Black eyes. That was the only thing she could remember. Haunting black eyes. The moment she saw them adorned with two demented smirks, she ran. Ran for her life. She couldn't hear a single thing. But every time she would turn her head, she could see their eyes. Four eyes. Two black and two white. Glowing, evil, demented. Their devilish intentions screamed in their eyes. She couldn't get them out of her head.
So she ran. Fast. As fast as she could go. Quickly, she ducked under branches and sprinted into Carian Forest. She had only been their once before but she knew that her small frame would be able to slide through the tightly packed trees. She thought they wouldn't be able to follow her in. At least not the big one. And the short one didn't look so fast. Surly Ayame's longer legs would be able to carry her farther away faster than the little demon could go.
The sun had set hours ago and the light from the moon completely disappeared as it tried to reach down to the desperate, scared girl. But nothing reached the forest floor. She was blinded, her arms out stretched in front of her as she ran. Small branches tore at her skin, her clothes. They scratched against her face and their fingers stung against her but she didn't care. It didn't matter. Running. That's what mattered.
Adrenaline was the only thing pushing her forward. That and their demonic cackles. They had been able to follow her but every time she looked back, her shoulder would slam into a tree trunk and nearly send her to the ground. She couldn't afford to be slowed. Not now. So she stopped turning around to see if they had followed. She knew they had anyway.
Her breathing was shallow and she was starting to get dizzy. She could hear her heart pounding in her head. Why couldn't she switch back into her passer form? No matter how hard she tried to switch into her passer form, she couldn't.
A snap of a branch made her shriek and jump. She quickly turned around a tree and started to run in a totally new direction. She didn't know where she was going and she didn't care. She just needed to go somewhere.
Fear coursed through her veins and tears threatened to blur her limited vision. What had she done to bring such monsters to chase after her? To try and kill her? She didn't understand.
Another shrill shriek escaped her as she heard another branch snap but it was quickly cut off. Full force, she ran into something that felt like concrete and was immediately thrown to the ground by it. Her world went black...
The next thing that plays across her eyes was a small blue bird fluttering to a tree near her. A tiny bit of sunshine peeked through at her through the leaves... [/blockquote]

A hiss filled the quite air, a hiss of anger and pain. Though, this hiss came from no animal, instead, it came from something, more human, and it wasn't that far away from where Ayame was. ”Stupid demon” A male's voice came after the hiss, the voice was beautiful and deep, and like the hiss, was full of pain.
Zane had tried to push himself up from the tree he was currently sat under. The scent of his blood filled the air as he did, he was badly injured. All across his stomach, were four deep, crimson gashes, seemingly caused by an animal. But the word demon, implied it was nothing of the sort. Zane had chased two demons that were running through the forest, killing anything in their sight, out of it. But ended up in a fight against the two demons, and although he won the fight, both demons managed to escape, and had caused him quite bad injuries. The numerous broken bones and other gashes had healed already. But Zane was becoming weak, and he was using his magic to keep the vampire in him under control.
”Curse my stupid good will” Zane spoke as he fell back down onto his butt, he really was weak now, and the more he tried to stand, the more he bled. He hissed again as the wound try to close, but something kept them open, he though the male demon who had caused the gashes with claw like nails, had embedded poison into them, stopping them from closing. But Zane had to get up, he needed to feed. He needed to quench his thirst before it was too late. Plus, the blood would bring back his strength, and would help seal his wounds before he bled to death.
He closed his dark eyes, not wanting to look at the woman who was trying to help him, who was pleading with him to drink her blood. He was being stubborn, he shouldn't drink it, he couldn't. It was her blood, not his. He couldn't do that to her, no matter what. But oh was it tempting. Ever since he had fed on Rose's blood, he had wanted to taste more. He wanted more vampire blood that made him feel so powerful, and that tasted better than all of the rest he had ever tasted. He had never tasted Evlin's and his mind started to wander, wondering what she tasted like. No, he couldn't. He wouldn't. He yelled and hissed again.

Ayame didn't remember much, the pounding in her head kept her on the ground. She blinked a couple of times, trying to clear her mind. It ached from hitting something last night while she ran. She wondered how long she had been out and by the light that peeked through the tree's leaves, she'd guess for a while.
A beautiful voice filled the silence and slowly she sat up and looked over at the two vampires. A very handsome man and a beautiful woman were a little ways away from the young spirit. Carefully she got up and her head pounded even more. She tried to phase back into her passer form and was successful this time.
She started to fade away as if someone was erasing her. It started with her feet and progressed upwards, swallowing her small body slowly. She was soon invisible but whenever she passed through light, she would sparkle like a rainbow. That was the only thing she liked about being in her passer form. She sparkled like the rainbow. And she didn't feel pain.
She floated over to Zane and Evlin, staying away just a couple of feet. What were they talking about? [/blockquote] Evlin was crouched beside the injured Zane. Her hand rested on his shoulder and each time he would try and get up, she would plea with him to sit still. Her violet eyes were soft and understanding but also full of worry for him. She didn't want him to be hurt like that. She hated to see anyone - especially him - in pain.
"Zane, please? Take some of my blood, you need it," she pleaded softly, her eyes begging. Her voice was soft and beautiful. Even when she wasn't singing.
She wanted to help him, needed to help him. After he was done, she could just feed from the energies of the trees. She could feed from anything that was alive.
Evlin was unlike any other vampire she had come to know. Unlike the usually blood-sucking creatures of the night, Evlin could feed from the emotions and energies someone gave off. If they had a life force, she could feed from it. Trees, people, animals. She could feed from them all.
She wore a long black dress. In fact, it was the same one she wore the first time she met Zane. The dress with the slit up her leg to expose the flawless perfection beneath. The crimson rose adorned on her hip. It was her favorite dress.
"Zane..." she tried again. [/blockquote]

Zane sighed as he looked at Evlin, he gave him. ”Fine.. just.. don't let me take too much..” He closed his eyes. Although inside, he was quite eager to get Evlin's blood, he was also quite upset about it. He really didn't want to hurt Evlin, but she knew as well as he did, that he was in no position to hunt. Zane took Evlin's on hand in his own and squeezed it slightly. His slightly rough yet warm hands them slowly ran down her arm and he held her forearm. He softly kissed her wrist as he closed his eyes, she smelled so divine.
Zane could already smell the divine blood that ran through her veins. He could hear the beating of her heart that pumped the blood through her veins, and then, without any more hesitation. Zane sank his sharp fangs slowly into her wrist and drank her blood. The taste was phenomenal as he felt it against his tongue. He didn't think he'd be able to stop, he wanted more and more. It tasted so much better than Rose's did, but he didn't know why. His weak hand gripped a little tighter around Evlins arm as he fed and his strength came back. The gashes in his stomach began to slowly close, healing themselves as they fought against the poison. And then, he caught her scent. A girl in the forest. Close by.
Zane closed his eyes as he slowly pulled his bloody lips from Evlin's arm, it took a lot less than he thought it would to satisfy him. He kissed her arm where he had bitten and watched the bite marks slowly seal themselves back up and smiled. He then stood up in front of Evlin, his hand once again moving back down her arm and then lingered against her hand where his fingers brushed hers slightly. He smiled as his eyes became brown once more and he looked into Evlins. ”We have company.” The calmness of his voice returned making it sound that much more beautiful, and the skin that was visible through the rag that was once his shirt, seemed more beautiful too.

Evlin wouldn't let Zane take too much. She knew how much blood loss she could handle and she wouldn't let anyone cross that line. Not even him. As he took her hand, she moved to his side and leaned against the side of the tree he was leaning again. She rested her head against the trunk and closed her yes as she felt his sharp fangs sink into her flesh. She did not utter a sound. She just waited as he fed. It was quite an interesting feeling, being fed on. She could feel herself become weaker and tired but there was also a hint of a satisfaction feeling within it. She passed it off as the feeling of helping someone in need.
She stood slowly as he did, smiling softly as she felt his hand brush down her arm and over her hand and then nodded as he stated they had company. She knew they had company - she could feel their presnece as she fed from the life force of the tree she was still leaning on. Her eyes took on a more earthy tone with a tint of green as she did. [/blockquote] Ayame was hidden from their sight unless they were able to catch the small glittering colors that bounced off her now and then. She loved to be a rainbow.
She didn't know what had just happened. All she could figure out was that the man had been attacked and to heal his wounds, he fed from the woman. He must have been a vampire. She had seen quite a few of those in her day.
She wondered if they'd be able to hear her. Most humans could hear her little voice whisper to them but since she was invisible to them, they never spoke back.
She didn't know who those two were but she figured they could do her no harm while she was in her passer form so she decided to try and talk to them. "Hello? Can you hear me? My name is Ayame..." she spoke softly, her voice being carried to them like the wind. Though, it sounded like just a whisper, she was sure their excellent hearing would pick up her voice. [/blockquote]

Zane smiled as he turned his body to where he could smell Ayame's scent. It was faint, but it was still there. He smiled when she spoke and he knew that was in fact where she was. He only knew where she was in the first place because he had heard faint sounds coming from the direction. Zane's fingers were still lingering against Evlins as he smiled to what he guessed was a spirit that was now talking to them both.
”Yes, we can hear you, Ayame, I might be speaking for just myself, but I think I could hear you for a while already. My name is Zane.” He chuckled slightly. His deep voice was now warm and calm, and it's usual welcoming tone. This was the Zane that people often came to like and befriend him. ”We promise not to harm you, and may I ask. Were those vile demons chasing you?” Zane only asked this, because not very many people came this deep into Carian Forest without reason, and he knew that no spirits resided here by the name of Ayame, nor did they sound so young. He could also detect a slight fear in the spirits voice, something that may seem as invisible as her body to normal beings.
When Zane mentioned the demons, he quickly looked around the area, just to make sure that they were actually gone. He had found out that they could hide within shadows when he was fighting with them, and he really didn't want them to pick another fight now. Not while Evlin and Ayame were so close to him. He had made Evlin hide in some tree's when he chased and fought the demons, so that she would not become their target and get hurt.

Evlin didn't move her hand away from Zane's. His back was to her now but she didn't mind mind. She didn't want him to see how how she was at the moment. Weak and tired. She hardly ever was like that unless she was fed on. So she just soaked in the tree's energy but she didn't take in too much. She didn't want the tree to be effected. Unlike human victims, they would just grow tired but she could actually kill a tree if she tried.
She stood up straighter as she heard the voice. A soft, weak smile tainted her beautiful features but she still looked as beautiful as ever - just sad though she wasn't. "My name is Evlin,"
Evlin's eyes fell on Zane as he looked around. She couldn't feel the presence of the demons concealed in shadows or otherwise. Though, she wasn't really sure if she could feel their presence when they were concealed within shadows. She thought she could but it was confusing when they and Zane were fighting. At least one was out at all times. [/blockquote] The young spirit smiled when they said they could hear her. Finally, she would be able to speak to someone and know that she wasn't going to get hurt. Unlike with those two demons that chased her. She floated away from the tree she was beside and started to float around the two vampires. Every now and then she would pass through one randomly, giving them a cob web effect feeling though this was just to let them know she was still there.
"Yeah, those two? They were after me," she said softly as she passed through Zane. She could still see their eyes in the back of her mind and she started to grow a little anxious though she knew no one could even touch her while she was in her passer form.
Her mood quickly changed and a giggle echoed around them. "I'm so happy you two can hear me! I usually have to revert to my solid form to interact with people!" Though they couldn't see, Ayame moved so that she was laying on her back, floating around them now. Every time she would pass through the peeking light trying to move through the leaves, a show of rainbows would be thrown from her. She loved color. [/blockquote]

”Well, I'm pretty sure they're gone now, I gave the male one a good beating, I'm pretty sure they wont be coming back here too soon.” Though, Zane couldn't help but have his doubts about the pair of demons. He had a feeling that they were somewhere close, plotting on ways in which they could over power Zane, something that was easy to do when he was with other people. Zane closed his eyes in an attempt to calm down, he was the strongest of all of the people here. Which meant their protection relied solely on him, though he knew that Ayame could simply vanish and the demons wouldn't be able to hurt her. But he was more worried about the welfare of Evlin.
Zane took a quick glance at Evlin, and when he saw how weak she was, he couldn't help but feel sorry for her, and guilt started to fill him, it was his fault she was like this. He had fed on her after all. Zane's attention then turned back to Ayame, so the demons had been chasing her, but why? Zane had to find out just what it was the demons wanted from his poor spirit girl. Personally, he didn't really see the point in it. ”Do you know why they were chasing you?” He asked Ayame, just to make sure that there wasn't something shifty going on here. It could have all just been an act after all. Zane and Evlin could be the real targets, and Ayame could just be a ploy to get them to drop their guards so the demons can strike.
