the tone would ring true enough as she wondered if he would respond with what she thought he would. She had seen the storm as well, and knew that most animals could sense, or smell an incoming storm, and usually were able to find adequate shelter before it broke. She was assuming he could as well, with his interesting power. You could get quite a few places that humans couldn't as a dog.. or wolf.
