It was a bright day, as it was usually in the peaceful town of Yamanash. It was bright and sunny, but not too brightly as if to harm one's eyes. It was a nice temperature outside, not too hot and not too cold. The streets were busy like usually and many street vendors were having a good day. Not one of the citizens or travellers knew they had nothing to fear in this town, even in the darkest alleys. And, unlike Obscur, this town seemed to shut down after a certain hour in the night unless there was something going on.
It was only the start of the morning and yet some people spoke of a slight fear. Was there really a wolf in the city? Most people shook the tale away, laughing. Why would there be an adult wolf in such a city? It was just the tale of a traveller wishing to stir up some trouble. Though some people did seem to stay away from the shadows that came from the angled morning sun. And there was slightly less children on the street. Perhaps an early school lesson of some sort?
A street vendor, tired for waking so early, rubbed his eyes and peered into a nearby alleyway to see if any customers were coming that way. But what met his eyes were a magnficent white wolf, like he had heard from a fellow vendor on his way here. Split pupils surrounded by so bright a blue that they shone like jewels. The sunlight did not reach the creature for it was covered by the natural shadows.
By when the vendor rubbed his eyes again from shock, the white beast was gone. Not even a hair was on the cobbled alleyway. Maybe what he had heard this morning had affected his thinking?

N.A.L.A We May All Be In The Same Gutter, But Some Of Us Are Looking At The Stars...
The city was a peaceful one, and there was rarely ever a talk of fighting there. Unlike the neighboring cities, Yamanash was a quiet community that was rarely disturbed. The sun beat down on Nala's ebon coat, but there was a breeze that brought a lovely cooling effect with it. Her tail and paws hung over the side of a building as she layed in the sun. She was not normally so resistent to the suns harmful rays, but she had fed that morning and had decided to enjoy the golden light. Laying her head on the edge of the building, she looked down on the bustling city below. She had been staying there for many nights, but though she had become quite comfortable there, she knew that she would eventually have to move on. Nala had already been seen by a couple of late night strollers, and rumors had caught fire fast. After about the fourth day, however, they had died down. It helped that she wasn't full grown, and big black cat wasn't intimidating any how. During her time there, she had managed to use her kitty charm to get some people to give her food -- even if they were a little freaked out at her size. She always went to a beef station, and would carry off the meat to a corner where she could extract the blood without alarming anyone. A slight tingling suddenly ran through her body, a warning that she had to retire for the day. Getting to her feet, she stretched her body out as far as it would go; lowering herself to the ground and pointing her tail straight out behind her with a yawn. Licking her deadly teeth, she turned to the side of the building. Down below her was an alleyway, and she walked back and forth on the building edge for a moment. Flicking her tail, she lowered down and put her paws on the side of the building. Pushing off with her back legs, she landed on the top of a trash can, and from there onto the ground. Shaking herself in that animal way, she stretched her back leg before walking down the alley. Further down the way, she happened to see a box. Deciding that this would be her place of rest, she pranced up to it and pushd her nose in.

The white wolf's rumor spread across the city as it was spotted by others, but never within a close distance. Children didn't walk the street as often and if they did, an adult was with them at all times. One shopper laughed at the story when a vendor claimed to have seen the beast in an alleyway. Surely everyone were just getting worked up over nothing. It was later when that same shopper saw a glimpse of white did he begin to think that the rumor might be more then just a tale. But though the wolf had been seen and had seen the people of the city, there had been no attacks. No acts of violence. Not one person had even been growled at by the loose wolf. Some people, though the wolf wasn't a real threat, had gotten together a few weapons and were now on the look out for it.
A white shape was slowly walking down an alleyway, unconcerned about where it was. After all, this was no ordinary wolf. The wolf sniffed the air, sensing the people seemed to be thinner in these parts then the other places it had been. It seemed like a good place to rest from all of the running, especially now that the wolf had seen people gathering weapons. What had it done to them? Blue orbs scanned the area, not seeing much of interest. It was a pretty empty alleyway but it also seemed unused. Perhaps this really was a good resting area? Ears perked, the wolf stepped forward and looked around further, trying to find a place to seek cover until night fell. Then the wolf could easily return to the forest nearby in her true form.
Seeing a box, the wolf carefully climbed in as best as she could. This way the two legged creatures wouldn't be able to see her. The canine laid down and scanned the area before falling into a light sleep.
But she awoke not a moment later when the clash of a trash can rang through the air. The wolf did not move, waiting to see if she would be noticed. After a few seconds, she relaxed her tensed muscles and got ready to rest once more. Until a nose pushed itself into the box, startling the white wolf quite a bit. She stayed still, staring at the nose and wondering why there would be a stray animal besides herself in this alleyway. Without making a noise, the wolf pushed her paw against the nose lightly.

N.A.L.A We May All Be In The Same Gutter, But Some Of Us Are Looking At The Stars...
Nala sniffed once or twice, and just as she was about to poke her face in entirely to get a better look at the animal she could strongly smell, she felt a light pressure on her nose. She could feel the padded paw and the faint touch of a claw. Snorting and shaking her head, she pulled herself out and backed up. Tripping over her own tail, she did a mini-backflip and landed sitting down. Slightly dazed, she sat there for a moment and got her bearings. Flicking her tail in an irritated mannor, she got to her feet and padded forward. Pushing her whole face back into the box, she stared at the white wolf. "What was that for?" she asked, wondering if the wolf would understand her. There weren't many animals that could talk to her, but she had decided that this wasn't your average wolf. The scent had confused her, and most certainly didn't entirely match its owner. She had to wonder why the wolf was so far into the city. For Nala, it was practical. She could find food in both stray animals, rats and mice, as well as a restraunts raw throw aways. This wolf, however, was no blood drinker. And, as big as it was, it no doubt had trouble hiding from the city's eyes. Nala could easily seek refuge in the shadows of the city and roof tops, and even if she was seen, she wasn't big enough to cause alarm before she disappeared again. She had heard of a wolf in the city, but hadn't been too bothered to actually look for it. "You shouldn't be here." she added, taking a few steps in. It was as far as she could, and dared, to go. The wolf could easily injure the young panther, but she wasn't afraid -- oddly enough. She figured that if the wolf had wanted to harm her, that it would have happened by then. And so Nala stared there, staring at the wolf and wondering if it would actually talk to her.

The wolf stared at the feline in wonder as it did something close to a backflip over their own tail. The wolf could see now that it was black in color and larger then your average kitten. What had this feline been doing here? Maybe it had just stumbled into the city like the wolf had. The wolf was going to stick her head out but before she could the cat pushed her head into the box. As it asked why the wolf had done that, the canine's ears went down. "I didn't mean to cause you any harm." the wolf said shyly. Her voice was one of an adult but it was also quiet. Her head was slightly bowed, ears drooping a bit.
The reason the wolf was actually here was because she has stumbled upon the town at sunrise. She had still been in her normal form and nearby, thinking she would have enough time to find some food before she returned to her wolf form. She had been walking in an alleyway, trying to find the city's exit, until she began to change. And here she was now, stuck in the city until the sun went down. Though with her wolf speed, the wolf might be able to get out of the exit. That is, she could of until some people had gathered weapons. Now all she could do was hide until sunset.
When the feline said she didn't belong in the city, the wolf stayed quiet. Why would a wolf or a moon spirit belong in the city? Sure, the feline didn't know the wolf was a moon spirit but still. Neither form had a reason to be in town during the day. But she kept her muzzle shut, not wishing to tell the cat about her real form. It was better to just act like a wolf. But wait, weren't wolves usually...scarier? As the feline stared at her, the wolf looked away, out into the alleyway. She allowed the cat to enter the box and didn't speak any further.

N.A.L.A We May All Be In The Same Gutter, But Some Of Us Are Looking At The Stars...
Nala, completely comfortable with the canine that was about three to four times her size, tilted her head at the shyness in her voice. Sitting down in the entrance, she licked her paw and ran it over her head. "It's alright!" she said in the classic Nala way -- cheerfully with a sweet under tone. Nala was naturally friendly with everyone, and didn't really have a reason not to be. Of course, she stayed away from most of the people in this city. The people of Sanchu normally didn't have a problem accepting those that are strange, but ever since the peace treaty you could find people from all over -- it was those you had to worry about. Of course, everyone would talk about creatures like Nala or this wolf, but she doubted they would go so far to actually hurt them. Ever since the rumors of this exact canine spread, people had been gathering weapons. But that was most likely to protect themselves, or to drive the animal out of town. They had no way of knowing that this wolf had a conscience, so you couldn't exactly blame them. Nala was, unlike this poor wolf, lucky. Being a cat, she had a much easier time maneuvering through the city. She was also black. The shadows hid her perfectly, the alleyways her roads and the roofs her shortcuts. Even so, she would still be moving on some time in the next day or so. "Are you hungry?" she asked, looking at the wolf expectantly. She figured that it would be hard for the canine to get any food, if you counted out the numerous trash cans. Nala's fur raised just-so as she thought about any animal eating from the trash, especially those of the wild variety. "I can get you some food if you'd like!" the panther offered. Nala was a very giving creature, and had been known to share a box in this very city with a lost puppy. She had slept there with him that entire night, before urging him out. It hadn't been exactly easy, as this puppy was not any smarter than he should have been. But, she had managed to get him to scratch on the door while she hid in the shadows. The family had been so taken by the puppy that he had gotten what could turn out to be a permanent home. There was now fliers posted up around town with his pictures on it. When she saw them she couldn't help but feel a little proud.

The wolf felt pretty stupid at being stuck inside of a city. She would have to wait for a long time before she could actually return to the nearby forest. But how would she repay the feline that seemed so nice? The cat seemed to have everything she needed at the moment. Easy food, shelter, and perhaps an owner in this city. But didn't pets have tags or collars or something? The wolf wasn't sure but there had to be something that marked strays from pets. Maybe the canine could get something like that to put on so she could get into cities when she really needed to? Though it was rare, sometimes the wolf couldn't find enough food or drink in the forests. Like the night before.
Though it was strange, the wolf didn't sleep. She drew her energy from the mother moon, who was also awake during the day but usually invisible. But from time to time the wolf could see the faint outline of the moon even during the day. Even though she didn't need sleep, running around the city had made the wolf want to rest. Sleeping was a waste of time in her eyes but surely laying down for a few minutes to catch her breathe wasn't a waste. But by now the wolf had gotten her wing back and felt much better then she had felt earlier while running from sight.
The wolf nodded her head up and down slowly, having not found food before she changed into her current shape. Then again, walking into the city so close to sunrise hadn't been a very good plan anyway. But she had been hungry and the easiest food was in the city she had been passing by anyway. The canine's stomach growled in hunger, agreeing with her. She didn't know how long she had been without food while going through the barren places on the way here but it had been long enough to make her a bit skinnier. Not long enough for her ribs to show too much and for her fur to hang from her body though. At that point the wolf would be eating out of the trashcans, regardless of what was in them.
