The only emotion that could be felt that this current moment was joy; pure joy unhindered by the weight of the world that was full of so much opposition and power struggle. It was one of those rare moments where one could just escape it all and be welcomed into their own little world with open arms, free to be what they wanted and not afraid of what might happen when you turned the corner. Oh, how these moments were so precious and scarse, flying by on the wind. If only they weren't so fleeting, like a butterfly. If only she could stay in this little bubble of happiness for all of her life, enjoying this part of the world and ignoringit for what it really was.
But, these wild dreams were impossible. There was no use chasing after them like a little kid trying to catch those little glows balls of light as they filled the summer sky; those bright little insects that littered the sky with their glow and filled one with joy as they showed the world to be a simple place. With a slight sigh and a tiny, longing smile upon her face, one of the two twin princesses of Akaika continued her walk through the grassy plains that surrounded the White Ribbon River. Though most came to see the raging river as it cut through the plains, Azalea always found herself here for another reason. She had always just loved these rolling planes.
There really was no reason as to why she loved the grassy area so much. Maybe it was the way it went on and on, hardly anything to break it endless waves. Or maybe it was the way the wind tossled it gently, along with her hair, playing with it bending it to its will, always acting like a caring mother and only ever sweeping through the area roughly during a storm. Or maybe it was the all the animals that inhabitated the area; all the song birds and tiny predators that roamed the undergrowth in search of a decent meal. Either way, it was one of her favorite places to be. She was estatic to be here right now.
Turning around, wide smile upon her features as she showed her perfect white teeth, she faced her twin sister that had accompanied her to this place. Isn't this place just fantastic, she said to her sister, hardly having to yell over the dull roar of the quiet of the place. It was currently a strange quiet, even for the place, that Azalea had never felt before. For some reason, the birds weren't as loud and cheerful. She couldn't hear the tiny russle of the tiny ground creatures as they scouted the ground. Whatever was different with the place, Azalea didn't like it and it put her on edge. However, she didn't show these emotions as she continued to smile widely at her sister, hoping that she wouldn't see past the facade that she was putting on and that only she was feeling this strange anxiety.

Whie Ribbon River. It was one of the prettiest places in the entire Kingdom. Its rushing waters reflected in her navy blue eyes. She stoppped and looked down into the aqua, watching as a fish came to the surface before disappearing once more. It was peaceful here. It was pure, as if no blood had ever stained the beautiful grass. Camellia, though she didn't feel as jovial as her sister, definitely liked it here. Birds and butterflies alike flitted through the air, the insects bringing beautiful color to the birds songs. The entire scene was lovely. The grasses were long, and brushed her legs in a tickling way -- the entire thing was not unlike a poem she had read just that day. In fact, she had been reading a lot of poetry lately -- it had become her new favorite pasttime. She would grab her latest poetry book, go outside into the gardens, and read amongst the beautfiul flowers and fountains. Now, however, she found that she was without her poetry book and no doubt regretted not taking it with her on this little outing of theirs. Pulling herself out of her mind, she turned and hurried to catch up with her sister. She nodded as she linked her pinky with Azalea's, trailing a little bit behind. Camellia was no doubt more submissive than her sister, but some would argue that it was a good thing -- it balanced them out well. Though, as her twin, Camellia always knew when there was something wrong with Azalea -- and she couldn't help but feel it too. "What's wrong?" she asked, pulling slightly with her pinky finger. It was no doubt a childish thing for her to be holding her sisters hand in such a way, but if Camellia cared then the sky was purple. She used her other hand to play with her clothes in a slightly anxious mannor. Camellia, in a more casual outfit, still looked dashing in a light sky blue dress. It was fitted around her torso, but only let out slightly as it fell down. When it came to clothing, Camellia had very little casual clothes to speak of -- and she hadn't been able to get out of the palace in anything else.

Azalea stirred from her lightly anxious thoughts and feelings, turning towards the twin sister that had linked her pinky with her own before asking her a question. Nothings wrong! Really, everything is fine, dearest sister, she proclaimed loudly and confidently. However, she knew her sister would be able to detect the noticable hints of worry in her expression, as well as her voice. It didn't help that she could probably also see the way her fist was balled behind her back, getting a fierce grip on her light and airy clothes. She, of course, had been able to sneak out of the castle in an even more casual outfit than her sister. To others, it was even scandoulous!
Azalea had always been one for comfort. Sure, she loved wearing the fancy ballgowns and beautiful pieces, but that was only on special occasions. Other than that, anything of soft fabric was her choice, no matter what it was. Currently, her outfit consisted of a loose and flowing long sleeve white top that stuck off of her form and hung around her waist. Accompanied with a pair of light brown and tight pants and knee high boots, the princesses looked more like she was going to ride a horse than walk around an empty field.
Thinking about the field brought her back to her senses, causing her to look around the field. It currentlywasn't any better. In fact, it was worse. MUCH worse. For, unlike last time, not a single chirping bird could be heard. Nor could she make out any tiny russels of little invertebrate below her. All that she could hear was the ominous howling of the wind as it played gently with clothing and hair, tickling her skin and causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand on end. Suddenly, something in the distance caused her red eyes to flick towards her right. However, nothing could be seen past the long golden grasses.
Quickly, she grabbed ahold of her sister wrist, moving her hand from the comforting pinky embrace. Stand close to me, she said quietly to her sister, the words almost a whisper as they floated on the wind. Slowly, her other hand reached for where one of her swords would be, only to find that the comforting object was not in its place. It dawned on her that she had forgotten both her weapons at the castle, not thinking to bring them on such a relaxing trip. I think its time we left. Let's go back home so we can eat some pastries, she said, voice thick with fake happiness as she stared at her sister, sending her a message. I don't think we are alone here anymore. Don't panic and act natural. Don't worry, I WILL protect you, she said to her sister, hoping her sister would listen to her.

Camellia tilted her head and blinked once, before smiling and nodding knowingly. That was just like Azalea, to pretend as if nothing was wrong. In fact, that was only one of the many qualities they shared. Though, Azalea had never seemed to be quite good at it -- probably do to her talkative nature. As timid and quiet as Camellia was, it was easier to supress any feelings she may have. Camellia had always been slightly jealous of her sisters' ability to stand up for and against anyone, but not enough to come out of Azalea's shadow. Cami had always been behind her sister in almost everything, but, unlike most people, she liked it that way. She enjoyed having someone to look up to in such a way. Though she were no doubt the same age, Azalea had always been the protector of the two -- and Camellia the one she protected. Whether it was comforting her during a thunderstorm when they were young, to creepy bugs...Well, Camellia wasn't particularly afraid of bugs (she actually found them quite fascinating), but you get the point. Up to that point, Camellia had been reassuring herself that nothing was wrong and that it was her imagination. As a result, she had been able to keep relatively calm; now, however, she could feel her muscles tense as the serenity was broken. She shifted uneasily, resisting the urge to bring her fingernails to her mouth -- yeah, her tutor almost killed her every time she saw any hint of nail-chewing. Camellia didn't resist moving closer to her sister, and switched their linked pinkies to winde her arm through her sisters. It brought them as close as possible, but still looked casual. Camellia stood on the inside next to Azalea, closest to the river bank. "Good idea, I think a nap is in order too." she said, pretending to stifle a yawn. She rested her head on her sisters shoulder in mock-tiredness. She kept her eyes open, but it was really her just trying to push any fears she had away.

A lone male stood very still, watching the two princess twins. Stalking? Yes, he was. But you couldn't get that out of him. This was what he called observing or studying. The air elemental wanted to go over them and to do things. Many days and nights he had wondered what it would be like to claim the twins for himself. It would be glorious, but he could not today.
Today was the day where Xavier could see them away from society. Actually, maybe he would claim them that day, just not now. He was too far away to here what the girls were saying, but he could tell there was something troubling them. Perhaps they saw him? No, no one could ever see him. He was one with the wind, an elemental actually able to become one with his element. Ha! No one could ever see him when he didn't want them too. He was too godly.

A small smile graced the more outgoing twins features as her sister played along with the scheme. Hopefully Azalea was just being paranoid, but if there did actually happen to be somebody there with them, hiding amongst the grasses, they might think they were just casually going back. However, she hoped they weren't good at detecting emotions. Otherwise, they were screwed with the plan of playing it cool. But, as she sevearly hoped, she could be just paranoid. She knew these hopes were in vain, though. After all, all the hairs that covered neck were standing on edge and the once cheerful, sunny day had now become overcast. She didn't feel safe here anymore, especially with the lack of swords. She wanted to get her sister out of the place now.
Azalea began to look around carefully as the two began to leave the area, not letting it on that she was carefully observing the scene. She saw nothing, all was quiet and empty surrounding the two elves as they quickly made their way out. However, this caused her worry to escalate; an unseen predator was always the worst. Quickly beginnng to act cheerful once more, as to not look so suspicious, she started cheerfully chatting with her sister. So. When we get back to the castle, what types of pastry should we eat, apple or cherry, she said with a wide, fake smile directed towards her sister.
However, before she could catch the answer tiger question, a suddenly strong gust of wind rammed into her body, almost knocking her off of her feet. Regaining her balance after the struggle to stay on her feet, she looked up at the sky, which had now become a deep midnight color, hints of dark greens, blues, and purples making it become a big mess the color of a painful bruise. Cursing lightly under breath, Azalea turned towards her sister. Hurry, we have to get out of here, it's dangerous, she yelled to Camellia, pulling on her arm to try and pull her out of the plains. Suddenly, a blot of lighting struck somewhere in the plains nt far from where they wer, followed by a loud clap of thunder. Then, it began to rain. Buckets of freezing water spilling forth from the sky and drenching the girls, causing their clothes to stick to them. It wasn't a comfortable feeling and the ominous weather sure didn't help with the chills that were running down her spine.

Camellia sighed softly, and it was obvious to see that she was the calmer of the two, and did her best to keep Azalea feeling the same way. They weren't even sure if anything was really wrong yet. And, though she was very calm on the outside, anxiety was quickly setting in. Her stomach turned as she thought about what could be hiding in those long grasses that adorned the large, flat area. It was such a beautiful place, and it seemed so innocent and safe -- but there wasn't a doubt in her mind that it held some pretty terrifying secrets. Though, for now, she kept her introverted expression. Camellia smiled slightly, and raised her head from her sisters shoulder, "Cherry for --" She cut herself off as the wind suddenly picked up. She clung to her sister, staggering as her dress blew out behind her. Camellia hadn't even noticed the sky turning dark, and she was becoming frightened quickly. Since they had been young, Camellia had found she enjoyed the rhythm of rain on the roof. Though, her fear of it had never faded. As long as she was inside, she was okay, and even liked listening to it as she fell asleep. However, outside of the safety of their home, she was terribly scared. Her hair whipped around her face, and she didn't even hear what her sister said. Though, she didn't hesitate folowing in her sisters footsteps. Camellia yanked her hand away from Azalea as thunder clapped above them, she yelped softly and covered her ears. The rain suddenly became overwhelming, and she squeezed her eyes shut. Her dress clung to her small frame. The damp fabric, already tightened around her center, became even tighter as the water weighed down on it. Her corset wasn't terribly tight (in fact, she had loosened it quite a bit), but the combination of the two was quickly making it slightly harder to breathe. A moment later, she opened her eyes in a squint and began looking frantically around her -- where had her sister gone? She couldn't see a thing in the down pour. "Azalea?!" she yelled, only to be drowned out by another boom of thunder. Yelping, she lowered herself to the ground, covered her ears and shut her eyes. Her small body shaked uncontrolably, and she couldn't help but let a few tears streak down her face.

Xavier watched as the two girls seemed calm and casual. They couldn't escape him, especially now that the wind had picked up. Yes, he could even just pick one off from the other. But he wanted both of them to play with. He followed only about five feet behind them now as they talked about getting back to the castle. Some of his element almost knocked one girl over. That hadn't been his doing though.
A storm started picking up and the air elemental smiled. The girls couldn't detect him in any way because he was part of the air swirling around them. Sure, he could change back to his normal form but that wouldn't be any fun.
Xavier began to stir up the winds, tryign to seperate the twins. That way he could manage to knock one out, and then the other. And by the time they woke up, he would have them back in his home. They wouldn't be able to escape. They still couldn't detect him, not even his aura or thoughts. He was air. The elemental began to smile (as much as air could smile) as the wind picked up, trying to make the girls go different ways.

Fear; was the only word that could come close to describing the way the Azalea currently felt as she ran desperately through the grassy fields that surrounded the beutif White Ribbon River. The very one that didn't look so beautiful now that the waters were raging waves, mirroring those of a sea during a storm. Plus, it was raining. Not just a regular drizzle of rain, but HARD rain. Now don't get me wrong, Azalea loved the rain. But, once thunder and lightening came into play, she knew it was very dangerous to be out in the open. Thinking of the threatening elements that raged above her head, it made er think of her sister. It made her realize just how much harder it must have been on her.
Turning around to face her twin sister, the sight behind her caused her to stop in her tracks, staring behind her in disbelief. For, after looking around, she came to find that Camellia was nowhere to be found in the nearby vacinity. Azalea couldn't help but slap herself a few times, trying to get rid of the shock and get herself together. Even though she had promised Camellia that she would protect, here she had gone and left her in the middle of the grassy fields that she had recently felt like she was being watched. Shakng her head, getting the water that had begun to dribble down in her eyes, she began to run back and ty to step-by-step look for her sister.
But, even though her clothes were loose and gave her the ability to run faster due to less hindering clothing, she still found herself having a hard time running through the plains. Her wet and uncomfortable clothes were sticking to her skin, allowing for less movement. Plus, the tall grasses were more of hinderance than a help. The stuck to her wet clothes, acting like grasping hands that were trying to pull her back. Also, they didn't help her navigate. Everything all looked the same from where she was. It allowed for so many hiding places. Camellia, Azalea cried, the words getting drowned out by the roar of the storm. Camellia, where are you?!

Camellia could barely see inches in front of her face, and couldn't hear anything but the clashing thunder and lightning. It seemed like her only sense still available was touch -- and she didn't particularly like what she was feeling now. Balancing herself on her toes and fingers, though, she some how managed to get to her feet. Her hair was dark navy, and even longer now that it was being weighed down by the rain. And, even though she would have liked to shield her eyes from the downpour, she never removed her hands from their places around her ears. Squinting, she considered staying near the river, but its rushing waters were quickly coming over their banks; making the ground muddy and unstable. So, she moved away. Oh how she wished they hadn't left the castle, but stayed on the grounds like she knew her mother and father wanted. Who knew what was going through her parents' minds. Were they angry? Worried? Had they even noticed that they were gone? Of course they had... she thought. But were they worried enough to send a search party out to find them? She hoped they had, because if so then they had a chance of being found -- even though the chances that they would happen upon them were slim. The lands of Akaika were vast, and she would be one of the luckiest people in the world if they were to find her -- and her sister. Oh Azalea, where were you? Her footsteps were already slow, but when the wind started up again she stopped in her tracks. Looking around (and flinching when a strand of blue hair hit her eye), she could have sworn she heard Azalea -- but it sounded much too far away, and she was completely convinced that it could have been the wind playing tricks on her.

The wind was playing tricks. The elemental wanted to laugh as his plan fell into the place. It was so simple to make the twins seperate! And now, he only had to choose which one to go after first. Either Camellia or Azalea. Once one of them were down, it would be even easier to get the other one.
Xavier shed his air form and turned back to his normal self. He had short crimson hair with dark brown eyes and appeared to be twenty or so. Of course, he wouldn't tell you his real age. The air elemental knew all he had to do was hit their pressure point hard enough to knock them out and then they would be his. He still held back a laugh and headed towards Camellia, a bubble of calm air around him. Yes, he was going to get these girls.

Elric had been lying on his brother's lap sleeping when the rain started. The two had gone out to relax from their training and let out some steam. They had left when Evan had gotten scolded again for not being able to block an attack. The had left to hide their anger since they would do that now. Instead Elric had fallen asleep on Evan again. Not that Evan minded he loved when his bother fell asleep on his lap. It had been the two of them for alone for so long that he felt odd when he was not around his brother. The out doors seemed to calm the elder of the two twins much more then he wanted to admit. They would have stayed there all day if it had not started to rain. When it started to rain Elric opened his eyes but he did not move. He liked being soaked by the rain as much as he liked sleeping on his brother's lap.
"I think it is time to get up brother," Evan said as he lifted his brother up. He was starting to feel a little cold in the rain and he did not want to catch a cold. Elric got up with a sigh and moved from the spot holding his brother's hands. The started to make their way back home when a lightening bolt stuck right where they had been sitting earlier. It was a good thing that they had decided to move from that spot. The did not feel any fear when seeing the bolt, they had experienced worse things in their life. It just only meant that they had not get out of this place fast. Elric started to drag his brother towards their home. They needed to get back before their father started to worry about them. They were not in a safe place so he would not be surprised if they saw his smile when they returned home.
They continued to move foreward when Elric heard the faint voice of someone calling for another person. He looked back at his brother to see if he had heard it. If he did he would want to go help this person. His brother had heard it. Evan looked at his brother with what one would call the puppy dog look. He wanted to help whom ever was calling out. Unlike other people they were not modified to do what Elric could do. Elric sighed not being able to resist his brother. He made his way to where he thought the voice was coming from. He could not be entirely sure since the wind was pretty strong. When he saw the outline of a fame he made his way to her but made sure not to get to close. "Hey do you need any help?" Elric called out. His voice was much more powerful than his brother so it would carry a little further in this rain.

Camellia, the elven woman cried, screaming as loud as her throat would allow her to in hopes her twin would be able to hear her over the fury of the storm. Azalea's cherry red eyes scanned the surrounding area, eyes blocking the pouring rain from her eyes as she tried to see through the darkness, ears strainning to catch the littlest hint of sound that could lead her to twin sister. After several minutes of standing in the same spot, her feet starting to sink into the mud as it tried to swallow her up into the earth, she began to cry. Now, it's rare for Azale to cry and she only does so when she is overcome by so many waves of negative emotions. This time, she was hit by the aggressive and relentless hopelessness, fear, and shame. All of these mixed caused the strong elf princess to finally break down and cry.
However, she couldn't stand there and cry for forever. For, to her delight, the sounds of feet slipping on wet grass began to fill her ears. She began to look arond, eyes shinning brightly in the storm as looked for the source, hoping that it would be her sister. It would be a miracle if it was her. But alas, no such miracle was acquired. Instead, two handsome young men who looked older than her(she knew they were younger than her though) came into her vision. She probably was quite the sight to see; bright red eyes that peeked out from behind the curtain of wet blue hair that stuck the her face. Along with the fact that her clothes stuck to her form, she felt like a drowned rat. But, now was not the time to be thinking about that, because one was asking if she needed help. Yes, I'm looking for my sister, she yelled over to them.
But, before she could say anything more to them, Azalea felt a tingling feeling in the depths of her being. This was the feeling she got when her sister was in danger. It wasn't good if she felt this, yet it was at the same time. It awoke her instincts, causing her to dash off in the opposite direction, giving the two handsome boys one look before running off. Following the feeling, she ran, struggling the fierce winds and buckets of rain. Her instincts were basically acting like a rope as she followed the tingling feeling in her gut. It was like it was pulling her towards her sister. And finally, after several minutes of hard fighting, she came across a shadowy figure in the distance. Hope filled her core as she pushed a little harder to run the extra distance faster. However, when she was finally close enough to see her sister, another figure came into her view. This one was a man in his twenties whose eyes held a look of hunger. She followed his gaze, only to see him looking at her sister. Anger and fury boiled up inside her as she saw his gaze, causing her to run faster than she thought she could before she was by her sister, acting as a wall between the two. Are you alright, Camellia, she thought to her sister, never once taking her eyes off of the man. It was good to know she wasn't just paranoid earlier.

Camellia was struggling to keep on her feet, and wasn't moving forward any longer. Instead, she focused on standing her ground against the fury of the winds. Though, only a moment went by, before she something in her told her to turn around. She could just barely see a shadowy figure. It was bigger than her, and presumably male. Not good, not good.... she thought, turning to face him and backing up a few steps. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps rang out behind her and she turned to see a very familiar face -- it was Azalea. Relief flooded her heart and new tears formed in her dark blue eyes -- but unlike before, it was because of her new-found feeling of safety. I just want to go home... she thought, keeping her eyes locked on the male figure also.

This wasn't good. Somehow the other girl, Xavier's second target, had made it through his wind. He gave both girls a smirk before his body became one with the wind. For now he would just watch. But if another chance appeared, he would take it happily. His thoughts and aura disappeared as his body completed changing back into wind.
He could tell that there was more then these girls in the storm now. Two males. The elemental would leave them be, unless they even tried something with the twin princesses. They were his as far as Xavier was concerned.
