Tamises tapped his foot on the floor as he looked out the carriage. It had been silent in the carriage for way to long and he was at his limit. He wanted to talk. He wanted to have a conversation so badly that his temper was starting to appear. He was tempted to leave and sit in front with the driver just so he could talk to someone. He quickly stole a glance at Tyr and then returned to looking out the window. Why did he have to work with such a dangerous person. Even if she was his bodyguard for now, it still was not enough for him. He needed to talk to someone before he took it out on the carriage. He did not want to pay for the repairs of the vehicle.
They scenery was not much a distraction. They had left on a sunny day with no clouds and now it was cloudy. He could catch a glimpse of the sun at times, but then there was mot much to look at. Just a road and the locations that they passed. He preferred the hustle of the city to the life in the country for a reason. It was just to dull for him. Though he had seen on occasion villages that held major secrets it was still a rare occurrence that he had rather not think about. Those jobs took more than just skill to complete it took trust that was well founded. He hoped that this was not such a case. He did not want to spend too much time finding the needed information. He doubted that his parter would wait that long.
He the carriage hit a small bump on th road he finally snapped. He could no longer do it. He could not remain silent. He needed to talk and he did not care if he was going to talk to himself. "I just can not do it anymore. It's too quite. How do people travel like this. It is driving me insane. I need to talk to someone, why did I not bring someone along to talk to." If the carriage had not been moving he would have opened the door and made his way beside the driver. However he was sure that the current road would make it dangerous and he did not want to take the risk. He was not doubting his skill, but the driver's to stay steady on the road as he did it.

The ride through his home country was uneventful. It usually was. There weren't many brigands or land pirates in Sanchu. She guessed that it came with the territory. The whole neutral thing that came with living there. Their problems wouldn't start in his kingdom, but hers. She had a gut feeling that it would be so, and she had come to rely on her gut feelings. The ride wouldn't remain boring throughout. He had been fidgety the last couple of hours, but she didn't know if it was that he was still scared of her, or just plain boredom.
Tyr hadn't felt the least bit uncomfortable with the silence. She actually preferred silence to constant yammering. It came with the the territory. She had actually killed a few people who hadn't known when to shut up. Most people were like that. Always talking about things, and drawing out the most simple stories that could be finished in a sentence or two. She had pretty much been alone and enjoyed the silence that accompanied it for the last five years. This time though, she would have to make an exception, if only for the bastard's sanity.
Tamesis had confirmed her speculations just moments after she had come to the conclusion herself. He had spoken out of annoyance, and once again made a bit of a slip, something that she could take wrong and blow completely out of proportions. She wasn't going to this time, lucky him. She knew he was an information dealer, and more likely than not, addicted to gaining information. Sitting in this carriage was a near sensory deprived experience, and it was wearing him thin she supposed.
Tyr looked at him, brows furrowed. Her eyes then slid down to herself, and then back to him, after he spoke. " What, I'm not good enough to talk to? Am I such bad company that you would have to bring along someone just to talk to, instead of talking to me? Am I so socially inept that you are repulsed by the thought of palavering with me?" Tyr gave him her hardest look that she reserved for breaking the will of hardened criminals, bandits, and pirates. It broke a few seconds later, into a big grin, and a silent laugh.
When she had gotten control of herself once again she continued. " Wait... Don't answer those questions. Because I know that at least the last two of the three answers would be yes if you were honest. " She shook her head as she said that, not knowing if the first question would be answered yes as well, but she thought it just might be. " I'm not opposed to talking right now. Don't need quiet to tell if there's trouble outside, The driver would either stop or speed up if there is. So, we can play a game, O slinger of words. You ask a question, then I ask one. Truthful answers only, I'll answer any question of yours that isn't completely stupid. You start, this is a good chance to flesh out your file on me." She said still grinning. This was the most she had ever said to the bastard with the red hair, though it probably wouldn't be the most after a few rounds of questions.

Tamises was all but ready to put up a feeble defense when Tyr asked him those questions. It was still fresh in his mind about what had happened in the office and he did not want to go through all that again. He had just wanted to let out his frustration, he had not meant to insult Tyr. He was about to apologize for his outburst when she grinned. He did not know whether that meant that he was safe or not. He did not want to be put in any more danger than he was. He did not even know if he should answer those questions. He did not want to make her angry.
Luckily she told him not to answer so he would not. He really did not want to tell her that he was afraid that she would take something the wrong way and do something to him. He was even more relieved when she mentioned that she did not mind having a conversation with him. It meant no more silence and that was all that mattered to him. Even the game did not sound that bad. He would not mind having more data on her in case everything did go well and he survived. They might even work together in the future for all he knew. The only thing that slightly worried him was that he had to answer her questions truthfully. He did not mind talking about himself and what he does for a living. But if he had to talk about specific information he had on people it could breach agreements that he had reached.
He considered the options and decide that he would rather not return to the silence. "Alright, let's play. However, I just have to make it clear that I can not talk about certain things due to confidentiality agreements. However those are limited to high profile customers and their dirty secrets. I get paid large sums to make sure no one finds out the truth about them. If that is fine with you. I am willing to answer any other questions that you bring up." He could tell he who they are, but he did not feel like adding that in. If she wanted to know about that she would have to ask. Now brought up the question what he was going to ask. There was so much missing from the file and he did not know where to start. He bit his lip and thought about it.
"Alright first question. Why are you so interested in finding out who your parents are?" It was the second question that came to mind. The first had been why she became an assassin. He had decided to leave that to later. When he could guess her reaction better. He did not know if it was a sensitive topic or not. Until he was sure he would stay clear of the question. He was going to keep the question as simple as possible for now. He did not know what kind of questions she would ask him in return so he had to be ready.

Was he really worried she's ask information about other people? She really didn't have any interest in anything but her current job, and who her parents are. " That is fine. It's not part of the game. Amendment to the rules. We ask questions about each other, for now. If we both run out of questions, then we'll talk about changing the rules again." She said with a slight grin. It would be more fun this way anyway, and if she was to protect him, she'd need to know more about him, not about the information he had gathered in the past. She watched him bite his lip when he was thinking, a nervous gesture. She'd probably learn more about him by his habits than any questions she could think of.
Nearly no hesitation on his part. He asked his question, and it was a good one. One that pertained to the business at hand, and the whole reason that she needed him. " When I find my parents, my situation will be the exact opposite of yours. My plan right now is to kill them." She said, offering no hesitation, nor any emotion behind the telling of her plans. She was going to kill them. Probably. They had abandoned her, left her behind in a hellhole of a school, to rot and be picked on for nearly ten years. The most important years in a person's life. The years where they learn and grow and develop their personality. It was inexcusable.
It was her turn now. Her initial impulse was to ask him what the whole truth behind his father wanting him dead was, but she would probably find that out anyway. Instead she asked " If... When you finish this job, will you go back home and stop your father?" This was just a set up question really. She would ask the rest next time it was her turn for an answer. If nothing else, when it came to information, she was very patient. She learned that if she was too hasty, the source of the information usually ended up not wanting to talk. A source that didn't want to talk, well it was a useless lump of meat, which wasn't worth the effort pulling information out of. She usually just got rid of them after that. She was going to try to prevent that with him and start slowly.

Tamises was surprised that she wanted to kill her parents. Even he did not want to kill his father after all this. He might have a strange relationship with him, but there was no benefit when it came to killing him. However he was not going to judge Tyr on her decision, after all it was hers to make. If she wants to kill them he had no right to stop her. His job as to provide information, what the client did with it was up to them. It was his way to justify to himself all of the deeds that had occurred because of the information that he had sold to others. This would be just another case in that file. Of course she had to first find her parents before she did anything else.
He had half expected a question about him and his father and their current relation ship. After all she had been hired by that man to kill him. "Depends on what you mean by stop. I have no intention of having him killed. However I am planning to stop this game. Neither of us had been serious until he hired you. Or it could have been he had been serious all along and I was not. I mean all the assassins up to this point had been second rate at best. Either way I am planning to come to a compromise with him about our current situation." He also did not want to deal with his brother coming after him. They did not get along, but they knew to stay out of each others lives and it would be all fine. Killing their father would be destroying that agreement. Yet he did not want to risk his life anymore than he had to.
He did even know if he could kill his father. He had never taken a life before and he did not want to. It was the one that he did not want to cross, which was why he always had someone to protect him. Taking a life crossed a line that to him was a slippery slope that he was afraid that he could not climb up again. Though hurting others was another thing. That he was more willing to do.
"How long have you been an assassin?" He was trying to establish a timeline of her life right now. He need to figure out what was within those missing years. He was also treading carefully to the question that he wanted to really know. Even though they were going to answer truthfully, they had only just started the game and there was a long way to go before they got to Obscur and their destination. And yet he could not help but wonder what her next question was going to be. He knew one day his curiosity was going to kill him instead of help him. He was just glad he was not a cat.

Try was a little disappointed at his answer to the question. She thought it would be fun, and probably profitable to kill Tamisis's father. She could go around and find a couple other lords in the same court that wanted him dead, and collect from them instead of the bastard. He wouldn't even have to feel like he was the reason for his father's death. "That's too bad. It would be the quickest way to stop him. Plus it's not like he didn't hire me to kill you. You could just turn it around a little." She said, the disappointment clear in her tone. She shrugged a little at the end, though and considered his question.
She had to think back nearly five years to the time she had accepted her first job. It had been an old warrior of Akaika. He had killed some merchant's father in the most recent war. It was pretty straightforward. She didn't do all that well though. She hadn't thought of using her gift to kill him, and got in close and personal with a knife in the back. She missed his vital organs. It had given him a chance to pummel her quite severely, and nearly kill her. He had gotten the knife from his back and was about to turn it on her when she finally thought of using her power. She had crushed him with a cobblestone, making him into just so much human jelly.
" It was about a month after I left the shcool. Nearly five years ago. She responded, not adding in any details of where, when or who. He really didn't need to know, unless and until he asked. After that first kill is when she started training herself for that occupation. The thrill and joy after killing the man had satiated her insane rage for a few months, and she didn't even have the slightest urge to kill someone for pleasure during that time. It was like that every time, but recently the stillness in her mind was shorter and shorter. It had been nearly two weeks since she had killed anyone, and her hands had started getting itchy.
Tyr really did hope that the ride wouldn't be entirely uneventful. If it was, she would really have a hard time not killing anyone in Daika. If it was just a plain murder there, they may have more trouble than they needed while he was plying his trade on the people of Daika. " Are you sure you don't want me to kill your father for you when we get back to Yamanash? That was her question. Really the only one she wanted answered from him right now. She thought it would be a nice challenge, and she hadn't had a challenge for quite a while.
As if on cue, right after her question, there was a scream from behind and above her. It was the driver. Directly after the scream the carriage ground to a halt, pressing her hard against the seat. She was lucky she was facing behind them, or she would have probably been thrown down between the seats. Tyr clapped her hands together softly. There was a joyous smile on her face, which lit up with pleasure and anticipation. "Yay! The ride won't be completely uneventful. Game is on hold till we get going again. Can you fight? If you aren't sure you'd survive, then just watch from under the coach. That's the safest place.
Tyr opened the door of the carrage, stepping lightly outside. The land pirates were still pretty far away, but still the driver was in a panicked state. " Get under the carriage!" Drifted the shout that was directed at the driver. He promptly did what she said. The tone of the shout was one of authority, as if she was a captain of the castle guards, and was used to taking command. She actually was used to it. It was all her previous trips back and forth between the kingdoms. She had led when those hardened veterans had faltered. This was something she truly enjoyed, and excelled at. It was as if it was her calling.
There were at least ten armored war machines kicking up a huge cloud of dust along the blasted lands of Daika, headed straight for them. That's what they got for getting the most expensive carriage that there was to offer. The more expensive looking, the more opposition between cities. These huge iron armored juggernauts of death were pulled by teams of ten horses, and could probably hold a dozen pirates each. Bandits with war machines are called pirates in her book. They were here to take the carriage, and kill whoever rode it, if not hold us for ransom. Little did they know, the only two riding this carriage was a bastard who's father wanted him dead, and an orphan, who didn't have much money between them right now.
Tyr's hands dipped to her belt, right in front, grabbing the pair of kitty knuckles that were attached. She slowly put them on her hands, snugging the rings around her gloved fingers. These knuckles had her in mind and were forged with the intention of being put on over gloves, so they fit perfectly. She had a new set forged every six months so that the holes wouldn't get too hard to put on. After they were securely on her hands her left hand slipped over the sling, cutting it away with one of the ears of the kitty knuckles. Bearings flew from the newly opened back and stuck to her hand. From there they flew across her body to stick on the other side, so that both hands were covered in lumpy banshee bearings.
One hundred and thirty pirates. This was going to be loads of fun. Each armored war machine would hold twelve, and of course had a driver atop it in a turret like structure. She couldn't let all of the machines reach them. If they did, even she could be overrun by the pirates. She would have to do something special before all ten of the crafts reached them. They were still more than two miles away, which was good. The longer distance between one of her attraction shots meant more power. She raised her left hand, and cocked her finger, just as a banshee bearing rolled along the top to stick to her fingertip. She sighted along her finger, concentrating on the lead vehicle.
Two mintues passed as she concentrated. If he were watching with his sight, a glow would be building around the tip of her finger, shining the bright orchid of before. Her thumb fell and hand raised at the same time as a booming sound resounded in the silent and blasted landscape. After the boom of displaced air, there was a screaming sound, one that would pierce the head of even the most stalwart soldier, as the bearing streaked red across the landscape. Tyr flew with the shot, her concentration a sharp point of flying steel. The bearing hit the armor of the foremost vehicle and pierced the armor plating, searing through a pirate's neck after entering.
She was with the shot the entire time, and felt the impact. She changed the pull of the shot as it entered so that there was equal pull between the front plate and the back of the vehicle. If they could see inside of the vehicle it would hang in the center of the structure, still glowing. She had opened her hand as the bearing entered. She bent her will around that little ball of glowing steel. The bearing slowly turned from red to black under her direction. Tyr clenched her outstretched fist and there was a loud CRUMP sound as the lead machine pulled in on it's self as if a godly hand crushed it like just so much paper. It continued to pull in on it's self until it was naught but a baseball sized black object that seemed to bend the surrounding light around it, as if it was eating that as well.
Tyr grinned as the second vehicle approached that suspended ball of nothingness. Barreling down on the spot as if the lead vehicle hadn't just disappeared. "Boom." Tyr said with a smile as her hand opened again just as it was about to run into the black ball. There was an even louder CRRAAUUMPP as the larger ball exploded, decimating the second vehicle by sending super condensed shrapnel in a circular pattern through the oncoming pirates. All that was left of that vehicle was two flaming wheels that flew into the sky after coming out of the nearer side of the crater that was left behind.
"Two down, eight to go." She said with a gleeful giggle. She didn't seem to be the kind of person to giggle, but she was having oh so much fun. She was having a blast, but she really didn't think she could do that another four times. Maybe twice more, but not much more than that. She would have to conserve some of her energy for when a machine or two got through. She would probably be able to take out horse teams or drivers, but that would leave the pirates alive still. Now that she had hurt them, they weren't going to leave the two of them alone.

Tamises could not understand why she was so determined to kill his father. Sure he had hired her to kill him, but he could not bring himself to want to kill him. There were plenty of other people that were more than willing to pay for his father's death. They could handle the assassin's fee and job. Though he had to admit that he had at one point considered killing his father, but the negative effects of the choice outweighed the positive ones. He knew that and that was why he did not want his father dead. But who knew the man might cross a line one day that would result in Tamises wanting him dead. However, the man had not crossed that line yet and he was not willing to have him killed yet. He wished that yr would drop the topic so he did not have to think of such unpleasant thoughts.
Five years, he thought to himself. The girl had been killing for the last five years. He had only begun to professionally offer his information six years ago, so he did not have much to say. He had to admit he had gone a long way from just a handful of customers to what he had now. Though he was sure that they had plenty of clients that were assassins he never personally dealt with them until now. He normally had assigned them to other members that were better fit to deal with people like that. Well he could never be sure which one could be sent by his father. He did not want to take to many risks while working. He looked at Tyr wondering what the next question might be. She could ask him anything she wanted.
When he heard the question he wanted to answer right away to make it perfectly clear that he did not want that man dead. However he did not get to say it when the carriage stopped abruptly. He knew right away what it meant. They were getting attacked by someone, most likely bandits. That angered him quite a bit. If there was one thing bandits should know was never getting between an information broker and the information that he was trying to get. He did not like it when other people felt it necessary to bother them. They were doing nothing wrong. He pulled out his daggers ready to fight if needed.
He was still uncomfortable with taking another persons life. Something about it never had sat right with him. However he was perfectly happy with making others suffer. As long as they remained alive he could care less what happened to them. He exited the carriage and saw the amount that was coming toward them and he could only think of how bad the situation was. He knew that he was a good fighter, but he was not that good to take on such a large amount. He was thankful for the first time that he took Tyr along with him. If he had gone alone it was very likely that he would have not been able to avoid getting captured or killed. He decided then that he wold protect the driver and leave the majority of the fighting to Tyr.
He hurried the driver under the carriage and took cover as well. He could barely see what was happening, but it was enough to see Tyr take out two of the attacker's vessels. Watching it made him feel completely useless. All he had was his sight and that was useless when fight such things. He Felt like a child trying to do something out of their abilities. For the first time in his life he hated being just an illegitimate child. He wanted to be able to do more than just watch and rely on Tyr to fight.

One Hundred and Six were left. Tyr grinned, looking at the next vehicle swerve to avoid the crater. the front wheel just barely didn't make it, and it toppled into the crater.Try couldn't help but giggle. They'd come, but they would be late to the party. It would give her enough time to dispatch the ones that were still inbound and rest just a little bit she thought. The rest of the land pirate convoy were able to get around the crater just fine. That left seven vehicles that were approaching fast. Tyr took ten of the bearings into her left hand, stacking them just so on one another. She was going to have to not compress the vehicle this time, but try something else. The ten bearings seemed to glow as they fused together under the pressure of her gaze. They seemed to shape themselves into a cone like slug. She then threw up her hand, palm first, slug in between curled fingers. The slug flew as true as the banshee bearing, leaving a bright red streak through the air as it burned it's way toward the caravan.
The slug passed in between the horses, impacting with the armor of the closest of the seven remaining pirate vessels. There was a dull thrum as it displaced the air within the vehicle on entry. It exited the back, trailing a mist of crimson, having jellied the pirates that were inside with the pressure and heat of it's passing. The second in line was just slightly out of line, and it decapitated five of the ten horses that were pulling it before sticking in the armor. The remaining five horses reared, snapping the lead lines and scattering across the countryside, fleeing back toward where they came, toward their home.
The remaining five vehicles finally got the clue to spread out, their iron shod wheels being able to take the terrain just off the road, but they had to go a bit slower. Tyr was still giggling, and swaying just a bit, but not just of exhaustion. This was part of the reason that on occasion she had to take command. It was just as likely that the people that were on her side ran from the giggles that she emitted when she was in the killing mood. The remaining vehicles were closing now, less than a mile from them now. Using the gun gesture she was able to make the top of one of the driver's heads into pink mist. That war machine instantly jack knifed as his falling body pulled on the reigns. It was set a tumble, rolling over and over until it came to a stop on it's side.A few pirates had crawled out of the wreckage, the rest either with broken necks or skewered on their comrade's blades as they rolled.
The remaining four of the war machines were just in range now. Eight tufts of smoke rose from the rolling juggernauts, as they fired some sort of land cannon. It was pretty much identical as the ones that were on ships, except they were bolted into place, and loaded from below. These pirates weren't messing around anymore. She had either delayed or killed more than half of their force already. They just wanted the three of them dead now, no loot necessary. One of the ones that was going to arc downward directly onto them didn't arc at all, and just continued past them after Tyr flicked her right hand at it. The other arced downward severely with the backstroke of that flicking hand, detonating well before them, and instead of shrapnel raining down on them, only small rocks and dirt did so. The rocks seemed to fall all around tyr, but not actually land on her, but they did a good rat-a-tat on the roof of the carriage.
That was it, their only chance. They were now in direct range of her, close enough to clearly see. She could directly effect the war machines now, instead of throwing things at them. Tyr held out both hands to her sides, concentrating gravely on the two machines on the right. She slowly brought her hands together, and it was as if she were holding toy carriages. The two on the right struck each other hard, the sideways movement snapping all eight wheels as they slammed into one another. Tyr's fingers laced as the vehicles crumpled and fused into one huge lump of metal wood and flesh. Only the two drivers seemed to make it out of there by jumping off. Moving at that speed, one of the drivers broke his neck. The other, both legs.
And then there were two. She just didn't have enough strength to pull more than one more big trick out of her hat, so she just slammed her fist into the palm of her right hand, flattening one of the remaining two pirate vessels. Once again the driver survived, and rolled to his feet as the turret smashed directly downwards around him. There was one left, thirteen pirates. One driver, and two cartloads of pirates that were still pretty far away. If they didn't stop to regroup, she would be able to face the rest one cartload at a time. Tyr's giggles turned into pure laughter by the time she had fused the two carts together and now her swaying was much more pronounced. She looked as if she was drunk. If you asked her, she would say yes, she was drunk.

Tamises watched the scene unfold in front of him and could not help but feel slightly sick. He had never seen someone take the lives of others so easily and laugh while doing it. His hands were shaking and he could not stop it this time. He was terrified of Tyr and what she was doing. Who would not be. She was taking out the pirates like they were nothing. He was beginning to wonder if he was going to be of any help at all. By the time he was able to calm down Tyr had already flattened one of the remaining vessels. It looked like the final combat was going to start soon.
However there was one problem. His body would not move. No matter what he told himself to do his legs would not cooperate. Though his mind might have gotten over what was happening his body was a little slow to join the party. He turned his sight seeing that there were so little vessels left that they might choose to attack in person. At least then he could be some sort of help. Well at least that was what he was hoping. So far Tyr was able to handle everything on her own. He had doubts that he would even have to use his daggers in the fight.
He looked at the driver to see if he was still fine. Seeing that he was in one piece he tried to get up again. This time his legs listened. It looked like his body was under his control again. The fear had passed, but he could still hear Tyr laughing and it made him uncomfortable, He wanted nothing more to tell her to stop killing them, but he knew that would spell out their deaths. He was going to have to watch even more people die. He might even have to kill someone. The mere thought of killing someone made him feel unwell. He knew at that moment that he was not cut out to be a killer or solder. He was going to stick to what he was good at.

There was one last thing she could do. One last thing to keep them from destroying them completely from a distance. Both of Tyr's hands rose, spread wide. These she clenched into fists, and there was a squealing sound that came from the vessel. Tyr could see in the distance, that the pirates who's horses that had fled were running, brandishing their weapons in the air as they slowly made their way toward the carriage. They were lucky. If they had instead waited for the men from the vehicle that had fallen into the crater, Tyr either wouldn't have gotten to kill them, or they would have to leave them to wander the wasted lands until they got back to their base. If many survived this, the bandits would be back in force for their return visit.
There was a double Crump as the last remaining vehicle tried to use their cannons on Tyr and her group. No cannonballs fired from the cannons. Tyr's last effort had bent the cannon's muzzles in on themselves, causing the cannons to backfire on themselves. The driver was gravely wounded, but he was able to bring the machine to a stop close enough for the pirates to be within running distance from Tyr. As the eight bloody men that were left after the backfire piled out from the back of the vehicle, Tyr started forward. Not quite skipping, was Tyr, It was between that and a run. She was a kid after all, and the battlefield was her playground.
She was among them in almost no time. Her knuckles flashing darkly as they moved. She parried a downward swing by the first pirate, adding an attraction between his own blade and his leg. The leg flopped to the ground, as did the pirate after a few seconds. The air was filled with audible screaming as she started to dance between the pirates. She blocked, deflected, and parried every incoming blow, not only with her knuckles, but with her power. She was a dervish, knuckles flashing, elbows and knees flying as well. She had dispatched another four of the pirates in nearly no time, and it was down to three left against her. One started running, seeing the ear splitting grin on Tyr's face. One of the remaining two pirates risked a glance at his retreateing friend. That glance was his last. Tyr danced in at that moment, her hands flashing, punching first his thigh with her left hand, then gut with the right, and a sound uppercut to where his jaw met his throat.
Tyr quickly stepped back lest the pirate she had just killed fell on her. Her lower arms were now completely covered with blood. The last neck shot had finished the paint job on her left. The rest of her was spattered, but not even close to how covered her arms were. She was in defense mode for this last one. He was actually quite good. Nothing she couldn't handle, but Tyr had danced around him, and his back was to Tamisis. Even when in this type of trance, she could understand the value of information. Plus this pirate was about her age, good with a weapon, and kinda cute. She would almost feel bad ending the promising life of this gent. She hoped that the small flicks of her eyes toward Tamisis wouldn't alert the pirate, and help the bastard understand that she wanted him alive. If he could knock him out quickly, they could disable this last vehicle, and make off faster than the remaining pirates could walk. Or Tyr could rest, and pick the ones that were left off from a distance.

Tamises had yet again was left watching the fight. Tyr had started to take on the attackers on by herself leaving him to defend the driver. It was not a hard job seeing that no one was getting past Tyr and her attacks. He could only help to feel useless yet again. Not even his sight was any use. She was taking them all out like they were nothing more than just harmless animals. He could not help but feel sorry for men that were getting killed. They had picked the wrong people to attack and they had paid for it with their lies. That pity disappeared when he remembered that they had ruined the ride which had suddenly become more interesting then he expected. It was their fault to do such a stupid thing.
When the last member remained he had expected her to take him out with little difficulty. However that had not been the case. He saw her signal to him and without a second hesitation he moved forward at the pirate. He made no sounds as he ran making sure that the pirate did not know what happened until the last possible second. He flipped the blade around hit the boy on the back of his neck. He was used to knocking people out that he did not even have to think about it when attacking. It was second nature to him. He caught the boy as he feel leaving the others to Tyr. "I'll tie him up. You take are of the rest."
He put away his dagger and found himself holding a rope. He removed all the weapons he could find before he tied the boys hands behind his back. He was not going to give the boy a chance to attack. He finished tying the last knot and got up. He dragged the body back with him to the carriage and placed him inside it. He left him laying there floor of the carriage and he looked at the driver. He wanted to get out of here as soon as Tyr was done. "Get ready to leave. As soon as Tyr enters the carriage we are leaving. Understand." He entered the carriage trusting that Tyr would do what was necessary to take out the last remaining group. He did not want to see anymore death today.

Tyr was quite glad that he was able to incapacitate the last pirate. If it had been up to her, she would have killed him. This way at least the bastard could ply his trade, and get some information out of him when he woke. As Tamises tied up their prisoner, she went ahead and double tapped each of the downed pirates that were in the area, just in case one of the blows wasn't mortal, or quick enough. Her laughing subsided finally to giggles again, and by the time she was done, she had suppressed even those giggles. She wasn't completely heartless when it came to brigands or pirated. If they attacked, yes she was going to kill them, but in the down time, she would make sure that they were completely dead, and not half dead, watering the desolate ground with their life's blood for hours after they left.
" Do you want to question him here and leave him for his friends? Or take him with us and question him on the way?" She queried of Tamises. If they were to question him here, she could have some target practice as the pirate stragglers came their way. If it was on the way, they would leave nearly twenty six live pirates behind, to tell their boss who killed them. Actually it wouldn't be that bad, the ones in the distance wouldn't ever get a chance to see their faces up close either way. The kid though, he'd seen the both of them. He would probably have to die eventually. Either that or they would have a prisoner to babysit while they were in the city.
Tyr didn't sign up to be a babysitter. Maybe the bastard would figure out something else viable to do with the prisoner instead of killing him, or letting him go. She pushed those thoughts out of her head, because she had other things to think of. She was still swaying while she walked back to the carriage. Her eyes fluttering closes and open again from time to time. She was dead exhausted. The adrenaline dump that made her feel so good had started to fade, and so did the drunken buzz that came with it. Now she was just tired. She reached the carriage and leaned against it, her back to the panels. She raised her hand toward the closer set of pirates that had started toward them. They still had between ten and fifteen minutes before any of them got to the carriage.
Tyr's hand was in that gun gesture again, with her thumb cocked, pointer finger toward the leading pirate. Her thumb fell, sending a shimmering bearing across the distance to him. All that was left of that pirate's torso was a cloud of pink mist. That made all the pirates in that group drop to their bellies on the shimmering ground. The sun had been baking the rocks of this place quite well for most of the day, and it would probably start to burn their flesh after a few minutes. She pictured them conversing while their flesh started to cook on the hot ground, and smiled. It wasn't enough to get her giggling again, but it was still a fun thought. "Either way, we can get some information about their band. I find it interesting that they had so many to send against us. Do you think your father got wind of us leaving and sent them word or something?" She said, as she slid along the panels of the carriage, just enough so her head popped into the open door.
This was it, she was going to use her reserve of power. She was just going to have to trust that Tamises wouldn't kill her while she slept. Tyr took a big sighing breath as the rest of the bearings flew from her right hand to her left, and those on her left rolled around and into her palm. Nearly all of the ammo inside the bag at her side rolled up her body, and then along her arm to accompany the bearings that were already in her palm. She used her right hand to hold tight to the frame of the carriage, so she wouldn't be prone to fall when she started this last attack. Her hand had found the beam that was in between the window and the door frame, and had good enough purchase for what she needed, or at least she hoped it did.
Tyr raised her left hand skyward, palm upward, fingers curled to point to the heavens. There was a cacophony of screaming shots as the fifty or so metal beads departed in a generally upward direction. She held her hand up for three minutes, breathing heavily in her unseen work. Her hand wavered slightly for a moment then thought of the fun that this attack always brought about, and her hand was able to steady once again. This attack wasn't really accurate, but it was good to effect a large area. Tyr's right hand slipped on the wood, due to the fact it was completely drenched in blood, and she fell on her rear into the doorway, hand still raised. She gave a sigh as she dropped her hand, leaning her head against the beam of the doorframe, so she could watch the fun.
Nearly five minutes later, plethora of red shooting stars appeared in the sky, her bearings returning home once again. There was an ear-splitting sizzling screech as they started to get close. The impacts rocked the earth, sounding an echoing CRUMP each time one exploded on impact. The impacts started about three quarters of a mile away from them, just closer than the first pirate was laying flat on the ground. Bodies flew into the air after the first impacted, and those few that flew straight upward seemed to be speared by the streaking meteors that she had thrown upward, then called down upon their enemies. There was twenty five craters in the earth when the first volley ceased. The second volley was yet to come, but the crumping sound of the impacts, and the shaking of the ground was quite subdued compared to the first volley.
"Never you mind my first question. We should be quite done here." Tyr mumbled as she crawled from her seated position, over the unconscious pirate, and into the seat of the carriage. She didn't rise to sit on the seat, she just turned toward the back of the seat and lay there, completely spent, but with a nice smile on her face. Her bloodlust should be quite sated while in town, unless someone decided to start trouble for either of them of course. She snuggled further into the seat, and said into it, once again a sleepy mumble. " Learn what you can from him, and keep a very close eye on him while I sleep. I really do want to wake up. Make sure that happens, please."

The carriage started to move as soon as Tamises closed the door. He did not want to stay there any longer. He looked at Tyr and sighed. He could kill her so easily, but he would not. He did not want the life of the person that saved him right now to be the first life that he took. It just did not seem right to him. She had tired herself out to take care of all the attackers, something he had believed she could not do. The least he could do was let her sleep and recover her energy. He doubted that it would be last time he would be saving her before they finished this job. He took off his jacket and placed it on top of Tyr. It was not much but it was the best he could offer as thanks right now.
He then turned his attention to the sleeping prisoner on the floor. Unlike Tyr, he had no reason to be nice to him and was not planning to. His group had attacked them not the other way around. And the amount of attackers had been ridiculous to say the least. He pulled out his dagger and placed it on the seat. He was going to have to wake the sleeping prisoner up. He went into his backpack and pulled out a container of smelling salts. He had brought them just in case the person that he was 'conversing' with had decided to fall asleep. He opened it and placed it by his nose. He held it there long enough for the kid to take a whiff and then closed it. He did not want the whole place to smell like the salts. He put the salt away before returning the prisoner.
The kid started to stir and Tamises smiled. He kept the dagger out of the boy's reach. Not that it mattered his hands where still behind his back. The boy was about to say something when Tamises placed his hand on his mouth. "Before you say anything lets get something straight. You are our prisoner and if you value your life the next thing I should hear from your mouth is that You understand the situation you are in. Oh and if you wake her up there are no promised that you will stay alive." He then removed his hand from the boys mouth. He muttered something, but Tamises pretended not to hear it. Seeing that Tamises wanted it louder the boy repeated himself. "I understand." Tamises was glad that he understood that he as in a bad situation and he hoped that he did not have to remind again.
"Now thins can go one of two ways. The first is we can play nice and you answer all my questions truthfully. Or, we can have some fun. You see I was getting to know my partner here when you attacked and well it got me angry. You see you did something that no one should do. Get between an information broker and his desired information. So I would much prefer if we had some fun, but I doubt you will like it."He had changed the tone of his voice halfway through the conversation to show how serious he was about what the pirates had done. He also wanted to scare the kid slightly. Of course he was talking about torturing the kid, but he did not want to say it outright. After all he wanted to leave somethings to the kids imagination.
He then smiled at the kid. "However let us try to be civil after all be are both men here. And who knows there might be something in it for you at the end." He helped the kid sit up. "Now tell me. Why attack us. Sure we are in a nice carriage, but 10 attack vessels were a little to much if I must say so myself. Unless you were after one of us." He wondered what exactly they wanted from the attack. The kid remained silent saying nothing. However, when he saw Tamises go for his dagger he started to speak. Few would stay silent and those were people who were trained to take pain like Tamises was. Though Tamises was aware of how much torture he could take before he would confess to anything. Seeing the kids reaction he was sure that is was very little.
"We were hired by two people. One named Brimhaven, he told us to capture his kid and bring him back. Though he also said that it was fine to kill him if he gave too much of a struggle. The pay was huge so the boss took it. As for the other customer he said he wanted the kid with the sight alive and brought to Diaka without his escort." The kid stopped there not saying anything more. Tamises leaned back on his seat and wished the kid had told him everything. He could tell the kid was holding back and that was something he did not like. Tamises untied his hands only to tie them up so that his hands were his hands were in front of him now. Without a second thought he stuffed the kids mouth with his shirt and grabbed his arms and stabbed the kids left hand. He left eh hanger in keeping the hand pinned the floor. He knew the kid would learn his lesson about telling only half of the truth.
The kid let out a muffled scream as he was stabbed with the blade. It was painful and ever time he tried to get his hand free. His other hand that was tied to it was unable to remove the blade either. He looked up at Tamises for forgiveness, but his face was stern. "Alright. He told us that the kid was valuable only alive. We assumed that our other clients son was the same person so we were going to tell Brimhaven that we killed his son and give the kid over to the other client. I have not met him so I do not know what he looks like. Now please take it out." Tamises still stood there unmoving. Something was still wrong about this. He stepped on the blade digging it deeper in. He did not hear everything yet. There was more he could tell.
"Please stop. I'm begging you. No one told us that there would be such a skilled body guard with him." The kid wanted nothing more than to scream, but he could remember the warning about waking Tyr and he kept his voice down. "That is all I know. I swear." The blood was starting to spread on the floor but Tamises still did not move. "He said that the kid would only sell in one piece so we were not allowed to hurt him. He even told us that he could see our weakness. That is why we brought so many. To overwhelm him and his sight." Tamises finally bent down and removed the blade. He tended to wound and wrapped it up. Some of the information they got was wrong. He could not see weakness he could only see the truth which at times meant weaknesses. He tied the kid up even tighter this time. Making sure that his legs were tied up as well. He gagged him as well just to make sure he would remain quite. He knew why they attacked and now all that was to do was wait for Tyr to wake up and for them to reach their destination.

Tyr slept through the entire investigation. If she had heard, or even learned by osmosis, she'd be quite intrigued. She didn't even stir when Tamises placed his coat on her sleeping form. The information he had gathered was quite interesting, and it would be useful for Tyr to know of it as well, but it was up to him whether or not to let her know. She was currently oblivious to the world and everything within it right now. Tyr's eyes were the only thing to move while she slept right now. They were flicking back and forth as do the eyes of the deeply dreaming. Usually she was one of those types that rolled, kicked and couldn't help but share her elbows with anyone who happened to be sleeping in the same bed with her, but the extensive use of power, without the benefit of seeing the damage it wrought upon the distant bodies had really taken a tole, exhausting her completely.
She dreamed mostly of killing, drinking, playing, and her occasional friends. Her dreams touched on the time she spent in the boarding school of the oncoming city, and of course her training, physical and that of her power. Her applications of her power mostly came to her in the genius that was her sleeping mind. She probably wouldn't have been able to come up with the bearing hail whilst awake. That had actually came to her while she was sleeping under a tin shed one day last winter when it was hailing. It was somewhat like the upgraded version of the shotgun attack that she used from time to time, though much more exhausting because it needed to be used at quite the distance.
Well after Tamises had finished questioning their pirate prisoner, about three hours after she had collapsed on the bench of the carriage, she did the inevitable. She rolled in her sleep, well before she would have wanted to wake up. She crashed to the floor, on top of the bound prisoner. She awoke with a start, feeling someone's body against hers. If Tamises had been using his sight he'd see a bright flash of purple around her hand just prior to it smashing into the side of the man's head. She scrambled back from him, her back to the door, and recognition finally showed on her face. It was blind luck that she hadn't even seen Tamises until she remembered where she was, because it would probably result in him acquiring bumps and bruises as well. After a roll of her eyes, and a big sigh, she picked herself up from the bouncing floor, and onto the seat she had just been occupying in sleep. She only asked one quick question " Are we there yet?"

Tanises had been looking outside of the window since he finished the interrogation. He had not liked the information one bit. The fact that his father sent another group to attack was something he expected to do. In fact he would have been more surprised if it had been a quite ride all the way to the city. That would have meant that he trusted Tyr to finish her job. He just was not that kind of person. What worried him more was the other information that he had obtained. Another person was after them and that person was exactly the location that they were going to. What made it worse was that he knew about his sight. There were very few people that knew about it or even dared to try to find out about it. It made him worry just how much he knew about him.
His attention was brought back to the carriage when he heard Tyr fall off of her seat. He looked at her and was about to say something when she hit the prisoner on the head. Yet another injury added to the list that he had. He waited for Tyr to say something before he did. After all she and been the one that had been sleeping through this leg of the ride. When she asked if they were there yet he looked outside to determine how close they were. He was about to say something when the kid, who was somehow still conscious opened his mouth. He kicked the kid in the gut knocking him out cold again. It was too easy to harm the kid. He then turned back to Tyr. "We are nearly there. It won't be long until we arrive. The thing is I need to ask you something important."
He quickly double checked if the kid was out cold. He did not want the kid to find out what he was about to say, even though he partially knew already. He the sat up and leaned against his chair. "What did my father tell you about me? It is quite important because our visit to Obscur just got more dangerous and I need to make sure you understand why my father is acting like he is before I tell you why such a large force attacked us." He had reached the conclusion that the unknown man wanted his sight for something though he did not know what. What he was sure was that if he wanted him unharmed it was very important and as they enter the city much more experienced kidnappers were going to make their appearance. The worst part was all that he wanted to do was find Tyr's parents and go back to his home.
