Balenth made his way through the silver flats. He really liked coming here. The grass always made him comfortable even when he was in his dragon form. However today he was in his human form. It was not safe for him to travel around as a sdragon. For some reason humans always saw them as creatures to be hated. But Balenth did not start to hate humans until much later then that once they hurt him. He shook his head at those thoughts. He was trying to be a better person after meeting Axel. She had showed him that there was some hope for humans though it was small. So he decided to give them another chance. However he still was not wuite reasy to eneter a village and live amounf them. He preferred places much further away for where humans lived.
He continued to walk through the grass until he stumbled upon a large patch of burned grass. He looked up to the sky. it was a clear day though it was slightly cold. Though he did not mind the cold. The wheter showed that this was not due to a strom so what had caused the grass to burn. He walked into the burnt grass and then smelt the smell he had hand been ignoring. He smelt blood. Humans had fopught here and burned all this grass down. He growled. How could they be so selfish. Did they not know how long it took fot the grass to grow as high as it did. Normally it would not be a problem because dragons like him would often come and fix the grass by usinf the flow of nature but there were few with his powers left. H mad his way to the center and placed his hand on the ground. He was looking for something.
He felt the glow of nature around him. Luckily apart from the burnt grass and blood that had been spilt the land was fine. With his help it would nto take long for the grass to grow back to its orginal size. Still it was really sad that he ahd to do this in the first place. He released his powers into the ground and ordered the grass to start to grow again. It did not take long for it to listen to him and the grass began to sprout from in between the burnt grass. He just hoped he would be done before anyone noticed what was doing. ((And that my folks is how nature is fixed in Xisin. Up Balenth goes around and fixes it for all you people )

The smell of a fire still hung in the air. Although I couldn't smell it myself, because I am after all, only human. I could smell the singed Earth and burnt grass through the noses of the two large Wyverns currently walking behind me. Sora was scanning the area for any sign of life that may have caused the large fire and Tsuchi was mourning the loss of the pretty grass that she loved so much, as we slowly approached the large black sooty patch. ”Why would anyone do such a horrible thing?“ Tsuchi cried in her mind as a loud sobbing like noise filled the air. ”Humans... there was a fight“ Sora's rough voice broke into my mind as his head moved from left to right, and then back again. ”And some other creature I've never seen before. There were three of them, and numerous humans... The humans had them greatly outnumbered, but were losing. The mysterious beings fled. But one was injured.“
It always amazed me how Sora could get so much information out of scene as simple as this, and it always gave me a headache to pay to much attention to what he was thinking at times like this. ”Someone's here.“ Tsuchi hissed as her tail started to swing behind her and her large green wings spread. Both she and Sora lowered their heads, ready for anything that might happen. Their battle positions. My head snapped forward as I pushed more of my conciousness into Tsuchi's mind, to see what she could see. And sure enough, there was a human male stood amongst the remains of the patch of burnt grassland. But I managed to pick up something my female wyvern friend had missed. This male didn't have the scent of a human. It was a weird blend that I couldn't quite differentiate. This made Sora more on edge as he spread his wings, ready to take to the skies where he would be more of a threat to what ever this person was.
”It's.. making the grass grow.“ Tsuchi's bewildered thoughts echoed around both mine and Sora's minds as both Rathian and Rathalos seemed to calm down somewhat. I pulled my mind from hers as I stared at the blurry figure through my human eyes, and kept my body tense, and my hand on one of my swords. Just in case.

Balenth continued to urge the grass to grow wanting to eliminate all traces of the damage the humans had done to it. That was until he sensed the presence of others in the field. He first tried to figure out if he could ignore them until he found out that they had noticed him as well. After all why else would he be sensing hostile intent. He gave the grass a command to continue before disconnecting and standing up. He wondered what to do. He could turn around and possibly face a fight or run. Though he doubting running was a good option. He really was not in the mood to deal with anyone right now. He pondered for a couple more second before deciding to turn around. He was a dragon there were a few people that would risk fighting a dragon.
When he saw the two large Wyverns he entered a defensive position but did not back down. They had entered his territory. He glared at them as the grass around him changed slightly. "You two look quite aggressive. Mind if I ask why?" He said while smiling. He was holding himself back. This was his territory but he had been gone for quite a long time so he was going to hold himself back. Plus he wanted to let the grass finish growing first. He continued to look at the two Wyverns without even noticing the human that was with them. For once in a really long time he was getting territorial.

It annoyed me that the male didn't seem to notice me, and further more because he didn't seem at all scared or threatened by my large Wyvern siblings. ”Siblings?“ Sora's voice boomed into my head as he slowly turned his to look at me in the eye. I couldn't help but chuckle softly as I gently patted his rough and warm scales with my small hand. Small compared to his large bulk anyway. ”You guys are like brother and sister to me, you know that.“ I smiled as Sora turned his attention back to the boy in front of us. Tsuchi's giggle like growl shook the ground beneath my feet, and I laughed right along side her. Though, I was sure that by now the boy would be annoyed that we seemed to be ignoring his question, and his presence in front of us. So I decided to finally answer.
”We aren't sure what you are. You smell, different. But appear human. Like me. But you're not, are you? We've never come across a being like you before. So it's natural that we would be anxious, and on guard.“ I often spoke as though I was all three of us at once when we were in company, it annoyed both Sora an Tsuchi greatly that they were incapable of speaking for themselves, though, they would often push their minds into those before us, if they proved to be trust worthy enough. I was sure that the seemingly young male would notice me now that I had spoken up, but I wasn't sure what his reaction would be. He seemed very territorial. Too territorial for a human, especially considered that this was free land that nobody owned or controlled. As fat as either of us were aware anyway.
”Ask him if he did this to the beautiful land.“ Tsuchi's voice growled in my head as she started to once again glare at the boy, fully believing him to be the culprit of the burnt ground behind him. Though, Sora wasn't so sure. He could feel magic coming from the boys body, and slowly spread itself through the grass as it slowly started to once again grow. I decided to wait to ask her question, until we had more conclusive evidence as to who destroyed the beautiful grass.

Balenth looked at the two Wyverns and waited. He had all day for an answer and he had no need to rush it. He had loved long enough not to care about the amount of time it took someone to answer. Yet he paused when he saw human with them. He looked at the human and tilted his head. He looked at the Wyverns wondering why they were with a human. He kept his gaze on all three of them the time. He could not let his guard down until he was sure that he was safe from being attacked. This is not a good thing. He had no idea if he would be able to fight against two Wyverns and a human. He could not help help but cast a glare at the human. He really did not like them. However he stopped when he realized what he was doing. He did really did not want to fight with those around him he just did not want to give them more reason to be aggressive.
"Well being aggressive makes my kind act aggressive in return. Well that and I really have no like for humans no matter what this disguise says." Balenth said. He really had no intention of telling them that he was a dragon yet. Well he would have told the Wyverns if he had not seen the human. It was the human that had made him decide not to reveal his identity yet. There was no way he was going to tell a human he was a dragon unless the boy found out himself.

I watched the male curiously. He jut confirmed what we already knew. He's not human, but something else, taking the disguise of a human? But why? Was he scared? I looked up at Tsuchi, not Sora for the answers. Tsuchi was always the best at reading emotion, and understanding. ”Not afraid, just nervous.“ Her reply came quicker, quicker that I had imagined. So, this young male was nervous around us. ”Not us... you...“ My eyes widened as I looked up at the green Rathian. The words seemed to hurt her somewhat, just as they had hurt me. Even Sora began to slowly lower his guard as he put his muzzle against the back of my head. ”Don't take it to heart little one. Many react to humans this way. For so long have they hunted kinds other than their own. You know this all to well.“ It was Sora who comforted me, not Tsuchi who usually performed this motherly role. My gaze dropped the ground as I remembered the hunting. The hunting that my father had taken part in. Taken pride in. The hunting that I myself, had been destined for, that I had somewhat partaken in. That had given me the swords currently strapped to my waist. I loathed hunting now, abhorred it. Hated it. Since meeting my Wyvern brother and sister, my world had been flipped upside down. I, now along with them, was the hunted, not the hunter. Hated and seen as nothing but game for sport. Anger slowly began to rise in my body, Tsuchi felt this and game me a soft nudge with her nose to try and calm me.
”Do not worry, we do not hate you for it Drake.“ Her large lids closed over her large red eyes as she gently rested her head on my shoulder. I too closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around her neck and hugged her tightly. While our guard was down, Sora kept watching, watching the male for any signs of a threat, of a possible attack. ”His words confuse me. He could mean any number of races. Dragon, Werewolf, Warlock, Ogre, Orc.“ Sora sighed softly and slowly began to lower his head. Tsuchi's head withdrew from my shoulder as she slowly turned her attention back to the male, I turned too to face him. ”We too, hate humans. For killing our kind. Killing our mother. Our father. Or siblings.“ This was true, for all of us. We had all lost our family to humans. To their greed. I clenched my fists as I thought of my father, my mother, my little sister. But quickly cast the thoughts away before rage could totally overwhelm me. Sora would not like that I could lose my cool so easily. ”We mean, those who have been harmed, hurt, in anyway by the vile, vermin of a race. No threat.“ My wyvern siblings agreed with me as I spoke. Both slowly standing to their full heights again, with their tails lowered, and their wings folded neatly behind them.

Balenth lowered his defenses but do not completely lower his guard. He looked at them and listened without saying a word. The words he said made him remember her and what had happened which caused his face to darken for a second before he stopped himself. He hated human that was true but it was not like he did not like some of them. There was those who he held a strong attachment to even if they were gone. That did not mean that he trusted the human ans what he said. However the grass around him had returned back to the original focus of returning to his former glory. That was the least he could do to fix the horrible thing the humans had done. However he did not take his gaze off of the three of them the whole time. He still did not trust them. It had to be his territorial side talking. He had no intention of letting that part calm down.
"Well then does it not seem proper to introduce yourselves if you mean no harm. After all it seems like you were the aggressor." Though he knew the land did not belong to him it was still his territory when it came down to it. He made his home in this region and therefore it was his territory and he would not share it with dragons or any other species related to them. He also had no desire to introduce himself yet and even if he did there was no way he was going to tell them he was a dragon. Then there was no point of a disguise. It seemed to him that they were still unsure what race he was and he was not going to reveal that card just yet.

”Because we are not normal Brothers and Sister, we are always hunted by those who do not think it right for us to be travelling together. But we have known each other since Tsuchi and Sora's birth. It was I that raised them from eggs when I found them alone and struggling in their den, after my own home had been destroyed.“ It was the first time that I had spoken in the first person to the male in front of us, and I could tell that it annoyed my Rathian sister and Rathalos brother, because they threw me weird looks, both scared for my protection. They both stepped closer towards me, Sora in front and Tsuchi just slightly behind him now. Shielding me from view, and from harm from any possible attack. They still didn't trust this strange creature. But I felt annoyed that they were treating me like nothing but a child, when I'm older that then are!
”You're smaller than we are, it's only natural for us to protect you, Drakey.“ Tsuchi's nickname added to my annoyance as I just folded my arms across my chest like a youngling and looked away from her large green scales.

Balenth laughed when he saw the Wyverns protect the human so quickly. He was not even poised to attack. However he did not do anything else. He had gained the names of the two Wyverns. That was part of his question answered. Though he still did not wish to back down and relax yet. No it was too early to do that. He still did not know their intentions. Until he was entirely sire that they would not harm him he was not going to relax. "I guess I can forgive the two for entering my territory then. Since they are human raised they would not know certain things."
He looked at the two and then at the human. "If those two stop acting like that I will stop having a hostile posture." He really was just tired and wanted to focus on healing the grass.

Tsuchi and Sora looked at the strange creature with dumbfounded expressions, just like me, as he started to laugh. I pushed my way between the protection of my wyvern siblings and stood in front of them again and folded my arms stubbornly. ”I wish you two would stop treating me like a child already.“ I scorned them in my mind, knowing damn well that they could hear me perfectly. But I quickly turned my attention to the creature in front of us again. How arrogant he was, belittling me and my brother and sister. I instantly drew my sword as I stepped towards him.
”Drake!“ Tsuchi instantly hissed at me. I could hear Sora behind me, preparing himself again for battle, or to throw himself in front of me and the creature that I was now approaching with hostile intentions. But I refused to apologize. Who was he to look down on how I have raised my wyvern siblings? Considering I am not one myself, I believe I have done rather quite well. I could feel the anger boil up inside me, and could feel Tsuchi using her vast amounts of magic to try and soothe me. But something that I didn't expect happened just as the creature entered my swords range. Sora spoke out with his mind.
”Please forgive the boy for his actions. Like us, he has no parents, and was abandoned by his race long ago. It has been hard for him, especially during our infancy, and we are grateful for all that he has done for us. Despite the fact that he is of different race to us. We see this boy as our brother, and will forever treat him as such, we love him dearly, and are forever in his debny for saving our lives.“ Sora's thoughts boomed out through the air, surely reaching the creature before us, and also caused me to stop and look over my head over at the large Rathalos who was now bowing his head, a sign of respect that both dragons and wyverns did. DRAGON! THAT'S WHAT HE IS! Sora's head raised slowly in surprise as he looked at me.
”Are you sure, Drake? You could be wrong. I just rolled my eyes and ignoring Tsuchi's warning as I replaced my sword back into it's scabbard as I face the creature again. ”I remember you scent now. And it's been years since I last smelt it, and my Rathian and Rathalos siblings have never met one before. You're a dragon, right? My father showed me one nesting when I was just a kid..“

Balenth smiled when he saw Drake draw his sword. Balenth had no such weapon on him but he did have something he defend himself with. He chanced the skin under his sleeves into scales. He knew of very few weapons that could break through the skin of a dragon. He doubted that Drake had such a weapon but if Balenth would figure something out if it turned out that the boy had a weapon that could go through his scales. He stood there ready to react to the boys first swing when it came. However Balenth did not move to defend since the attack never came.
He looked at Sora with a bit of surprise when he spoke. He as not angry at the boy. He did not even see him a s a threat. He was just a human among three powerful creatures. However he was not going to say anything about that. He watched Sora bow and nodded. He liked being respected even if the person respecting him did not know that he was a dragon. What happened next he did not expect at all, though he had been hoping for it.
The boy had figured out what he was. He smiled again and then lifted one of his sleeves to reveal the scales on his arm. "You are correct. I am a dragon. I had hoped you siblings would have figured it out first. " He looked at the three of them. The scales on his arms returned back to normal skin. He really did no like partial transformations, though it was better than taking on a full dragon form. "If you had attacked you would have found out wither way. Still to attack unarmed dragon in human form is low. What if I was just a really arrogant human."

Unarmed? Surely this dragon must have been joking. A dragon is never unarmed, it is covered in thick scales, impenetrable to most swords, rows of sharp teeth, claws that can cut through even the thickest of armours. Not to mention it's fire, capable of reducing a village to ash in mere seconds. No, a dragon could never be unarmed with all of these dangerous weapons combined with the large beasts unmeasurable strength. My eyes slowly narrowed as I watched the dragon, in human form closely. It was always unwise to let your guard down around such a terrifying creature, even if you had no real intention of harming them. I could feel the adrenaline slowly causing through my body as I placed my body into the space next to my two wyvern siblings for comfort. Though this dragon was in human form, he still scared me to no end. I would have no chance of surviving in a fight against it if it weren't for my almost as large siblings. ”Do not worry, Little One. We won't let any harm come to you“ Tuschi's voice chimed into my head as she looked down at me and gave me one of her bone-chilling wyvern smiles. I couldn't help but smile back up at her and feel just a little bit of comfort knowing that these two would help protect me if things came to blows with the ancient being before us.
”Neither of us have any intention of harming you, Sir Dragon. But we will do so if you at any time, pose a threat to our little human brother.“ It was Sora who, again, spoke first. His wise, yet powerful voice booming out over the horizon as he addressed the dragon before us in a manner that was both friendly and also assertive and threatening. I could truly count on Sora when it came to laying down rules and being the overall authority figure of our little family, even if in body I was older than the wyvern. But they have this weird mental thing, that when a mother gets pregnant, all of the memories of both father and mother, up until the point where the wyvern egg is actually laid, get passed down into their infants, as a way of passing on the secrets of their race. Secrets that I now too, even shared, being an unofficial member of the wyvern family, and having a strange mental link with my siblings.

Balenth could not help but let out a laugh when Sora spoke to him. Though he did not laugh for long. He quickly composed himself and looked at the wyvern. He smiled at him, but it was not his normal smile. No this smile held all the hatred and madness that resided in him. And in an instant that smile was gone as well. There was no way that he was going to challenge them alone. Even with a partner he had no real desire to fight them. They were in a sense his kin, and he had no desire to fight anything that resembled dragons. He was not that stupid, his hatred of humans did not override his intelligence. Only one thing did that, and she was no longer around.
"I have no intention of attacking humans no matter how much I hate them. I need to survive somehow and if people knew what I was then it would be hard. Attacking your human would be inconvenient for me. I do not need another dragon hunt or being sealed in that cave again." He said as he finally looked away. "Plus it was the humans that attacked me. I merely defended myself. And yet I get called the monster. " He crossed his hands. He definitely did not want to do into that cave again. He liked being free and was not going to risk getting caught, well not yet. He still needed to gather up a few items before he was going to do anything reckless.
