Light lavender eyes looked around in slightly anxiousness as Autumn walked through the dense forest, the light not breaching the thick canopy that lay high above the forest floor. Of course, some rays littered the area here and there, but not as much as one would suspect from the midday sun that shone high above, unseen. With her tiny little ball of burning light shinning the way as she traversed through the dark woods, she continued to make her way, flinching and jumping every so often at the caw of a bird or the russel of the leaves as something small darted through the bushes that surrounded the young woman.
With a heavy sigh, Autumn continued to make her way through the ever creepy forest, hoping she would come to the lovely center of the forest soon. That was why she was here, after all. To see the center of the forest that she had heard so much about ever since she was a little girl; to taste the sweet berries that grew abundently and to just see what it was like. The elf woman jumped as another bird sounded its trumpet-like music, looking around fervently for the cause. Oh, how she hoped that she would make it to the center of the forest soon.
And, thankfully, luck was on her side. For, just at that moment, Autumn reached the middle of the forest. It was clearly the center of the forest, as there was a ring of the forest where no trees grew next to each other. Instead, it was full of tuffs of grass, large berry bushes sprouting up all around. The canopy above was not as thick in this particular area as well, letting the sun shine the tiny clearing. Smiling with joy, Autumn put out her little light and moved into the clearing, running over towards the many berry bushes.
Laughing giddily, Autumn began to gather the delicious berries, plucking them one by one and placing them in a special container in her pouch. Of course, she did eat a handful of berries there as well, but she wanted to make sure she had some for later. Smiling once more, even happier now after having delighted in the sweetness of the berries, Autumn sat down, using her little powers of the wind to create a slight breeze. As the little bits of wind played with her long chocolate lockes, Autumn gazed up at the sky, mind glazed over in a happy stupor as the clouds drifted lazily by, contrasting ever so beautifully with the baby blue of the sky. This, plus the warmth of the sun as it hit her skin, was enough to cause her to drift off, not a care for in the world or a worry in her mind as she fell asleep on the soft bed of grass.

Valentine knew he shouldn't have followed the blasted guy into this stupid forest. The amount he would get for his head wasn't worth such trouble. The glaring man grumbled as he pushed his way past the finger-like tree branches that groped at everything. His cheeks would become scratched and he'd blurt out a low curse into the air but the cut would quickly heal. This guy so wasn't worth his trouble.
Breaking anything in his path, Valentine continued deeper into the forest. He had long lost the damned guy he was after but he didn't care. Too bored to turn back, he pushed forward, still grumbling along the way. His crimson eyes were narrowed into threatening slits, daring any creature to make an appearance so he could mutilate the poor thing to release a bit of his annoyance. But nothing showed. Lucky animals.
Valentine only stopped when he noticed light was filtering through the thick canopy. Was he already near the end of the forest? Cautiously, Valentine peeked past the brush to notice that he was no where near the end of the forest. He was in the clearing of it. And there, he noticed a young girl. This made one of his eyebrows arch up in question. What was she doing all the way out here?
A low, devilish chuckle escaped the assassin. If she didn't know he was there before, she did now. Slowly, he stepped from the brush and started to make his way toward the girl, running his hand through his mussed up hair. His eyes were alight and full of live, giving off a playful sparkle. "Now what is a pretty, little thing such as yourself doing all the way out in these woods?" his tone was light, flirtatious - just like him. A teasing smirk painted his lips. "Hm?

Pale lavender eyes blinked open, ever so slowly as to not allow to much light in to hurt her eyes after a nap, as she began to wake up from her doze. It really was a nice rest, stomach full of sweet berries and skin warmed by the sun. It was pure bliss, sitting up, she began to stretch her long limbs, popping her knuckles and her neck. It was a habit of her, one that disgusted some others she knew. But, it felt good to releave the tension and so she did it. Looking around, she noticed that she had dozed off for about an hour, by the way the sun was positioned. And a lothad happened in the hour timespan.
A whole hoard of small woodland creatures, from bunnies to raccoons, had begun to build up around her and watch her. Smiling sweetly, she reached out a hand to pet one of the little bunnies, only to have it hop away from her, followed by all of its little friends. With a soft frown, she lay back down on the grass with a light thump. Though she was slightly disappointed, it was to be expected. After all, they were a bunch of untamed woodland creatures who weren't used to people or anything that was an animal. With a soft sigh, she began to watch the sky once more.
However, her little past time of cloud gazing was soon over as a dark-sounding chuckle came from the edge of the clearing, the strange chuckle coming from a man that began to walk out from the tree line. He looked slightly older than her with white locks of hair and glowing red eyes. But, though he looked like a total creeper (and acted like one when he began to speak), Autumn decided not to judge him by his looks. You know what they say, never judge a book by its cover. So, she greeted him like she would everyone else. Hello, she replied cheerfully and bubbly-like, a wide smile upon her face. And I wasn't doing much. I just came her to get the berries that everyone always talks about. They actually really are quite delicious. Do you want to try some, the happy-go-lucky Autumn asked, offering him a handful of berries.

His crimson eyes met her lavender ones and then took in her appearance. She was a cute little number, wasn't she? The smirk on Valentine's lips widened and he stepped closer to the girl as he pushed his thumbs into the pockets of his pants. His head tilted to the side, his white hair falling in front of his crimson eyes slightly.
Another chuckle escaped his chest as she offered him some berries. He lazily closed the space between them and leaned down beside the girl. "Berries, hm? Only if you feed them to me," he winked at her before standing up straight, the teasing smirk still plastered on his face. He loved to flirt and mess with girls like her. The bubbly-innocent looking ones.
"I kid. I would like to try one of these delicious berries."
It would probably be the better idea to judge this book by its cover. The only way to see the true Valentine was to win his heart over which was highly unlikely to anyone. The most someone could get was maybe a true smile or something along those lines. Valentine was a creep. A manipulative creep at that. However, he did have a good side or two. Someone would just have to work hard for it.
Valentine out stretched one hand to the girl, asking for the berries she spoke of. He looked down at her, his crimson eyes dark now, lacking the life it had in the beginning, giving an even deadlier tint. However, the teasing smirk was still there, showing he meant her no harm. Yet.

Autumn watched the man as he made his way towards her, leaving his position on the forest line and entering the clearing. Now that she got a good look at him, the sun light giving her a better look at him than the dark shadows of the trees, she couldn't say that her opinion really changed. In fact, it probably worsened a little bit. Because, now that she saw him, she noticed that he looked very much like a demon. But, what can you say? Some people are just born that way and they can't help the way they look. So, she once again didn't let it effect her, sticking to the 'don't judge a book by its cover' saying once more.
However, as he got closer towards her and began to speak with her, she couldn't help but chuckle lightly, a small smile upon her face. After all, what he had said was kinda funny. It really didn't register in her mind that he had said it in a flirtacious way. She just thought it was a joke. But, he did follow up with saying that he was just kidding, instead just asking for some of the berries that she had collected earlier. However, as he reached his hand out to accept some of the precious, naturally sweet food, something about him seemed different. Autumn then noticed that it was his eyes; they had become a darker, more frightening red. But, she decided to ignore it, blaiming it on the sun.
Ok, here you go, she said enthusiastically, holding out her cupped hands and carefully dropping a bunch into his outstretched hand. By the way, I didn't realize it before, but I was being quite rude. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Autumn Bright! But, everyone calles me Leafy, the elf said, a wide grin on her face as she said her nickname. After all, it was a silly nickname that would probably need some explaination. I mean, they called her that because her name was Autumn and it was at that time the leaves changed colors and fell off the tree. But, hopefully she wouldn't have to explain that story to him and he could just figure it out.
