I looked around as people passed by. This was a strange town. I had arrived earlier in the day and all had been quiet. After resting in a small inn, it was now night and everything was alive. I had decided to not to change my form for once, walking around in my normal clothes as well. I actually seemed to fit in here. My long black hair was in its normal pigtails and my animal ears were out but I wore different clothes. These clothes weren't my normal ones that had been enchanted for when I changed forms, seeing as there could be some mages around. Better not to be noticed.
I wore a short purple skirt with belts and chains on it and a plain black tanktop since the night seemed to be warm. I also wore black boots that went up to my knees and a choker with a purple cross on it. A lot of people wore different types of clothes here, from the brightest of whites to the darkest of blacks, so I didn't think my strange attire would be noticed.
The moon was its fullest and seemed to be tinted a blueish color to me. It hung in the center of the sky, as if watching. I wondered briefly if it really was tinted or if it was just me. I shook the idea off, knowing the moon couldn't be any color then white. During these thoughts, I found myself walking into a small potions shop. Curious, I walked in.
I was greeted by a cheery looking kitsune, who looked happy to have another customer. The shop wasn't empty, but not full either. There were some girls around my age in uniforms of some sort oggling over a heart shaped potion bottle in one corner of the room but not really another other people. I walked over to the part of the room which held some books, not wanting to attract attention of the girls.
Picking a book up, I looked through it and nearly yelped in surprise. The text was glowing strange colors and I couldn't read it. The book seemed to be in some weird language. One that glowed. After a few moments of gawking, I put the book back. Papa had been right. Some things really were mysterious. I looked back to the girls in uniforms to see some of them were staring at me in a strange way. When I looked back at them, they quickly looked away, snickering.
What was that about?

”Q-Quick, get away from it” For a whisper, they couldn't have said it louder. It was a group of girls that had been watching me for a while now, and when they noticed that I was slowly making my way towards the street that they were in, they started to panic. It was always like this, people rushing here and there to get out of my way, scared that they might fall victim to a bloody demise. ”Don't say anything to him, don't even look at him, he might destroy our home” another woman's voice rung in my ears. This voice was more mature than that of the girls though, and I could detect a hint of motherly worry in it. She was obvious warning her kids about me, and had already told her children of the evil vampire that destroys villages for fun. Stupid humans, they worry about things that aren't true, and will never happen. They made me want to kill them, it's just a pity that I promised mother to never harm a human being that hadn't attacked me first. I could feel my blood earning for a human male to suddenly lash out to me because he felt threatened by my presence, but I knew it wouldn't happen. Humans were after all, cowards.
The night life of this night city had confused my nose somewhat. I could detect thousands upon thousands of different scents all being carried around the city by different people and beings, all dulling my ability to detect dangers around me, not that anyone here would be willing enough to attempt to attack or mug me. A child's scream suddenly filled my ears with the most dreadful of pitches one with sensitive hearing could ever hear. It was so high pitched and loud that it could even deafen a dog. It was only a few seconds before I managed to locate the source of the vile sound. A child amongst the crowd of people that had formed around me and made a pathway for me to walk down. Pitiful humans, finding even the slightest amount of courage in numbers, I thought to myself as I realised the reason for the child's scream. There, just in front of me, was a yellow ball, which was obviously the child's which he had dropped and then had gotten away from him. I looked to the boy, then at the mother who's eyes suddenly lit up with rage and terror. She must have thought her child would be in danger.
I sighed under my breath and cursed my goodwill nature as I slowly bent down in front of the ball and closed my hand around the top of it and slowly raised it into the air. There were a few gasps followed by silence after my movement. But I managed to ignore them enough to not let them bother me, and slowly walked towards the young boy. His mother pulled him back in fear as I closed the gap between them and myself, but I continued anyway. I once again, knelt down, but this time in front of the young boy. His eyes were filled with tears as he looked into my eyes with terror, I could feel the tension in the air suddenly rise as people started grabbing whatever they could use as a weapon that was nearest to them just in case I did decide to attack the child. But I simply held out the ball to the child just as his mother was about to yell something at me, and smiled softly.
Again, there were few gasps, but this time, it was only from females admiring my vampuric beauty, if anything, this only annoyed me further. The boy cautiously and gingerly reached out for his ball, despite the protests from his mother. Children could judge characters better than adults could after all, since they are still somewhat pure and honest. When his hands clasped around the ball, he snatched it away from my hands, but smiled and thanked me before hugging his mother and running off back into the crowd. I stood back up and watched the mother, he seemed to be quite flabbergasted about my actions. But just like her son, thanked me for my kindness, and sparing hers and her sons life. But before she could flee after her son, I had a question to ask her.
”You wouldn't happen to have seen a being that is able to change it's shape on a whim around her, have you Madam?” I smiled briefly at her as I awaited her answer, but all she could do was shake her head as she was once again overwhelmed by fright. I just sighed that I couldn't find her yet, the one I was supposed to find for master. The one who might hold the answers. I knew she was in this city though, somewhere, I could smell it. ”Well, could you spread that Kurimuzon of the Tsuwamon clan is looking for one who goes by the name of Roxiri, and he will await her at the Silverstone inn, please?” My second question was obviously easier for the woman to answer, as she replied with a simple yes before running off after her son. I knew that the crowd around me would also help to spread the word. So I decided to make my way to the inn, it would not take me long.

One of the girls looked back at me and bit her lip. What were with these girls? I looked at them for a few moments more before deciding to ignore them. After all, they just seemed to be staring. One of my ears twitched, the one with a cross pierced into it. Them seemed to whispering. Whatever. I looked at the books again, wondering if there were any on shapeshifting. Sure, Papa had said not to bring attention to myself. But I could just say that I was interested in them. And the book could help me understand more about being a shapeshifter. Papa had told me that that was why I had left. I felt my eyebrows crease in slight frustration as I scanned the bookshelf in front of me.
It was only once I had crouched down that I found a small book the size of my palm which shone with a small light to the text on the cover. The words stamped in black ink on the shiny silver cover were in the common langauge but when I opened the book, there were many different languages. The markings of many different animals with the common language written under it appeared on the pages. It was if animals had written the book, yet a human had translated it. it's strangeness made me blink before a small smile broke out onto my face. In the back of the book were no names, but it did had a key for the different markings and symbols to teach someone. I closed the book carefully before standing up. A glance at were the girls had been shown that they had probably left already.
I walked over to the counter and placed the book onto it, smiling at the kitsune. They smiled before looking puzzled at the book before smiling again. The second smile seemed a bit strained. What was with these people? He asked me for some money, which I easily got from my pocket. I took up the book, giving the heart shaped potion bottle a last look. where had the girls gone and why so quickly? And without the bottle they had been gawking at as well. I gave the kitsune a small nod before walking out of the store.
A small crowd of humans caught my attention as I stepped out of the shop. A street performer? I wove into the crowd just as it began to spread apart.
"Well, could you spread that Kurimuzon of the Tsuwamon clan is looking for one who goes by the name of Roxiri, and he will await her at the Silverstone inn, please?"
I stopped dead when I heard a voice. I looked around, unable to see the speaker through the humans. Someone...was looking for me? Who was Kurimuzon and the Tsuwamon Clan? Papa hadn't said I would meet anyone while I was travelling. I bit my lip, wondering if I should go to the inn or not. Perhaps it was one of Papa's friends? And if worst came to worst, I could just get away. As the crowd thinned, I decided that yes, I would go.
I walked down the street, looking at the signs for the inn the male had said he would be at. after long minutes, I finally reached it at the end of the main street. I stopped before going in, nervous to meet whoever this was. I shook my head before opening the door and stepping inside.

Just as I had presumed, it did not take me long to reach the small inn named Silverstone, I still had a few followers, but I knew that they would disperse sooner or later, so I calmly entered the inn, pushing the door open with one arm. The Inn that was so lively and full of life earlier, suddenly became silent. A few of the people even fell off of their chairs in surprise and spilt their beverage over their own body. I scanned the room as all eyes fell upon me, and looked for the bar-keep. He was in the middle of cleaning a dirty glass with a cloth, but had stopped upon my arrival. ”I-I don't want any trouble here, Vampire.” I could feel the malice in his words, even though he was so scared. Vampires really were a hated race. But I knew he wouldn't try and start anything, it would only result in him getting the worst of things. A few of the soldiers that had gathered in the corner closest to me had their hands gripped firmly to the hilts of their weapons, ready to try and stop me if I tried something. But they too were scared, I could see it written on their faces as I looked over at them and sighed.
I slowly made my way towards the bar, not to buy a drink, but to rent a room for the night. I would need a place that could serve as my headquarters while I searched for Roxiri Gray, the Shapeshifter traveller of the Gray Family. A family that my master had told me were famous among the Shapeshifters because of their contributions, and Roxiri was the youngest, and only one among the family capable of travelling at the moment. The person whom Master had told me, may know the location of one of my siblings. ”I promise you sir, I mean no quarrel here. I would just like a room to rent for my the duration of my stay here in your beautiful and vast city, and of course, I will pay with interest for your kind hospitality. I will not require any food, nor drink, and I will take any room available to me, no matter of it's condition. I will also not harm any of your customers, or force them to leave, so long as they do not try and attack me.” The bar-keep eyed me suspiciously, but agreed to my terms non-the-less, he most likely did not want to say no, because he knew that he would be able to get a handsome amount of gold from someone such as myself. ”I will also offer you, your inn, and your customers my protection while I stay here, and will allow no harm to come to them.” I knew that this would make my offer seem even more inviting, no matter how much hatred someone has for Vampires, they would not pass on the chance to have on as their free protector. I also knew that this would somewhat make the customers comfortable around me, and allow them to carry on like normal. I didn't want any of them hearing what I am going to be asking Roxiri after all.
I made my way to the end of the room, to an empty table closest to a window. All of the eyes in the room remained locked upon me as I moved, and those closest to the table that I wished to occupy, quickly either scurried out of the inn, or moved to other tables as far away from me as possible, even though I had just said that I would not harm them. No matter, this would make eavesdropping even harder. I removed the scabbard that contained my Katana from around my waist and placed it against the window before taking my seat. I sat facing the opposite wall, but looked out, as if in a daze, of the window. The full moon was as beautiful as ever tonight, the soft glow that it sent out across the sky was truly remarkable.
I knew that it would not take Roxiri long to hear the spreading message that would quickly be known across the entire city, because I was after all, considered a thread to the large city, and to be meeting up with someone here, must be considered quite dangerous. I also knew that it would not belong before the guard captains start turning up here to question my intentions in their cities. I might even be called upon to have a meeting with the king of the land, to either be asked to leave, or to be captured, possibly even to join his royal army as his personal protector. None of which would I have any intention in doing. I rested my chin on my hand as I waited for Roxiri's arrival, she would come, I could feel it. No adventurer would deny a chance to meet up with a Vampire.

I looked around, stepping further into the inn's main room. I didn't even know what this Kurimuzon looked like. Well, he was a male and a grown one at that. By the voice, that much was obvious. But many men drank in inns often, not just the person that was looking for me. Some men glanced at me, probably wondering why such a young girl would come into the main room without moving for a few moments. I looked around, spotting a man that sat alone in one corner of the room. Could this be the person who had sought me out? Well, he did have a crowd around him and the humans seemed to have smelled of fear. So maybe it was.
I walked over to the table where the man sat, seeming in a trance. Was this really the man wanting to meet with me? I guessed so as the humans nearby emitted a fear scent. Now the whole place was staring at me, the girl that actually approached whatever he was. From what I could smell of him over the fear scent, something I had never met. What could strike such fear into humans? I sat across from the man, looking at him mutely.
"You were looking for me?"

At first, I was a bit surprised at just how fast Roxiri had come, I was even more surprised to find that she was alone. I could tell that she was here the moment she got close to the Inn, her scent was easier to detect when it was close, because it didn't smell like any of the others in the city. It was unique and distinct. My lips curled into a smile, though I did not move, not even while she made her way towards me. I could not let her know too soon of what I am, if she didn't already know. I didn't want to scare the poor girl after all. Though, the whispers of the others in the room were starting to annoy me now. Too loud to be called whispers, and all of them asking questions about the young girl that was now walking over to a dangerous vampire. I heard one person saying about her being my next victim. I had to grit my teeth to stop myself from lunging at the person.
I turned my head to Roxiri as she spoke, and smiled at her. So this is what the child of the great Gray family looked like. A human with animal ears, but I knew that she could change her form at will, being a Shapeshifter, so looks wouldn't be important. What I'd have to memorize now, is her scent. So that if I ever have to find her in the future, I will be able to do so with ease. ”Indeed I did, Roxiri Gray. I am Kurimuzon Tsuwamon. Please, take a seat and relax. Would you like something to drink or eat?” My voice was as polite as ever, and I tried to make it sound as kind as possible, I didn't want to intimidate her. Not that she was yet, which surprised me. I'd expected her to be at least a little afraid of me. But alas, she did not seem phased in the slightest. I smiled at this. Finally, someone who could act naturally around me. Maybe I would come to like this girl.
Money wouldn't be a problem for me, I had millions of gold both on me, and stored at my Masters house. Which meant I could buy anything that Roxiri asked for, if she asked for anything, and I would not let her pay for herself, that would be rude of me. I was the one who asked her to meet me here after all. I wouldn't even walk her back to where ever she was staying afterwards too just to be sure that she would not get mugged or attacked for talking with me here. I had a soft sight for young people.

The whispers had grown louder and I felt like turning to glare at them. Some people could just be so rude towards strangers. One of my ears twitched slightly, annoyed by the chatter about the man accross from me and myself. Even if I was about to sit with someone "dangerous", it wasn't any of their business. And even if he tried to attack me, I could easily slip away. After noticing my book was still in my palm, I set it on the end of the table near the window before slipping into a seat across from him.
"Nice to meet you Kurimuzon Tsuwamon. I'm not very hungry so don't worry. But if you don't mind my asking, I was wondering why I have been called to an inn by a stranger." I said with a smile, wondering why they were afriad of him. Whatever he was, Kurimuzon still seemed to be nice. Not the type to fling himself over a table to eat or drink or whatever he did to me. But his scent was different from a human's, which kind of made me want to ask what he was. But Papa had said that was rude and I wanted to make a nice impression on him. I wasn't sure if he was one of Papa's friends but even if he wasn't, I would hear what he had to say.
One of my ears swivelled on my head to the side, towards the closest sitting humans. Why were there so many humans in this city anyway? By how crowded it was, so many of one species were surprising. Even if humans were the largest one, wasn't it strange at all? Perhaps they had been more paranoid about the other species. Last time that happened a few hundred years ago, the Dragon Hunting had happened. Luckily, Dragons seemed to slowly be growing their population back. Papa had told me that a long time ago they had been afriad of shapeshifters after the first one was born. Well not actually "born" but more like "changed".
Papa had told me the legend a lot when I was little and even until I had left. he had said that a long time ago, a human wanted to understand the animals. So they went to one of the Forests and the next time they were seen, they could understand the language of the animals and the next time they visted their village, they could actually change their form. What I didn't get was that I could change into about anything, not just animals. But Papa had said maybe I would find out why.
I gave a side glance towards the loudly talking nearby humans and they silenced, probably wondering why I was the one shooting them a slight glare. I returned my gaze towards Kurimuzon, memorizing what he looked like. That way I could ask Papa if he knew him once I had returned home.

I closed my eyes briefly to try and ignore the whispers around the room, but I couldn't help but listen to them. I was just thankful that it wasn't much longer before the people started to get a little noisy again, most likely waiting to find out who would win the bets and who or who wasn't right about why me and Roxiri were meeting. I turned my attention back to the young Shapeshifter and gave her a warm smile as she spoke, waiting patiently for her to finish what she had say. I was a little surprised that she hadn't asked me who I was, or what I am first, I felt sure that she could tell that I smelt different than these humans, and I could see the curiosity in her eyes. I couldn't help but chuckle a little at how polite she was being. A truly delightful child indeed.
”Are you sure, Miss. Gray? I hear that you have been travelling quite a bit since you left your home, surely you haven't eaten or drank nearly enough to help maintain your body? Though of course, I could be wrong, you are after all, a member of the grand Gray Family. And as for why I asked you to meet me here, I am sorry to say, but you will have to wait a little while longer before I am able to tell you my reasons. I'm sorry for the rudeness of this meeting, but there are things that should not be heard by ears who cannot help but spread rumours around a city as fast as they spread the little message I had asked to be spread around the city. And please, feel free to act like you normally would around people. I sense that you are trying to please me, and give me a nice first impression of you. But, although we do not know each other, formality will not be needed around me.” I hated saying such a long paragraph of words, but I felt it would be easier to get things out in the open now, rather than deal with any possible awkward moments that may come, and they would surely come, in the future of this conversation. Plus, I couldn't help but think that this meeting would be cut short due to the Guards or someone trying to stop this meeting of mine.
My eyes darted to the door, I could hear the clanking of armour once more, and it wasn't because the members of the guard who were drinking in here were starting to leave either. More humans were approaching, the smelt stronger than those in here. Obviously higher ranking guard members come to keep an eye on me and Miss Gray. Not that they would need to, I had no intention of hurting anyone in this city, so long as they did not try and harm me or anyone that I may be with at the time. I narrowed my eyes as not one, but six Guard captains entered the tavern, along with six other members of the guard, all eyeing me suspiciously. I could see the distrust in their eyes, they obviously were certain that I would start something here. Stupid mortals. There were more of them outside as well, guarding the entire perimeter of the Inn, trying to block any exit that I might try and escape from if I did do something here. I could even smell more of them turning up on the streets, flooding it with guard members. I felt sure that this was an act to try and capture me here.
”You will have to forgive me Miss. Gray, it seems I am not appreciated in being in this city, and it may mean that very soon, you and I will have to flee this place so that we may talk further.” My voice was but a low whisper that only I, and Roxiri would be able to hear. I did not want the guard catching on to my plans here after all. I would not allow myself to be captured by foolish humans like this. Their little plan to catch me will fail, if I have to, I will even take Roxiri to my house out in the woods, so as to not captured or eavesdropped on. But first, I would most likely have to gain her trust.
My fangs were just barely visible as I spoke, they seemed to glint from the light rays that hit them and then bounce off, and my deadly crimson eyes looked somewhat dark, and bloodthirsty. I could feel my throat starting to become hot, which meant I would have to feed soon, but I would first have to finish my conversation with the Shapeshifter, I would let her go back home before I started hunting again. I wanted to keep her as a friend, she would become a valuable source of information in the future.

As the man spoke, I wondered what he meant by the grand Gray Family. After all, I thought my only family was Papa. Did I have a larger family then I knew? I tossed the thought from my head, deciding it was unimportant. On my journey, thanks to my animal forms, I had been able to find food and drink quite easily, but some food people wouldn't really think of eating. When he said the people of the city spreading rumours, I believed him. Even if I hadn't heard the rumour he had created, I knew that it had already spread around the city tenfold. Humans liked to gossip. But that also meant if there were any paranoid humans here, they would be looking for me as well. After all, shapeshifters can be quite dangerous.
I nodded at the end of his speech, streching like a cat would with my arms. My ears twitched a few times during this until I settled back into my normal sitting position instead of leaning forward. The clanking of something reached my ears and I raised my nose slightly, taking in some air to see what was coming. A lot of humans and fear scent along with Kurimuzon's distinct unhuman smell. My eyes looked out the window almost casually, looking around to see what was happening. Papa always said to stay calm and to look around as if nothing is wrong. Some city guards and captains had stepped into main room and now looking this way. There had to be more then that though, by the strongness of the scent. I looked at them with a slightly raised eyebrow, though not enough to call too much questions.
I looked back to the table and before anything else could happen, opened my book casually and flipped it to a random page. As Kurimuzon spoke, the only thing that told him I was listening was a flick of my pierced ear. I saw something glint from the top of my eyesight from my slightly bowed head, in Kurimuzon's direction. I kept my head bowed like I was reading but raised my eyes slowly, looking at whatever was glinting. The man across from me had fangs?
I studied them for a moment before wondering what they were for. Too small for a wolf's fang, but too large for a cat's. Papa hadn't told me about many species, mostly the animals and the animal-related species like nekos and kitsunes. And of course humans. I slowly closed the book and tucked it into a small black pouch that hung from a belt I wore. My ears twitched, feeling the stares of the guards and their captians. What was the plan again?

”Ignore them, Roxi, if they make a move, then we will be able to make our escape with ease, though, I'm afraid I'd have to ask you to come with me, you see, I have some very important questions to ask you. Concerning some people you may have met, or at least heard of.” I was now watching the captains with the corner of my eyes so that I'd be able to react to whatever they did. I watched as they all broke off from the main group and walked to ever table in the room, whispering to everyone sat at the table to leave in the inn in a very low whisper, thinking that I couldn't hear them. Which could only mean that they really did want to capture me. My lips curled up into a slight smile as I turned my attention back to Roxiri who seemed to be glancing at my fangs and seemed somewhat confused by them. Which meant that she really didn't know anything about me, but she would soon enough. I felt like having a little fun with the guard captains before me and Roxiri made our escapes to my home in the forest, that is, if she would be willing to come with me.
”You may ask any questions you may still have when we get to my home, but for now, why don't I show you what these are for?” I smiled once again as the sound of metal rubbing against metal filled the room as the members of the guard all drew their weapons. I could hear the sound of strings being pulled and made to tense outside too, which meant that the guard had some archers ready to snipe me and Roxiri if we stood up and tried something. Though, being a shapeshifter, I didn't worry about Roxiri too much. I just hoped that she would be able to handle herself somewhat in the defence. One of the guards walked to the table we were sat at with his weapon drawn, but only stood a little way from us, most likely because he was scared. But I did not care. ”Kurimuzon, will you come quietly?” His words only widened my smile.

I nodded slightly, keeping my expression a calm one. Papa had let me meet some people and mentioned a lot of them. But why didn't Kurimuzon just go to Papa himself? The guards continued to stare at us during this. Would the men really attack someone in such a public place? I saw them split up and speak to the people sitting at the other tables in whispers and small gestures. I knew that if it came to fighting and escaping, I would be fine. Though I didn't carry any weapons and appeared harmless, I could change int oabout anything. I was my own weapon. Through the background noise, I heard Kurimuzon's last statement. I knew that most animal's fangs were for fighting but that didn't really seem to fit his. They would have to be larger to cause damage to someone his size, so what were they for?
I replied with a nod and a curious glance. My sensitive ears picked up bowstrings more then the metal weapons being drawn. Where were the snipers? Even though I could change forms, that wouldn't help much if I was sniped before I completed the transformation. As someone walked over to the table, I recalled what Papa said when something like this happened. A step closer. Lesson One, do not do anything to endager you or your group. Another step. Lesson Two, be threatning, like the desert lizard with his colorful mane, but do not over do it. My ears flicked to the source of the steps, the man with a weapon. Final Lesson, have confidence in your skills. The man stopped short of the table, staying away from us. I heard no more bow strings being pulled, noting that all the snipers were in position. I looked at the man, wondering why he was so afriad. I looked at the gaurd with a blank face except for the small smile in place. Whatever happened next, I had a feeling it would be fun.

I faked sighed a little and placed my head in my hand, but then smiled again as I looked back up at the guard captain and very slowly licked my lips. I could hear my mother's words playing in the back of my my mind ”Don't hurt a human, Kuri, it's wrong.” But I just couldn't help myself, humans were so fragile, so easy to break, and their blood. Their blood was a sweet nectar that danced across my tongue and throat and soothed my burning thirst with sweet ecstasy. Though, Elven blood tasted even nicer, but Dragons blood tasted even better. I watched the Guard Captains eyes suddenly fill with terror as he stumbled backwards, watching the wickedness that played in my eyes. I couldn't help but chuckle, they really were such a timid race.
I slowly licked my lips again and within the blink of an eye, I was in front of the guard captain with my hands on either side of his head. ”Mr Guard Captain, Sir. Why-oh -why, is your head facing the wrong way?” The terror filled guard captains eyes looked at me with confusion before he realised just what I meant. I slowly began to twist the man's head to the side, which caused horrible snapping and cracking sounds to fill the air. I made it look easy, even as the broken bones began to splinter and start to push their way out of the guard captains neck, causing his ruptured veins and arteries along with the nerves and things, to be exposed along with the bone, and send blood spraying everywhere. ”B-Bastard!!” One of the lower members yelled. The snipers all released their arrows the moment they heard the shout, and there was the sound of broken glass, and then of something cutting through the air. I had once again used my greater speed to reach the arrows before they reached Roxiri and me, and had cut them all out of the air with my sword and smiled a wicked grin. ”Who's next?” I whispered in a loud voice as nonchalantly as I could, and completely in a mono-tone.

The nearby guard's eyes filled with terror almost randomly to me. One of my hands, hidden from view to everyone, clenched. The bowstrings were ready to be shot at any moment and the man in front of them seemed so frightened that he could just start to swing his weapon around. But the man only stumbled backwards, which made me slightly nervous. What was going on in the gaurd's head? I turned to look at Kurimuzon only to see he had moved at an amazing speed. What was he? Kurimuzon said something that had barely reached my ears before he began to twist the man's head. I couldn't take my eyes away from the horror as the man's lifeblood splattered over everything nearby, including Kuri and me.
But I finally looked away as a lower member of the guard called out. For a moment everything slowed as the bowstrings were released. As Kuri caught the arrows (when had he gotten there?) I felt my form changing. Only a moment later did I disappear as if I hadn't been there. In truth, I had simply turned into air for a moment in case an arrow hit me. I ignored the sickening thump as the guard Kuri had killed hit the floor. I appeared again as the sound of bowstrings filled the air again. At Kuri's words, a few of the lower guards charged forward, weapon drawn. I jumped from the seat I was in and over top of a guard. I swiftly planted my feet on his chest, using my momentum to knock him down and onto the ground. I jumped from him before he could hit the ground, using him as a springboard. Why were they suddenly attacking? Adrenline shot through my veins as I waiting for more arrows to be let loose.

The sound of something heavy filled the room as I swiftly cut through one of the guards members swords with a grin. The guard member quickly stepped back in fear as his eyes widened. I quickly lunged for him though and sank my fangs deep into his neck and began draining his body of blood. I could feel my true strength starting to come back to me now as I fed, it felt good. It didn't take long for me to be done with the corpse, and threw it away. One of the guys friends suddenly charged me, but I sheathed my sword which caused him to suddenly stop and take a step back. Blood was trickling down my chin as I gave him a sadistic look and forced my palm in the middle of his armour, the armours thickest point. For a few seconds, the guard just looked at me a little confused and stunned, as did the other members, but then, suddenly, the armour started to cave in on itself and I stood back up and smiled. The guards looked dumbstruck at me, then suddenly, the back of the guards armour suddenly exploded along with his back and a great deal of blood and innards sprayed the people who were stood behind him. I couldn't help but roar in a sadistic laughter as the guards around me all fell over in surprise and astonishment.
I looked over at Roxi to see what her reaction was to such brutal combat, surely she should know what I was now? I began to wonder if she'd even now be somewhat scared of me. I couldn't help but chuckle again. Today had been such a fun day. I started to wonder just how long we would be able to continue playing with these humans, it was fun to watch them explode, and hear their bones break. ”SO MUCH FUN! Crimson feathers started to fill the room as I grinned at one of the guards who had stood back up and was shakily pointing his sword at me.

A loud sound filled the room and I missed the sounds of bowstrings. As Kuri seemed to bite a guard, I landed on the ground away from the fighters on my feet and one hand. I watched Kuri in shock as he threw a dead body down and killed another person. My mind froze as I watched the gore going on around me. Never before had I seen something like this and it made my body hold still. Blood and other things littered the air for a moment, scaring everyone. Gaurds and other humans all cried out in surprise and I couldn't move until something caught my cheek and a sharp pain ran across it. I finally began to move as I realised that it was an arrow. A thin line of blood was on my cheek, the wound beginning to bleed quite quickly.
I ignored it though, reminding myself that Papa had said that sometimes I would have to hurt people. My form changed again, this time into a large wolf. Short dark purple fur with a black tipped tail. Dark colored eyes with large fangs and claws. I let instinct take over as a wolf and I pounced on one of the guards, blindly biting and slashing. A metallic taste with I hadn't ever tasted entered my mouth and I spit it out. The man I had attacked laid on the ground underneath me, lifeblood quickly rushing from his neck.
The next thing I knew I was back in my normal form next to the body, retching. My food from earlier came up easily and spilt onto the wooden floor. I was covered with others blood and my cheek stung. Had I just killed a man? My eyes were wide with shock as my body shook. I could still taste blood and sick in my mouth but I could only sit there on all fours. Had I done that? The body lay next to me, scarlet liquid running from it. One of my hands were in it now and I dry heaved, sick already out of me. What had I done?
