Tamesis walked through the streets with a smile on his face. He was in a good mood. He had just finished a job and got a good fair amount of money for it. Of course he had to pay off the guards for turning a blind eye. He did not have to pay them off, but it was much better to keep him on their good side. Who knew when his father was going to want him dead again. He was not going to let that man take him out, and it would be stupid. He still had all the secrets that would be released when he died. He was in a good situation no matter what his father tried to do. He was too easy to read.
He stopped in front an accessory shop and looked at what they had. He was looking for something new to wear. He leaned over to look closer and picked up a cross. He took a closer look at it and smiled. He was going to get it. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold coin. He knew that it was too much for the piece, but he was still looking to get a good reputation with many of the stalls in the city. The best information could be bought from those that people do not pay attention to. He slid the cross into his pocket and made his way forward again. He was going to meet up with his subordinates and find out how they did today. He turned into an ally and made his way up to the roof. From this point on it was not going to take the normal way there.
He looked up at the clear sky and was glad that it was not raining. The roofs would have been to slippery and dangerous. He made his way from roof top to roof top. He took a moment to look at the castle wishing he could enter it through the front gates like his older brother could. However that was not possible anymore. He did not have enough influence there to be sure that he was safe there. He was not going to risk his life so easily. He paused as he almost jumped off a roof. The gap had been to large and he had not even noticed it. He looked around for another route to take to get the the designated meeting spot.

Tyr hadn't been to this city but twice in the last three years. This city was an exception usually. There was much more work in the other two kingdoms. Then again... She may have a job here. The payout was colossal though. She could live her life in grandeur if she could successfully complete this job. So, yesterday she had been invited to the palace. through a side servant's door, of course. Why advertise though? She was only well known by potential clients, not by everyone and their mother, that would be bad for business not to mention bad for her continued existence. Things could go south in a hurry if she was known to be a contract killer, an assassin, one who deals in steel and blood.
Whilst in the palace, she had spoken to a few lords, and even got to see the king. Her reputation had really spread through the right channels, things could be looking up for once. Not likely. She had barely been able to contain her rage in the presence of the pompous, narcissistic, scum that passed for nobles. She was sure it wasn't specifically this country's nobles, but nobles in general. She didn't like them much, how they looked down their noses. How they talked big, like with one flick of a finger, she couldn't send one of her steel bearings through their self-absorbed skulls. She could... and had really considered doing so. In the end restraint won through.
The king offered a job to her. One that, in her opinion, really wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. She had an image of the princling that he didn't want breathing anymore, and that would really help. She had gathered a little info on the job before the question of accepting or rejecting was posed. It smelled fishy. The prince delt in information, and some shadier dealings, but there was only one reason the king wanted him dead that she could find. He was a bastard. Plain and simple. The king couldn't contain himself, or some such kingly thing, and had a bastard. It wasn't revenge. It wasn't something else that was less petty than a kingly mistake.
She didn't like it, but well there really wasn't much choice to decline. She had to put it delicately. She said she didn't know if she could do it. She would need time. What she really needed was to get out of the palace. She'd be able to easily escape if she wasn't surrounded by twenty guards. So she said she'd try, and bring back a souvenir if she succeeded. No promises, no down payment. She did want the option of coming back to the city eventually, but taking a down payment and not delivering on a king? Another good way to get yourself killed.
So here she was, surrounded by a gang of ruffians posing as a client. Someone who needed information. She just hoped he would take an out of town job. She had enough saved from her own previous jobs to be able to pay well enough, she hoped. This gang she was surrounded by, well they were the bastard's subordinates. She had to hurt one, quite badly. He was a grabby fellow, and that was unhealthy when aimed at her. Other than that, they were perfect gentlemen. The had her, swords drawn, sitting on a stool with her legs crossed, slowly moving her glare from one to another, then back again, while she waited for their bossman to arrive.

Tamises noticed an cart of hay passing beneath him and he decided to take the risk. He jumped off the roof aiming for the cart. He landed without much difficulty, but remained hidden in case anyone saw him fall into it. He did not need to cause a commotion right now. He peaked out of the stack and found that no one was looking. He silently jumped up and made his way towards the meeting spot. Luckily he was close so there was not much more walking to do. When he was almost there he entered an ally. He was going to take the secret entrance, but first he needed to check if someone was not following him. Aftr witing a few seconds he pressed in a block and a door appeared. He was using the side entrance today instead of the front entrance.
He made his way through the corridors and into his office. He was going to have to store the papers before he saw the others. He did not want them to read what he had found. They had other important jobs to focus on. This was one he was going to continue on his own. He also placed the cross into the drawer. He did not need the group commenting on how he was spend his hard earned money again. He closed the desk and magi-locked the desk as his front door opened. He had not been expecting anyone to enter the office while he was gone. He looked at the man saying nothing. He was going to wait for an explanation.
The man bowed and looked at Tamises. "Sorry sir. I was just going to leave this note on your desk for when you get back. It looks like there is a guest for you and she is violent. She took out Thomas. Do you want us to send her away." Tamises looked at the man and smiled at him. He took the note just to double check. Looked like he did not need to get punished. He walked past the man. "Thomas probably got what he deserved. Make sure he is attended to. I will meet with this girl and see what she wants with us." He had a bad feeling. He had no scheduled meeting with clients today, which meant a new client or a rare client that barely needs his help. Either it could not be good.
He made his way to the room that the female was waiting in and saw his men keeping an extremely close guard on her. He cleared his throat and they stepped back allowing her to she Tamises and for him to see her. He held back using eye for now. "My name is Raven welcome to my wonderful establishment." He smiled at her and waited for her to introduce herself. He looked at his men and saw that they were still on guard. That was a good thing. Until she was proven to be a non risk she was to be watched.

Tyr's booted foot was kicking, back and forth, just a mere twitch of her ankle caused the effect. It was in short, an impatient gesture. She really hadn't been waiting all that long. less that fifteen minutes, at the most. She just had an impatient nature, especially when weapons were pointed at her. She didn't feel the need to explain her story to this pack of nobodys while she waited. Since the grabby one had been taken care of, she hadn't said a word. They weren't worth it in her mind. The only times she had talked since arriving was when she said she would speak with Tamesis, and that it's healthier if they didn't touch her. She noted the attitude change of the men when the bastard walked in. It was relief. They were still wary, but who wasn't, around someone or something that they are scared of.
That was good, they were scared. As scared as they were alert. Most of them didn't even see what brought down their handsy associate, it was just a twist of the offending hand, and a headbutt to his nose. Though it did break the wrist, dislocate the elbow, and smash his nose. She had been quick to wipe away what little blood that had instantly escaped the ruined nose though, and she looked as composed and serene as any feral psychopath could be. She was sure that were things came down to her actually eliminating her target, they would hesitate after the single flicked ball bearing, which was attached to the wrist band of her glove, sailed through the bastard. The slight hesitation brought on by the loss of a leader, and fear of her, would give her just enough time to extricate herself from the building. Maybe.
She didn't plan on killing him yet. She wanted to get to know him. She understood why the king wanted him dead, but it was for something even more petty than revenge, and that's saying a lot. She looked over him from boots to roots, his real hair was somewhat interesting, she really hadn't seen hair like that before, and seeing the black made her want to snatch the wig right off his head. Of course she didn't. She liked his natural red and gray? silver maybe? It was hard to tell from the portrait she was shown. What was it with her lately. She was meeting cute guys that had extremely bad circumstances surrounding them.
There was the Thief, and the Bastard. One was on the run from the law, and quite interesting. If push comes to shove, they'd make a pretty good team in her opinion. An insane killer, and a lazy thief? What better team could there be? None that she could think of really. Now the other, on the run from a king. Someone she had been hired coerced into taking as a target. Another curiosity. He didn't seem to be hated by anyone but the people he investigated, or got information on. Excepting the king, which meant most of the country's court as well. They were self-absorbed flegm wads and didn't count in her book though. Still, both in bad dilemmas. At least they both worked in the same 'neighborhood' as her line of work. The bad to worst neighborhood of course.
Tyr raised an eyebrow and glanced at the ring of lackeys that surrounded her when he spoke. "Oh yes, wonderful establishment... A great place where your potential clients can come, get groped, and wait at sword point for an undetermined amount of time while they wait for you. It's just peachy. Top drawer. Five star..." The sarcasm in her tone was so thick you could cut it and make a sandwich out of it. Yeah she poured it on thick, but sarcasm would be the temporary jailer of rage. If she kept the sarcasm up, she was pretty sure that no one would get hurt... Maybe.
She continued her sarcastic barrage with, " Raven... Riiiight... No it isn't, but it'll do for something to call you. I'm Tyr, and i've got work for you. You may want to start treating me like a client." With that last, her eyes flicked to a couple of his guards, that were quite uncomfortable under her gaze. she then slowly reached to her side, atop her belt. Where her money purse hung. She pulled it from the belt, snapping the ties that connected it to the belt. The ties were nothing physical, just a deep attraction between the top of the pouch and her belt, which made it stick like superglue. She was going to try not to let on that she was... gifted... and that should hopefully be the only power that would show, if he had been watching really close.
Her hand rose, releasing the pouch half way up so it would sail toward him, clinking dully as it flew through the air. It had quite a few coins and bills from each of the three kingdoms. " A down payment. For your... gathering services. And twice that if you gather what's needed." She finished with a smirk, hoping he was as greedy as some of the other shady businessmen she had met over the last five years. She doubted it though, since he was a princely bastard, and they nobles were supposed to have higher morals than that of us common folken. She would have snorted laughter at that thought, but she wasn't alone, and the person that the laugh was directed at was actually staring right at her. So, she maintained that sarcastic smirk that was hiding the insane rage that was deep within her, as she waited in anticipation to see if he'd accept the job without any details.

Tamises stood there looking at Tyr. However he was doing more than just looking at her, he was studying her and her actions. He could not figure out why such a person would come to establishment. He was used to having a variety of clients and meeting different people, but most of them were through referrals and had the backing of the referrer until they were clear. This girl had no such thing, well at least that was what he guessed since he had no file on her in his hand. He was going to have to watch her actions to judge whether or not to even consider what she wanted from him. He leaned against the wall behind him. He stole a quick glance at his men to gauge their reactions and to see what they thought of her. Their opinions were just as important as his was. He could see that some did not like her and a lot more were scared of her.
When she spoke he noticed the sarcasm right away and wondered if he should deal with her. He did not have to take her as a client, he already had plenty of clients to pay his workers and give him a stable living. when he noticed Tyr reach for something on her he pulled his second hand man to him. "Find out what you can about her, quickly," he whispered to him. He wanted to see if they had anything on her, even the smallest of details. Something about this is strange and he wanted to figure it out. He caught his pouch and looked inside. If he cared about money he would just taken the job. Though he was sure that those around him would just take the job for the money. He was not going to take the job until he knew more. He kept the money on his possession for now, but he was more than ready to return it to Tyr.
"I think you got it all wrong. Apart from the groping this is how we treat dangerous clients with no references. Of course if you have reference I am more then will to see it. There are plenty of people that do not like the information that we gather and sell and are willing to kill me to ruin the group. I can not help but be cautious." He wanted to say more, but that would cause his men to react in a way that would not be advantages to his situation. It was better to keep things to himself. He walked up to her and grabbed a chair and sat in front of her. He was still willing to give her a chance to be a client. However, he wanted to know more about the job before he considered more about the job. He had to rate the job before he did anything further.
"Pray tell what job are you requesting from my organization. I shall see who is the best person to take on the job." He had not intention on assigning th job to himself, but he had a feeling that he might end up doing it himself anyway. He could tell that his men would not do a complete job after seeing one of their coworkers get injured. He smiled ans waited for a response for her. He was just stalling for time for the worker to return and provide him with the file on Tyr. "However if you like I can get some of the men to leave, however until I am sure that you are not going to harm anymore people we will talk in this room."
Tamises wanted nothing more than to talk in his office, but not yet. More importantly he wanted to take off the wig and ask the questions that he wanted to say. However he knew there were questions that were better not asked in public but asked in the privacy of a room. He kept the smile on his face hiding his thoughts making sure not show anything that he was thinking.

Information on her is rare, at least in the last five years. They would probably easily be able to find info on her after the ages of two and before the age of ten, but before that, and after that was rare info indeed. Her current clients tend not to talk about her, not only because hiring her was illegal, but they were much more frightened of her than any of his guards could possibly be. Terrified in fact. Her normal parting words were along the lines of them dying a quite horrible death if they were to tell anyone about her. Every time the death described was quite horrid, vivid, and rang of Gan's own truth. Her former clients seemed to value their lives more often than not, and wouldn't want the deaths formed in her parting words. The only info that was well known, in Daika, was that she was an orphan, she quit school at ten and started training with martial artists. Then poof, that's all folks.
Okay, you pegged me, I'm dangerous. But where I can't gain info, I need the best. I've heard you are the best. Right now you aren't in any danger from me." This rang just as true as those many deaths that had been described to those she had worked for. She really did want this tidbit of information that she was going to hire him for, and didn't plan on killing him until afterword. She had spent a good eight years trying to learn this bit of wisdom, to no avail. Every time she changed cities, which was every few days, a week at the most, she would inquire about the information she was lacking, but still there wasn't anything she could find, at least not without dedicating her life to it, and she wasn't going to do any such thing. He was, more likely than not, a better gladiator in the information gathering arena than she was, she couldn't deny it. She hadn't been around that long, and focused on dealing in steel and blood, not paper and words, and therefore was at a disadvantage.
Tyr heaved a sigh, as she saw that his goons weren't going anywhere. More than anything right now she wanted them good. Them of the leering gazes. At least that's how she saw them. a bunch of leering nobodys. That didn't mean that they needed to be privy to the request for information. She shook her head slowly then, and let her gaze, which was filled with indignant rage, bore through the bastard. It also held contempt, though not for him, but for the lackeys. " The topic is better kept to a smaller audience, I'd not say in front of your buffoons. It's a private matter."She said as she inclined her head and eyes toward said buffoons before returning a more mild look to the leader of this establishment.
Tyr considered what would make him feel more comfortable. She decided that removing her weapons would probably prompt everyone to feel more at ease. She pulled her pair of smithed knuckles, ones that distinctly looked like a pair of cats, with their two sharp triangles that looked like ears, and then pulled off the pouch that was hanging on the opposite side that the money pouch had been. This pouch's strap seemed to be a sling, which was just there for decoration anyway. It was bulging as if filled with grapes, which was close to what was really inside, steel grapes or marbles, which she called bearings. She unlaced the sling and put the knuckles inside before throwing the whole package to the onee she though of as the head lackey, the one that would have put a note on Tamesis's desk.
"Pray have them leave, for now I am unarmed, and mean no harm to you or any of yours at this time.' She said, in a slightly singsong voice, meant to placate the lackeys. She hoped they fell prey to her looks again, though their fear would work against her. Unless they were unlike most men they would feel more safe with her being alone with their boss, because who would dare think that a young, unarmed woman would best their boss. She did still have a single ball bearing that was embedded in holes in her gloves at the wrist, which looked like mere decoration. To anyone else but her, they would be of course, but she wasn't going to say anything about that.

Tamises continued to keep a close eye on Tyr, he had learned a long time ago that what came from a person's mouth could not be trusted until verified. That was why he never paid full price for information until he had verified the information was correct. He remained quite sitting there not ordering anyone to move just yet. He finally stood up when he saw the man he sent out return with a folder. He took it from the man and flipped though the few pages that there was much of her life missing from the data. He had been right to be cautious about her. He looked up at Tyr and tried to figure out what she really wanted from them. Since they had no more information on her, he was going to have to go along with her desire to talk alone with her.
He looked at his men and wondered if he could get them to leave. The only private place in this whole building was his office. They were going to have to talk there. At least she had taken off her weapons, but from what he read she would still be a threat without her weapons. He just hoped that he would be able to stop her before she tried anything. Something was still telling him that she was dangerous. "Alright, we shall talk in private. However my office is the best place to have such a conversation." He then quickly raised his hand up to silence the protests that were about to be raised by the others in the room. He was not going to listen to their objections. He was the boss here and he will not be told what to do by those around him.
"Get back to work everyone. There are plenty of other jobs that need to be completed and I expect all of you to complete you jobs instead of just standing here all day." He then left the room and made his way to the office. Even though Tyr was here they had to still get to work. He walked through the hallways and entered his office. He left the door open and walked to his desk. He quickly cleared the paperwork that he had left on it. He did not need a stranger to see what he was currently researching and whom it concerned. He slide the files into the second drawer in his desk. He took of his wig and put it away as well. He only needed it when he was gathering information and not sitting in his office. He locked the drawer and took a seat.
Tamises office was quite large an well finished compared to the other rooms in the building. Within the southern half was the desk that he was currently at and where he kept his most valuable information. Three chairs surrounded the desk each that supported the person that was sitting in it. Tamises often spent hours here and he wanted the seats to be comfortable. On the northern side was a couch and and an armchair that surrounded a coffee table. He would often entertain the higher class clients with a cup of tea or coffee. On the wall there were an assortment of art pieces ranging from very little value to priceless. They had been gifts which he had not wanted to throw away. Directly across from the entrance was a bookcase containing a variety of books that focused on different topics.
He placed his hands on the table and waited for Tyr to enter the room. He still hand the money in his possession so he still had to listen to what she wanted him to do. He placed the pouch on the table making sure that it was clear that he had not taken the job, he was just listening to what she was going to say. Her file lay right beside the pouch ready to add more notes to the file.

Tyr stood at the same time he had raised his hand to silence his lackeys. She was ready to be away from as many people as possible. She was liable to hurt one of them out of hand. She was seconds from sticking her tongue out at the retreating men, out of pure pettiness and youth. She was able to hold back that instinct, as it would more likely than not incite a riot, and probably get either herself or most of them hurt. Discretion is the better part of valor, right? Riiight. Too bad she isn't the valorous type. Still she only flashed a bare twist of one side of her lips, a world class smirk if she'd ever given one.
She followed a few paces behind the bastard as they moved down the hallways. She was quite surprised that he'd given her his back. It was not very wary on his part. She tried to never give anyone her back, as it was a good way to get yourself killed. She didn't know if it was a mistake, trust, or ego that gave her his back, but she didn't dwell on it much, since she really did want this wisdom that she thought only he could get her. She'd worry about all else after she knew what she needed to know. She gave him the few paces for a couple reason. First it was his office, and probably would have stuff that he didn't want her seeing. Second it would give a chance for him to shoo out anyone who might be within, and third, so that when she came around the corner, she could be ready for any attack that may be waiting for her.
As she moved forward from the corridor and past the door frame, the door moved slowly, the rest of the way to the wall. She had just repelled the door from her slightly, so that she would know if anyone was waiting behind it. There wasn't anyone, and she was relieved. She turned and grasped the knob, swinging it shut after her. Tyr grinned at the sight of his real hair color, glad that it was already time to be honest with one another. She had thought that would come later, after she told him what she wanted to know."Ahh, good it's truth time, Tamesis. By the way, the wig doesn't do you justice." She said, amusement lighting up her eyes.
As she was talking she walked to the couch and plopped herself down with minimal grace. She wasn't really here to impress the bastard, so she could probably relax for now. She sat back, both feet to the floor, and skirt smoothed between her knees, still grinning. "So, I'll start, as a courtesy. The deal is... I'm a contract killer. Your father is trying to coerce me to kill you. Don't know if I can really decline... but... well, I need something from you. I'm not a complete fool when it comes to gathering information, but there's a bit I haven't ever been able to get." She said all this in fully automatic rapid burst, and in a matter of fact tone. It was all true, since they were alone, she really didn't have any need to lie.
" This is what I'm really offering you. Not to kill you... In addition to the money I've given you already. While you hunt for the info, I can either help, or just stay out of your hair. If you succeed, then I'll completely deny the king, and beet feet to another kingdom.. If I can get away after declining that is." She was still on full auto, and reciting this whole speech from memory, in a nearly monotone voice. This sounded like an insanely fair deal to her, but then again it wasn't her life that someone was after. It really all depended on his pride, and if he thought she wouldn't be able to kill him. " The information I need is... The location and names of my real parents. Nothing more, nothing less."

Tamesis leaned back on his seat looking at Tyr as she sat down on the sofa. But what surprised him was how she just told him why she was here and the deal for his life. He had not expected her to bring it out so quickly without going through a long conversation worth of false answers until one of them were caught in a lie. Well at least that made that whole conversation go to the next step. Discussing details of the job. Even if he was good at gathering information he still needed some starting points to start an investigation. He mentally paused when he realized that he had decided to help her find her parents. This was going to be troublesome, but he was still not going to admit that he had agreed to take on the job.
"I figured that much. No one comes into this place with that much money and just wants me to gather information. Not to mention that your file was too empty for someone who had that much money." He got up and threw the file he had on her on the table. The first few pages had all the basic information gathered on Tyr. However the last page was different. Only one word was written on it 'assassin'. "You should not doubt my second in charge. After all he was the former assassin himself. Took me a while to convince him to join my team. Well after he tried to kill me. Not the best t killing, but when it comes to reading people I trust no one else." He sat down on the armchair and looked at Tyr. If they had met on any other occasion he would have never guessed that she was an assassin.
"You're not the first and won't be the last. I just wish he would just give it up. Of course I keep it a secret from the others. Most of them rely on me more than they wish to admit. They are probably the only reason I am still alive today. However when it comes to information you have come to the right place. That is if you mind some not so legal actions to gain your information. If I do not have the information now, I will have to use the different methods to acquire it." He looked at Tyr and turned on his sight. Knowing what a person was allowed him to guess what their parents were. He blinked when he saw something wrong with something in front him. He turned off the sight and everything returned to normal. He had determined that she was not entirely human which was a small start. He rubbed his eyes making sure not to turn as his sight again.
"However to start I need all the information you have gathered so far. I normally need a starting point and with no names or locations I needed to pick your mind." Though it was not important to him whether he lived or died those around him might miss him. To him whether he lived or died he would still get the last laugh. His father would be ruined and that was all that was important to him.

Tyr sat silently through his speech as he did for hers. When the bastard said that she wouldn't be the last she couldn't help but think that if he didn't find the information that she wanted, she very well could be the last assassin. She was counting on him to tell her who her parents were. She couldn't just deny any bigwigs from the court without some kind of payment from someone, right? Then her thoughts wandered a little, thinking that if he did good, she may even accept a job from him, on discount even. She was pretty sure he'd have someone in mind if it were offered him. She didn't know, but her first guess would be that the tables would flip completely, and she would have an even bigger target than a bastard lordling. It would be hard, and extremely expensive for this bastard, but she would accept killing his father if it were asked of her... After he completed the job she posed to him of course.
She had noticed the surprised blink he had given as he was looking at her and wondered about that as well. Did he somehow know about her gift? It was what her Kenpo Sensei had called a 'Fragment'. He explained what he meant later, after he was sure. He said that it was a fragment of the power of Gan, or God if it do ya. He had seen a couple other people with gifts, but they were all different though some overlapped somewhat. It was said that no two people have the exact same fragment, nor does any one person have more than one. He didn't say though whether it was a family thing, or that she was just favored by Gan. She didn't really care about the semantics of the gift, just that she had it. It had served quite well over the past five years, and had let her live like a noble herself. In addition to that, she was getting payed to do what she liked to do. Which was killing people of course.
"I really don't care how you get your information. As long as it is accurate." She said with a little chuckle. She didn't giggle, that sound had been killed at an early age." You are going to have to start where I started, at the boarding school where I was abandoned. The person who took me inside is seven years dead, and when I went to investigate, they tried to incarcerate me." She didn't whether or not the castle guards that came to take her had been given prior instructions to do so if she started asking questions. It could have just been the fact that the teachers and other staff were just deathly afraid of her, and had been since she was very little, And boy did they have their reasons. She wasn't sure though, and she suspected that something fishy was going on.
She had only had a few mishaps when she had lived there. Like her entire room's objects floating while she slept. A classroom turned upside down, with all the desks clinging to the ceiling. A liquefied cat or two. Oh and you can't forget what happened just before she left. The entire east wing had been imploded. That was the older kid's wing, they had made fun of her and her only friend. She suspected that they had accidentally killed her actually. The first was on accident, the second was a prank. The staff still thinks that classroom is haunted to this day. The last, well she had been insane by that time.
The last, was her first real premeditated act of mass genocide. When they were sleeping, she crept in there silently, and concentrated on a single pen for ten minutes. The pen turned black and it sucked everything, truly everything. Even the air around it was pulled in, sounding like a tornado, and making it hard to breathe. She was the only thing that was unaffected by the attraction of the darkness that had once been a pen. She watched in fascination as the kids were turned into pink mist then crushed into the sides of the pen. It became a growing and pulsing black ball by the time the wing had been demolished. She was just able to cut all ties to the ball, destroying the attraction to it, making it just hang there. Until she added a repelling force between it and the ground it just hovered. She had been lucky everyone else was asleep and very slow to react. It gave her time to dispose of the ball and flee unknown in the night.
Her room had been the closest to the wing that was demolished, and it took the wall that was adjoining it, as well as everything else that was in that room, including her own roommates. No big loss, they were a cackling mass of gossiping lordling girls. She didn't really like them anyway. That night it seemed that everything was right, and those who should be dead were. She restarted her life with nothing but the clothes on her back that night. It was the biggest turning point in her life as well as it helped her decide that genocide was her true calling. The staff had thought her dead until she came back and started asking about who her parents might be. The castle guards were prompt, faster than she had known them to be at least. She was almost caught by surprise, but managed to escape though. There was just way too much stuff to throw at them in the immediate area.
She wasn't going to voice all that had just flashed through her mind, her reminiscence of returning to the school, to the bastard she was hiring. The wing that she had demolished had been repaired by that time. Most of the original staff that had cared for her when she was little were dead. In addition to all that... She still hated the place with a passion. The kids. That was it, those mean-hearted kids that she had grown up with were still there. In their last year of schooling and etiquette. The staff was pretty bad too, but nothing like the kids, always making sure she knew she was a nothing. That she had no parents. Most important that she would never amount to anything, because she wasn't noble born like they were. She was only at the school on the sufferance of the dean of the school.
The dean was still alive at least. He was the only person in the school that treated her with any decency whatsoever. He even had respect for her, and how she had persevered through the ordeal of childhood without parents of her own. It was too bad that she hadn't been able to meet him when she had returned to the school. Maybe. Unless he saw her insanity, which was lingering just behind her eyes most of the time. That day, he was at the castle. He was always being called in by the lords and ladies to tell them how their children were doing. He had confided in her once that he hated going to the castle, because of how self absorbed the nobles were. She shared the same opinion, especially after meeting some of the nobles of this kingdom. They were trash, but she had to go where the money flowed sometimes, and was just able to keep herself from turning a few of them into naught but pink mist like the older kids of the boarding school.
All of these thoughts came and went in a few seconds. She hoped her face remained as blank as it did when she was talking. "Anyway, start in Daika. I'm pretty sure I was born there, because I was just an infant when I was abandoned there. It's the one just outside the east gate of the castle and court." She said, softly. Then she gave him the name and number of the big building. When she said the name, it came out as a growl. It never failed. She hated that place so much that even saying the name weighed on her soul just a little. I was dropped outside in the dead of night. Only the person who brought me in saw who had brought me, and he's long dead. Think you can do it?" She asked, trying not to let hope creep into her voice. Yeah, complete failure on that, of course. It didn't creep, but rang out, clear as a bell, because of the contrast between it and her normal haughty, sarcastic, or rage-filled tones.

Tamises was not happy that he had to make a trip to Daika. Not one bit, but he wrote down the address. This was not going to be an easy job, but if there was any trail to follow he would find it. After all his survival was on the line. He just wished it had not been in that country. Why did his jobs require him to leave the comfort of his city. He had only been to Daika a couple times but the times he had gone he had a bad experience. It did not help that doing business there was much more dangerous since not many people knew about him and his operation. He got up and made his way to his desk. "If there is anything to find there I will find it. I may not be a legitimate child, but I do still have some pull when it comes to the nobles." He did not mention that it was mostly because they where his clients or he was blackmailing them for some benefits.
He removed the lock on the top drawer and pulled out an information dossier. He might as well kill two birds with one stone. He could deliver the item personally instead of sending another. He looked at Tyr. "One more question. What are you? I can tell you are not entirely human, but what you are I can not tell." He was not going to ask originally, but it looked like he was going to needed to know more about the person that he was going to be working with. Who knew when she was going to find him useless and try to kill him. He needed some advantage if he wanted to survive and to Tamises information provided him with the advantage. He slide the dossier in a pack and pulled out the cross and a chain. He was going to bring the thing with him for good luck. He guessed that he was going to need it where he was going.
There was one problem for him. How he was going to get there. He normally traveled around in Sanchu and that was with some one else from the organization. However he did not want to involve any of the members in this search. This was his job to complete and Tyr was going to help him complete it since she wanted the information. He wondered if he could even get a horse right now or was it better to go by carriage. He wondered if he should spend some more to be comfortable or spend less and get there a little bit faster, but more tired. After a few moments of thought he decided to go with the carriage. He really did not want to ride a horse for that long.
When he was done thinking he looked up back at Tyr. Even though she had been truthful about this all, something did not seem right. He was going to have to be careful about this job. He just wished he could figure out what was bothering him about it. He was just going to have to wait and see. The answers he needed were in Daika. He just hoped that the feeling he was getting would disappear once he finished the job. One thing was for sure, his father hired a strange assassin this time.

He had some pull when it came to the nobles, did he? Yeah, she supposed he did, though it was more a pulling of their assassins, their killers, the hidden side of the noble court. The thought just popped into her head. She didn't voice the thought, but she couldn't hold back the incredulous look that she shot his way. Her left eyebrow was cocked and a twist of dry humor was on her lips, and she couldn't help it. It was a pretty funny thought, at least to her, that he may not know the situation he may be facing in the near future.
He continued, and said something that really shouldn't have been put the way it was. Was he suggesting that she wasn't human? Some kind of monster? A freak? Oh, that would just not do, not at all. The humor that had been on her face a moment before vanished in a hot second, like a snowball in hell. Her eyebrows furrowed, and the rage that was usually boiling just out of sight behind her eyes roiled to the forefront. It was an insane and murderous gleam that was in her eyes now, one that had controlled her actions in the past, and usually resulted in someone's death or permanent disfigurement. "Did you just imply that i'm some kind of mutant freak?" It was said slowly, and one syllable at a time, in a low and completely calm tone, which belied the insane rage that was dancing in her eyes. The tone just didn't match, and that made it all the more scary.
The leap in logic wasn't a big one for the girl, but it would take mostly anyone else a few seconds to catch up, especially if the 'transgressor' hadn't really implied any such thing. It was too much, the crazy side of her told her in reasonable terms that she might as well kill him. It thought he was rude, and they could live life quite well with the reward money that his father offered. The rest of her screamed that she needed him, at least for the time being. During this internal struggle, she raised a hand toward him, fingers splayed except the middle and thumb, the former under the latter, thumb holding the middle back. It made a rough O shape as it was. Then the ball that was in the wrist of her glove quickly rolled from her wrist up along her thumb until it stuck on the curved middle finger, where the thumb met it.
This ball bearing was special, It was what she called a banshee shot. It had snake like grooves slithering all over the diameter of the ball, which would displace the air around it as it moved. A wail resounded in the large room as her finger flicked forward, toward the bastard that had called her a freak. But at the last second her sane mind had slightly adjusted her aim, it was just over his right shoulder, to the side of her head. As the ball moved, it started glowing red, like a meteor entering the atmosphere of the world, The friction and speed of the shot was great enough to burn the air in the immediate vicinity of the bearing, and when the ball passed his head, there was an oven hot wave of displaced air that wafted over his shoulder and head, bringing the smell of burned ozone, smelling like a lightning bolt just struck inside the room.
She had added her special brand of repulsion to the ball so it would leave her finger ad an amazing rate, and be pushed from that point to even greater speeds. The power had been fueled even more by her complete rage and hatred for those, imaginary or not, that made fun of her. She had been made fun of constantly in life until about five years ago, ans still harbored a grudge for each and every one of the people who had, deceased or not. The passing of the ball through the wall had left a smoking hole in it, about the size of a doubled up fist, the second wall on the far side, a hole about half that size, and the third was the size of a grape. The steel shot was embedded deep in the material of the fourth wall it had come in contact to, which was slowly smoldering, close to bursting into flames as the shot cooled.
Unless He had been using his sight at the time of the shot, it would almost seem that she had a completely crazy amount of strength in her hands. But if he was, he'd see a bright aura around her hand, and the ball that left that hand, which would look the color of a freshly bloomed orchid, a bright and vibrant purple. " I am human, and don't you dare say otherwise. It may be the last thing you say." She stated, in the same tone she had just used. The cold and quiet ultra pronunciation would still probably be scary, even though the fire in her crimson eyes was being tamped down slowly. It wasn't her concern if he thought otherwise, but if he ever voiced that opinion in her presence there'd be trouble. For all she knew she was human, just with a gift, better than the rest you could say.

Tamises had meant no ill will in his question. What he had seen with his sight was not normal and he wanted to know what caused it. He did not want to get that confused every time he saw a similar being. He had made it a habit to appear like he was the most informed out of everyone he met and he could not allow himself to slip now. He had to know why his sight had done that. He had not known that it would do something as make her angry at him. He quickly took a note to word his quests much more careful in the future when he was asking her something. However he first had to deal with her up coming out bust. He did not need his sight to know that she was about to do something.
He turned on his sight just in case there was some truth he would find in this attack. He knew nothing about her or any possible powers she had. He was hoping his sight would at least allow him to have some sort of defense to the attack. However all he could see was vibrant purple on he hand before the bearing flew past him. He fell down just as he felt the heat and remained there for a couple seconds. He had just realized that this girl was more than capable of hilling him if he took the job. There was no way he could mount a defense to what he had just seen. His father had finally gotten serious about taking him out. It looked like he was going to have to stop playing around and get serious as well. Until know he had only face weak assassins that had been easy to take out or convert to his side. He was worried if she was going to keep his word about not killing him after the job. All he had was her word and that was not enough for him. However he dared not to ask for anything more than her word.
He got up and dared not to looked what the attack had done to the wall. He tuned off his sight and looked at Tyr again. "I am sorry I did not mean to call you anything but human. It just that well my sight did something it normally does not and I wanted to know why. I will be sure to be careful about the questions I ask you next time." He made his way to the hallway just in time too see his second in command show up worried after seeing the holes in the wall. "I'm fine. Tell everyone to calm down and fix the walls before I get back." The man nodded and left. They really did have to much trust in their leader. He closed the door and leaned back on it. Since Tyr was still in the room he could not let show how scared he was. He forced his hands to remain steady.
"We are both going to Daika, but I will go to the address on my own. I just need you to protect me until I get the information that I need. An assassin like you should be able to handle that." He had gone straight to business not wanting to spend any more time on the topic that had gotten her angry. If she was going to tell her anything he would let Tyr decided when the right time was. He stood straight up and opened the door. "After you." There was no way he was going to let her out of her sight this time. He was going to be much more careful this time.

Tyr sighed softly. She hated letting her rage get the better of her sometimes. Usually it was quite useful, people who annoyed her were better to not be in the immediate vicinity of her. It'd be better if they were dead, as a rule. Though right now Tamesis was the exception that proved the rule. Hopefully when he wasn't as useful anymore, he wouldn't say silly things like what he had said earlier. Don't Ask Me Silly Questions, I Won't Play Silly Games, I'm Just a Simple Psychopath and I'll Always Be The Same. It was like a mantra that she lived by, someone said something stupid and it came to the same result. A good bludgeoning usually by her fists, or another blunt object that was in the immediate area.
She was still stamping down the flames of her rage when he was standing again, speaking to her. " Just don't let it happen again, and we should be kosher. I am human. I know that much. But, I have a gift, I can attract or repel things from one another. Don't ask me how it works, I don't get into the semantics of it. It just works, and it allows me to pursue my job and hobby. One of my teachers called it a 'Fragment of Gan's power', whatever that means." She replied, her tone getting less and less annoyed as she spoke. The rage was finally completely under control by the time she had finished speaking. She watched him go to the hallway, and she stood when his back was to him, ready to leave the newly acrid smell of ozone and smoke. He came back in and turned the door, as she was approaching him.
It didn't matter how scared or troubled he was to her right now, though it may matter later if he couldn't figure out what she needed. Then the more fright the better, It's just fine to make a target suffer a little before completing the job. Actually it was more than fine,it was fun. She didn't do it often, not on a job at least. Doing that was more something she did in her spare time, rather than while working. It's the end result that was needed while working, the death that came at the end of the path, the death that payed her so well. " Ies, it shouldn't be too hard to keep you safe. Except when you are away from me, in the boarding school. Actually, if people know I'm with you, they will be more likely to steer clear of you. At home, the thugs of the street fear me much more than your lackeys do. Oh, talking about your lackeys, mind retrieving my weapons on the way out?" she said in a dry tone that was edged with just a little bit of humor.
She was pretty sure that if she gave him her back right now, he wasn't going to do anything. The experience of her gift was probably too fresh in his mind to let him decide to try to get rid of her. She slipped around him, setting up a slight repulsion between them it was just a very small thing, so she would know if he was close enough to be within striking distance. She would feel just a slight push from behind if he came within five feet of her. She strode down the hallway, the memory quite fresh and telling her which way was out. She made her way briskly, well as briskly as her short legs would take her while walking at least, to the exit and outside of the building. She felt just a little better being outside, because she knew she'd probably have trouble if she had to face them all at once. She didn't wait for him, just walked, knowing that his longer legs would allow for him to catch up, even if he had to stop to grab her pouch of weapons on the way out.

Tamises listened the the explanation of her powers and it became to clear to him what the sight had shown him . A distortion is the area and the concentration of the ability. Well at least he could tell when she was going to attack. However he had no defense to stop it. Unless he found someone with a similar ability he was stuck having to do what she said. He hated being in such a position. He had started this organization so that he would not have to follow what his father told him. He did not want to heard that he was a useless son and that even though he was a noble he would never be given any power. Sure he had not been given the power his brother got, but he had powerin the underworld and that was what important to him.
The last thing Tamises wanted to do was return her weapons to her. She was deadly enough as she was, but he had no choice in the matter He had no desire of making her angry again. He left the room and locked it. They would fix the inside of his room when he got back. He slowly made his way to the room they had put Tyr's weapons. He picked it up and made his way to the exit. The bag was slightly heavier then he thought it would have been but he did not mind carrying it. He just had to finish the job and prey that she would not kill him. He did not think he could convince her to not kill him without finding her parents first. So he was going to do that. Anything to take his mind off of what happened earlier. There was one good thing. His hands were no longer trying to shake.
He made his way through the corridors catching up with Tyr. He did not stop to grab another wig since they were leaving town. They were leaving the country. He normally wore it on jobs within the town. Plus he was going to use his family name while working this job. He had to look like himself. Well that and he did not want to enter his office right now. He did not want to look at the hole that was in the wall. He caught up with Tyr as he reached the entrance of the building. When they left the building he made his way to the stable making sure that she was in his sight all the time. He had no intention of letting her out of his site after showing such a display of power.
It was his lucky day. There was one carriage left and it was the best one they had. He walked up to the driver and handed him a small pouch of gold. "Take us to Daika. If you do anything funny you will regret it dearly." He showed the tip of his blade just to show how serious he was. He had not intention of letting the driver do anything other than direct the horses. The driver nodded and then opened the door to the carriage. Tamises tossed in the bag of weapons and waited for Tyr to go in. He was not going to enter first. That would mean taking his eyes off of her for a second and he was not willing to do that. "I will show you father what I worthless son can do," he whispered to himself. He was going to find her parents and then he was going to pay his father a visit. This game had gone on long enough. He was going to have to remind him the dangers of playing such a game.
