Dear all,
So yeah, maybe I'm not so good at fancy coding like Dream and Roxi and Shadow and I wish I was half as good as Kuri, but that doesn't change the fact that I love you all. Really. Oh but not in a creepy way. Am I talking too much? NO. You guys are like a third family to me and that's really special considering I don't even know who you guys are in real life. Even though we have our dead moments and I don't always act as responsible in responding in a timely fashion that I should be, I still feel like everything we've done this year is wonderful.
It's December 31, 2011 over here right now and still a few hours away from midnight. No matter where or when you are reading this, I have to say that 2011 was a frikin' awesome year for myself and for XISIN. I can now truly say that I was (for the most part) active for the entire existence of XISIN this year and even when I didn't post, I popped in almost daily. I mean, I can probably say that I logged on over half the days this year. Even during the summer, when the site was basically dead. It's been a REALLY long time since I found such a commitment to a site and I'm glad that you guys are here.
After the revamp, although it was kind of heartbreaking to see some members get wiped off the face of XISIN, I know that the new people coming in would be more that sufficient to make this place awesome. And guess what, you newbies (and I use that term with respect) are an important part of this site and I am truly thankful for your decision to join this oddly ambiguous site staffed with potentially eccentric people. Because once you realize and appreciate the miraculous wonders in all the people and their characters involved in this place, it makes it difficult to leave. Even with Kuri's current MIA status.
I've got to say that 2011 was a pretty good year for me on XISIN. Even though I never stayed here past 11:00PM (I totally remember the days when I stayed until... really late) I made so much progress in terms of both my posting frequency and the quality of each post. I can't say that I made each post a pearl of a work, but I'm sure that I can be proud of most of the things I've written. Also, I'm happy to say that I am now using a laptop, which should speed up posting. And for those of you who didn't know, I have been using my iPod touch for the majority of my time here. In fact, out of my now 216 posts, less than ten of them were typed on a computer. No kidding.
This year, I also became a staff member (hence my shameless use of staff powers to make this an announcement). Officially a global moderator, but if you've been here long enough you would know that I'm the (unofficial) email writer. They're spontaneous and wacky, but they get the point across and if you've been drafted back to the site thanks to them, then you make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Also, I really like my Jigglypuff profile picture on the sidebar.
XISIN is my online home. Literally. I'll wander about and search for other RP sites because I get bored, but when it all comes down to it, I come back here because I'm familiar with all of you and no matter how long I've been gone, I always feel welcome here. This leads to my next point. Everyone here is friendly and though I never bring too personal issues to the cbox, I can always count on some encouraging support when I have things to complain about; no matter if it's just the bipolar weather here or because I can't be on the internet so late. All in all, XISIN will always hold a special place in my heart and you can count on me to stick around for 2012.
So that was a really long rant and I don't know how coherent it was, but I'm glad you read it.
