Edrine was laying on a blanket on the shore. His friend, Sabrina, had convinced him to go for the day, and promptly wondered off half an hour through, leaving Edrine by himself. He hated the beach, but, Sabrina was his best friend and he didn't want to disappoint her but, now she had really pissed him off. First it was chatting mercilessly with everyone near her, next it was running off with some pervert in the middle of a trip, but just leaving him like two magnets of the same pole? At a beach of all places? Sabrina really knew how to treat a friend. He started talking to no one in particular, "I can't believe her! Leaving me at the beach of all places! She knows I hate the beach! Going to the bathroom? For five and a half hours? I hope she got abducted by some pervert or something, the way she's been treating me, I should smack her when, no, if she gets back!"

Gawd I hate water, whats with those guys over there, why are they looking at me and crow like that? I this is one of the reasons that I don't like to spend to much time outnumbered by strangers. As they kept staring I used this chance for a little bit of entertainment of sorts, I took my piece out of a side pocket, and set it on a rock nearby, one of then smiled and pulled out a sword, which was an interesting combination of dagger and longsword. I pressed myself off the ground and reached for my pride and joy, the combat shotgun yet I didn't take my eye off of them. It was an old thing, but I didn't mind, I took excellent care of it, as it was also one of the only guns ever made aside from my smaller gun. Anyways my shotgun had a single barrel, only a half meter long, and had -for combat- a circular ammo feed. I looked at the sward and then thought to ask what he was going to do, so I did. "What does it look like, but since you're not going to be around much longer, I guess I'll tell you" I continued to listen to the man as I set my gun on the sand, once he was done, I pointed the nozzle at him but decided not to shoot. He was shaking, so i set it back down, I asked him if he wanted my services, and for some reason, he just ran of into the baron landscape. I laughed lifting my hand up to throw a bolder in his direction, as he would not mess with my kind again.

Edrine heard some arguing, the worst part of the beach. Probably just some jugheads arguing over a blonde bimbo, in fact, it was definite, he had read it in those scary mangas Sabrina made him read. Edrine figured he should probably and stop it, grabbing his scythe as he got up. When he got to the scuffle he saw that something serious was really going on. One man was holding a shoddy looking sword, and the holding a serious looking shotgun. Judging by the barrel, it was probably a 12 gauge, the odd cartridge, a drum magazine, which looked like it should have been on an SMG rather than a shotgun, probably held 12 shots. If the sword-wielder got close enough to hit shotgunner, he could turn his head to goop, or leave him gutless. "Come on now, there's no need to fight, loss of life is not required here, now what are you fighting for?" Looking rather hypocritical with a scythe in my hands.

"we are just having a little 'fun'" as I gripped the shotgun looking at both now. Staring at the scythe, I knew that this person might be an interesting type, so I watched my mouth with him. As for the Ass clown with a sword, I didn't mind getting him pissed at me. Crow was pretty scared at the fact that everyone had a weapon in their hands, so i holstered my shoddy and gave her a pat on the back, then turned and asked the dude with scythe in hand . "need anything?"

"No, not from you, but from him" Edrine said, pointing at the sword wielder "I need to teach him a lesson." Edrine quickly went to toes with him, disarming him, pushing him to the ground, and slicing his sword clean in half, all in one deft movement. The now empty-handed sword wielder cowered on the ground while Edrine placed his scythe in its sheath and towards the shotty wielder "So, your shotgun is quite an interesting piece. Looks a lot like a modified SMG, who made it, and don't try to feed me a buckshot sandwich because I can do to it what I did to that guy's sword just as easily."

I looked down at my shotgun while I put it in my holster, nobody had asked about it for a while, most would know what to do if they saw it, run. I remembered the day perfectly, the day I received it from my dad, he sat down one day, it was pretty dark, so he lit the torch on his wagon, which was destroyed the raid he died in. He looked at me, and said "I have something for you!" as he held out a bag with a string around it, I looked in bewilderment at this marvelous bag, yet I had not opened it, and was free to open it, I couldn't help but be curious about what it was. He told me looked annoyed at me as I hadn't opened it yet, so I grabbed for it. "Nope I want to see you use your head to get it." I knew what he meant and focused hard on the object. About a minute of straining the limits of my mind passed before, I managed to lift it and get it to my hands. "Good job, son!" dad said in excitement as I opened it to reveal a shotgun, my shotgun, that was half my size at the time. It had a wooden handle and a trigger almost directly in front of it. I started wincing and explained to the stranger with a scythe asking about the gun. I used a little of exaggeration to keep it exiting for him as he was a possible customer, maybe if he thought that I could handle a myself well, he might become a patron. the story I fed him became about ten times more exciting than the one I recalled. He just continued staring at me, then I asked who he was.

Edrine contemplated the story for a moment, wielding his face of thought, a blank stare, it seemed a little too good to be true, but he had probably just been exaggerating rather than out-right lying, but there was no sense in letting his guard down, after all, anyone could be an assassin. "So, uhh..." Edrine said with a curious look on his face " What's your name?"

I looked him in surprise, for I did not know, was I his worst enemy? Or vice-verse? Was I the best shot, or was I the best caravanner? I was, puzzled as I stared at the golden scythe, it was a little bit frightening to see what he did to that dude's sword. So for the time being, I wanted to be a friend, he could help in the future. "my name's Tari and this is crow." I waved hap- haphazardly at the cow behind me, she was dirty- red and had lost some hair from the bag on her back, full of my supplies. "Want any food? A drink, perhaps?" I looked into a pocket and pulled out some cheese, it was older, but not disgustingly old. it had been cut for bread before, but was still large enough for a snack, about three by three by one and a half inches, I cut it down the side that was thin and bit in to one of the halves that I made. "The time's now to grab it!" I garbled with my mouth full, bits of cheese were flying out of my mouth. then It occurred to me that I hadn't asked him for his name, I felt ashamed that I took the situation so rudely. I then quickly swallowed the remaining bit of cheese left in my mouth and looked at him embarrassed, then looked at the scythe. "Sooo... Who are you?" I looked at the scythe again and asked him another question promptly after "and whats that?" Pointing at the scythe and holding out the other half of cheese.

"I'm Edrine" He said "and please get that cheese out of my face, or your going to make me sick." Throwing the cheese to the ground Edrine looked at this person's cow it looked worn down and sad, like it was yerning just to be in a nice green pasture chewing on some grass. " So you're a caravaner? Must be lonely work." Edrine said then realized a more important thing "Hey you got any cigs? I could really use one." Pulling out his fancy monogramed lighter. Solid gold casing with the initials E. L. with obsidian filling in that area. It had cost a small fortune but had always served him well. He especially loved it when someone asked what the initial L. meant, to which he responded with a smile and a chuckle.
