swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowThe sixteen year old was still frozen, mind rushing as he tried to figure out where this attack had come from. Kenji had never been close to him, though he hadn't seemed the type that was so power hungry to kill. Actually, the last the prince had seen of the cousin, he had been quiet and withdrawn from the other royals around him. Kenji had strolled through the gardens though, watching with wonder as Levi's powers came into play. If only Reno hadn't brought him here...Then his cousin wouldn't have had the opening to attack. There were no guards, no knights, nothing here to help protect him. He felt was if was in that closed store again, helpless against Shadow as he changed to show who he actually was. No, this was much worse. His body wouldn't move. His mind yelled at him to get moving, to sidestep, jump, or something to get him away. After all, Shadow wouldn't be of any help. The werewolf wanted him dead, right? Levi snapped back to reality as his cousin wasn't much farther, one hand hand reaching back in the sheathe for an arrow while he ducked down to grab the bow. He couldn't just let himself get killed for such stupidity as being scared. No, he was done being frightened and scared tonight. He notched the arrow but never aimed it, knowing he wouldn't be able to shoot his kin. He had never killed anyone, his tan hands free of blood. Part of his family would not be his first. But then something whizzed by the blue blood, making his head ruffled with wind. He blinked his raspberry colored orbs as Shadow ran at Kenji before jumping and turning into a wolf. Shadow was...helping him? It was bizarre and made Levi distracted for a moment. Why would the werewolf ever want to help him, seeing as what had unraveled that night. The bow was up before the Daikan prince could really see what was going on and the prince barely stopped himself from firing the notched arrow. He had almost shot Shadow as he defended the blue blood. Kenji saw the jump coming and had his free arm out to the wolf, knocking him back with magic without really stopping. Levi narrowed his eyes, bow and arrow dropped to the ground once again, though on purpose. A tree bent towards the offending and armed male, trying to knock him from his feet and into the air. Kenji disappeared, reappearing a moment later after the tree had cleared where he had stood. The dark haired male remembered the noble's powers now from when they were little. An air elemental, able to even turn into it. Levi back stepped quickly, bending to pick up the bow and discarded arrow as well. If Kenji was willing to hurt, Levi would have to be too. He notched the arrow quickly, letting it fly as the noble turned towards Shadow. It barely did anything, grazing the front of the man's throat in a near miss. Only a thin line of blood had been drawn, though the calm disposition had been replaced with true anger. "I didn't know you were so ready for Death, little king." Kenji said, a twisted smile appearing on the noble's tanned face. Levi felt a strong wind go his way, knocking him from his feet and the the bow feet away while the arrows spilled onto the grass. Make you say

>Wolf< Shadow flew back in the air, moving just enough so that he landed on his paws, sliding a few feet back. The werewolf snarled. Another magic user. The boy with his invisibility and his cousin with the air. It made him sick. If you want to get something done, do it yourself, don't rely on parlor tricks... No skill involved, no honor.
Then the tree seemed to move on its own accord, the prince unarmed during the brief moment that it dropped toward his cousin. So there were multiple powers these two posessed...even worse. His suspicions were confirmed as the boy's cousin disappeared from view and reappeared after the strike. Why hadn't the boy tried that with Shadow? No matter.
He hadn't noticed the prince aiming the arrow at him, but he did notice as it went across Kenji's throat. So the bastard could bleed. That, at least, was good news. The wolf started forward again, prowling around to Kenji's backside, so that the boy couldn't keep an eye on both him and Levi at the same time. He watched as Kenji knocked Levi from his feet, and as that movement carried its way out and the boy spoke his words, Shadow prepared to jump again.
He grew tired of this game already. Kenji would die first, and then he'd see to the bastard's cousin. He would rid himself of this collar, and he would be free to roam once more. Maybe not in this city, but at least he could have nothing to do with the royal family, like he originally had planned.
He was sick of these games...sick of the guards helping the boy, Shadow having been wrong about Levi's identity at first. He just wanted to be alone. On his own, his own rules, his own land. Scrounging for food was not the life of a werewolf. He had had enough. Tossed aside like he was nothing by a worthless sheltered prince who had no taste for what real life was like.
He would show them. He'd show them all. He wasn't just some dog that people could order around. He was not a pet. He was not a tool to be used and tossed away. He'd show this Kenji boy that he was the one to be feared. He was no mutt.
Shadow's claws scraped against the ground as he clenched them, his teeth following suit, his muscles straining, his mind left with but one emotion.
Rage.
Shadow ran forward, his black pelt seeming to darken even further, warping the area around him, the edges of his claws and teeth taking on longer and sharper points, and both seeming to glow ominously with a tiny golden aura. His eyes, normally a mix of a light hazel and black, shifted. Golden orbs glared at Kenji as Shadow lifted off the ground, slashing down with his right claw as he came down toward the boy.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi laid there, breath knocked from his lungs for the second time in such a short period of time. His back had made his mouth fly open for a mute cry of pain that was cut off by the lack of air. The prince's back was sure to just be a large bruise by the end of the night, tan skin blurring into a dark color of some sort at best. The sixteen year old laid there for countless moments, regaining his stolen breath as he stared upwards at the sky and the tree tops. Suddenly he remembered exactly what was going on and tried to shoot upwards to sit but got caught in the middle of the action, wincing heavily as his whole body protested. These weren't the worst wounds he had ever gotten -- far from it, actually -- but his head felt woozy and his wrist throbbed even more painfully now that he continued to abuse it. Finally, grimacing at his weakness compared to the other males, he sat up. How had he forgotten the threat to not only his life, but someone else's as well? No way would Kenji let Shadow go, regardless if the prince died or not, though. If, by some chance, Levi escaped then why let another witness go? The sixteen year old fought the urge to smack himself, thoughts muddling together for a moment. Perhaps he really had injured his head without knowing. Then again, he didn't exactly know how he landed from his free fall out of the tall tree. Raspberry eyes blinked as he mentally yelled at himself to just concentrate on what was going on. He finally looked over, seeing Kenji walking towards him. Was this really going to -- Apparently not, the blue blood thought, as Shadow broke into a forward run at Kenji. Levi's eyes widened as the werewolf's form changed, pelt turning darker then even his sister's shadows and eyes becoming one of the richest golds he had ever seen. He watched as the older male jumped up, slashing downwards at his cousin who seemed to not have even seen the wolf in his attempt to make it over and kill the prince, taking the position to be next in line for the throne. Levi didn't care or not care for the position, and couldn't really see himself as the next ruler. Actually, he hadn't really thought of it. His sister had only recently withdrawn and he wondered what would have happened if she hadn't. The tanned prince felt the urge to slap himself once more, his thoughts having trailed off once more. When he looked back, Kenji's arm slashed open and scarlet exploded outwards as he tried to deflect the claws at the last moment. His air hadn't been fast enough though, totally missing the wolf and blowing harmlessly by the dark animal. But, as the prince's gaze went down, he saw that the werewolf hadn't only gotten Kenji's arm. His clothes were quickly stained darkly as his chest bled out as well. "Don't worry, little King, we'll have to, erm, play another time when your pup isn't around~" the prince's cousin said, mouth smirking as he looked from the prince himself to the so called "pup". During this all, Levi had made his way over to the bow and a few of the scattered arrows. He quickly notched it, aiming quickly, but before he could shoot at his cousin, he was gone. Make you say

>Wolf< Shadow's eyes wildly searched the scene. Where had he gone? Where was he? The blood was there, a heavy scent...but the boy. Kenji, where was he? He had just torn him apart. Where?!
His golden orbs quickly darted side to side, flashing right over Levi for the moment. He was just here! Shadow's anger continued to flare, his vision extremely narrowed, his mind only comprehending the need to find and hunt the boy down he had just wounded. But as moments passed into seconds and finally into minutes, he resigned himself to the fact that his first target was gone.
His second pre-programmed target loaded. The prince himself. Shadow's eyes locked onto the prince's form, hardly any outward emotion betraying his attention. He wasn't in it for the intimidation, only the hunt and the kill.
He moved forward, in a quick trot and then into a run, golden eyes ominous and unblinkingly fixated on the boy. Thoughts of the trees, the air, any other sensory information that wasn't related to his prey was ignored and tossed aside.
The one advantage that the prince held over Shadow was that the dark furred wolf had forgotten all about the collar in his fury, and recklessly charged the boy. The faster Levi died the better.
Simple things flew through Shadow's mind, Levi was injured, he could hardly move, the chance of his attack hitting almost guaranteed. The boy wouldn't last long.
He tossed out all thoughts of the bow and arrow Levi held up. Useless contraption. It wouldn't harm him. Levi would die all the same. His claws could tear through anything, he would have his revenge.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi let out a sigh of relief as his cousin disappeared, though it also unnerved him. Kenji had never been one to give up and this just didn't seem like him. A dark feeling settled over the blue blood before he turned to look at the scene once again, grass stained with blood where his cousin had stood only moments before. Where had he gone anyway? Like Levi had remembered earlier, Kenji was one of the two black sheep in the family and usually stayed with his own parents, which were almost on the other side of the Kingdom from Obscur. There wasn't any reason for him to even know that the prince was here. The thought was thrown from his mind, though, as Shadow turned towards him. Levi opened his mouth to say something -- anything to try forget that his own blood had just betrayed him -- but he didn't have a chance as the beautiful but deadly gold eyes locked onto him, no expression able to be seen. His mouth was froze for a moment before both of them started to move once again. The werewolf ran at the already injured prince, eyes unblinking. Fixated as if nothing was being thought expect the simple, undeniable and obvious thought. Kill. Levi started to move as well, mouth closing though his raspberry hues were stuck to the werewolf's golden ones for a few moments as he hesitated. The last time he had done what he was thinking about, Shadow hadn't responded very well. In any means, actually. But it wasn't as if he had much choice. It was either use the collar to his advantage or to use his powers, both which probably help in the long run. Still, like hell he was going to die because it was going to anger the werewolf. He had grown quite irritated, whether because he was holding in all the crap that had happened and the emotions that tied or just because he was sick of everything happening to him. Levi was, whether he would admit it or not, feminine in many aspects beside his powers. He was as moody as a female and, as it had already been seen that night, looked much like one. Even when he wasn't forced into drag by his evil eldest sister who then dragged him into town. Levi quickly decided he wasn't going to sit there forever, muddled thoughts distracting him. He muttered the Stop command, aiming the arrow towards the werewolf. He could do it. It wouldn't be hard, just one arrow in the right place. He would do it. Shadow was too dangerous to keep around, whether it was because of his violent tendencies or because of what had occurred that night. He pulled back the arrow, carefully the arrow. He tried to release the wooden arrow but his arm wouldn't listen. Levi grimaced, trying once again. He had been ready to kill his cousin, so why couldn't he let this arrow fly? He dropped the bow and arrow, which dully thudded against the grass, and looked at the werewolf, narrowing his eyes as he tried to figure out why he had been ready to kill his own blood but not a werewolf that was sure to murder him at some point. Levi noticed he was panting, adrenaline wearing off as his body increased in aching. He was also sweating and shivering slightly and just plain exhausted. "Calm down, Shadow, or I'm going to put you to sleep." the blue blood said, though one could tell the night was getting to him. Grass stains were on his stolen clothing, which also had dirt on them, and a leaf or two were still in his hair, which was messier then usual. The only thing that did look normal were Levi's eyes, which were clear in their dark pinkish red color. Make you say

>Wolf< Shadow stopped in his tracks, glared up at Levi. He showed no recognition that the spell had made any visible effect on him. While he was prevented from moving, he showed no weakness, almost as if he would instantly move as soon as the spell dropped. It made little difference to him what the boy did, the outcome was all that was in his mind. Levi's death.
The bow and arrow dropped from the boy's hand, Shadow's eyes didn't follow. They continued to watch the boy's own eyes. It was almost machine-like the qualities that Shadow was showing right now. The next words that Levi spoke weren't even heard by the black wolf. If anything, the gaze grew more ominous and even more deadly.
Whether he was put to sleep or not, it seemed like Shadow would relentlessly pursue Levi until the prince drew his final breath. Levi was right in thinking Shadow was too dangerous to keep around... His mistake was in dropped the bow and arrow. Shadow wouldn't show the same restraint. He didn't even show it now, being held from moving by the collar around his neck.
Feral, wild, out of control. The only thing he knew was to kill. Until his hatred and anger faded, it remain this way. Even gazing upon Shadow made you question if the collar could really hold him or not, or if he was just waiting to attack on his own accord.
The answer to Levi's unspoken question was no. Shadow still wanted the prince dead.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi looked at Shadow, taking in the staring once again. The golden hues that watched him seemed to take in nothing without loosing their intelligence. Actually, it didn't seem that the wolf was even thinking anything at that moment besides his first thought before he began to run at the prince. The stare seemed to drop a few degrees, Levi looking back with his own somehow clear eyes. His head ached and his thoughts trailed off sometimes, though his raspberry colored orbs still remained as they had before he had even been put into drag earlier that night. He went to release the command against his better judgment until a movement to his left stopped him, gaze redirected from the deadly gaze of Shadow to his sister calmly walking. Her own little disguise was still in place, long hair hidden and such. Reno relaxed greatly as she saw her brother, only to freeze at the large wolf that wasn't much farther from her brother then she was. Her purple-pink eyes then looked over back at her brother, taking in the disgruntled look of him. Levi blinked owlishly at her, not sure whether he should run to her or yell at her. He didn't do either, standing there awkwardly as his sister did a walk-run over to him and hugged him tightly. "Jeez Levi, did you run off or something? I turned around and I couldn't see you anywhere! And who's your..." she started, releasing Levi from the painful hug and looking over at the wolf. She had probably seen him somewhere before, narrowing her eyes to get a better look at the inky black animal. No, she would have known is she had from the treasure-like golden eyes that still watched her little brother. Levi muttered the Sleep command, the Shadow crashing onto his side sound asleep with his stare finally done. "Reno --" the prince started before the Daikan princess held up her hand, gleam once again in her eyes.
~x~
Levi took a deep breath, exhausted once again. It had taken forever to get home, though no one would know they were gone except for that one evil lady in waiting that had helped Reno put him into drag. He sat in his own bedroom, a sleeping wolf in one corner of it as well. The blue blood looked at Shadow, wondering what the heck he was going to do when the werewolf woke. His sister had somehow gotten the heavy werewolf to the Palace with help from both her shadows and Loki, one of the best horses Levi had met. Actually, he was really only thinking that because that meant he hadn't had to raise a finger, which he doubted he could do. His multiple injuries had begun to show, bruises and cuts turning dark colors. A barrier was in place around the sleeping werewolf, making a box with only two real sides, walls, that were also re-enforced with the spell. Shadow, if standing in the center of the "cage", had three feet walking room in any direction. Levi sighed again, crawling into his bed that was safely far from the "cage" before promptly falling asleep somewhere around three in the morning. Make you say

>Wolf< At first, Shadow didn't notice the girl. He couldn't move, and his attention was directed elsewhere. Granted, even when she came into view and hugged Levi, his eyes didn't register her being there. His only thoughts were of Levi, as if he looked through his sister to see her brother.
All examination from the latter were ignored, all movements ignored. Even the movement of Levi's lips as he uttered the command to put Shadow to sleep. The spell hit him hard, his total focus on killing Levi distracting him all the way up until the spell made him slip away, anger following him into his sleep, but soon wearing off, taking a minute or two for his outward appearance to change back.
--
Shadow let out a deep breath. This sleep was a little harder to pinpoint. It didn't feel drug induced, there was no effect after he woke up. He didn't feel tired, he felt like he had had a perfect rest and was now waking up after it. This really confused the wolf, more than anything else that had happened to him that night and the day before.
Without his eyes open, he thought himself somewhere else completely. Perhaps his hidden corner in the shadows behind that one shop... No, since when was that place this comfy? He was used to that place by now, and it felt nothing like it. He couldn't feel the waves of the sun seeping through the back alley, keeping the temperature just the way he liked it early morning. No... The air was false, he felt like he was in a building.
His eyes slowly opened, confused first at his surroundings, and second trying to understand them. He could remember the tree, the prince, he could even remember Kenji appearing...but then... What happened after that? Try as he might, he couldn't remember it. It was if he hadn't even been there. It was wiped from his memory.
Partially on his side, he gazed up wearily from his paws. The walls were too ornate, the bed too well made, the air too filtered. He was in the prince's room. He didn't have to see who was in the bed to figure it out. He was also caged, he noted, his eyes drifting to either side of him. Magically enhanced. No way out through normal means.
He moved his neck slightly and laid his muzzle back on his paws again. The collar was still there. What did the prince want with him? Was it not obvious enough that he wanted the boy dead? What purpose did this serve, holding him here like a pet dog? If he had remembered what Kenji had said last before he disappeared, he would have had to agree with him. He was this little prince's pet.
Shadow considered his options, but couldn't come up with more than laying where he was or wandering around his cage aimlessly. He wasn't up to forcing the cage open. He doubted he could, and for once he didn't even want to bother trying it. He was weary and physically drained. He felt like he had run the equivalent of the distance to the nearest Lake, Trentania, and back several times over. His body didn't show the strain, but he felt it.
He heaved out a sigh from his chest, gazing over to the curtains by the window. It looked as if Levi didn't really care that the sun would shine through, too tired to put forward the effort to close them completely. That was fine with Shadow, at least he could get a little bit of normalcy and nature in this pristine and terribly artificial environment. He could also tell the time. It was hours after Levi himself had gone to sleep. Shadow couldn't know that, but from the quiet of the room, he could guess that Levi was in the middle of his sleep cycle. A little more toward the end though, Shadow could hear shifting.
Shadow twitched his ears and laid them down flat again. He'd have to get used to it for now. He was right in enemy territory. even if he got past Levi, he'd have the whole castle to deal with. He doubted they were on the first floor, the angle of the sun seemed off. There would be no jumping from the window then... Even he wasn't that strong. Cuts from the window, he'd probably turn over from the force to get through the window and then who knew what kind of ground they had outside the castle walls. He may as well be diving headfirst into concrete. Not even a werewolf could come off from that without some serious ramifications.
He'd have to stick with fiddling with his ears and tail for now. He'd have to wait at least another hour for the boy to wake up. He wasn't about to call a grouchy sleep-deprived Prince onto his tail when he couldn't do more than sit in this cage and take the verbal abuse. Another sigh, his tail idly flopping beside him. Once again he wondered why he had stepped out of that alleyway.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi shifted in his sleep, battered body not giving him many comfortable positions to rest in. He had fallen in a deep sleep though, having been exhausted from everything that had happened and staying up until such a late hour. His dreams changed often and were muffled, switching randomly from one to another. If asked, though, the blue blood wouldn't be able to recall any of these almost fever like dreams. His eyes flickered beneath his eyelids, fingers twitching slightly, as a violent dream passed over him for a few moments. The prince's raspberry eyes slowly opened as he turned onto his other side, sun shining into his face. He muttered a few incoherent words, wondering why the first thing he could feel was pain. He curled up into a tight ball, pulling the blanket up over his head. He had quickly gotten clean with the help of a certain lady in waiting who seemed to like she was a bit sorry about the girls clothing. Not so sorry that she hadn't scolded him for not bringing the clothes back though. He had seen most of the bruises he now bore, and most of them didn't seem so nice. His back, like he had guessed, was mostly a large bruise along with random places like his wrist, which was sprained after all. A white linen bandage tightly held his left wrist so as too not hurt the sprain, though he was sure the bow and arrows from last hadn't helped in the least. His dark pinkish red hues were opened, staring into the slight darkness of under his blanket. The prince hadn't been able to go back to sleep as he had wanted and slowly pulled down the blanket, colder air hitting him. He had been so tired as to fall asleep in mere trousers, without a shirt. His back was to the "cage", mind off of the night before. That is, until he heard the shuffling of something from that general direction. He looked over, turning his back away from the werewolf, and blinked in surprise. He had forgotten that his sister had set up the spell in his room. But this thing that surprised him the most was the fact that the werewolf seemed almost peaceful, as if the wolf had been replaced by someone else. Shadow's fur was no longer the inky black, back to his normal color, and his golden eyes had turned to the hazel. Levi watched him for a moment before sliding off of the bed and moving his way toward the "cage". What had happened to Shadow the night before? Something must have, seeing as he could clearly remember the unnerving stare. "Sorry about the spell...You were acting..." the prince trailed, releasing the spell of the "cage" that his sister had bought in town. He wasn't sure if the wolf would attack him or not, though he was too early in the stage of awakeness to care about the risk. "..rabid." he finished lamely as the spell totally fell away. "And sorry for kind of kidnapping you. My sister didn't think it was best to leave you there like that." he said, shivering slightly. Levi couldn't tell if it was from the chill of the stone walls or from the memory of those golden eyes staring at him with one motive. Make you say

>Wolf< The black wolf's hazel eyes followed the prince's movements in his bed, noting the bruise on the boy's back. He hadn't caused that... Not that badly. Although he wish he had. But...for right now, vengeance had no place. He was tired and not in a very good position to be enacting any kind of revenge. The boy covered himself with the blanket next, and Shadow prepared himself to wait even longer.
His ears perked up when he heard movement again, the prince had pulled the blanket back down again. The way in which he did it suggested he was going to get up, so Shadow raised his muzzle off his paws.
The prince seemed to have heard him, or perhaps remembered that he had kidnapped a werewolf. Who knew? The prince rolled over, gazing back at the wolf, his own eyes showing a bit of confusion. Either the prince was still half asleep or the prince had been pranked again. If he was going to bear the boy's presence...they had better work on that. He didn't know about the prince's sister yet...he had been otherwise preoccupied when she had appeared.
The wolf met Levi's gaze, waiting for the prince to get up, or do something besides stare at him. Lord knew Shadow couldn't do anything. He was trapped in a cage. As the prince slid off the bed, Shadow sat up, resting on his haunches. The next words Shadow held onto, waiting for the end of the line instead of being is usual self and rushing out of the cage the first moment the defenses were down.
...Rabid?... That brought back a memory of right before the fury had taken over. He had felt the anger, glaring at Levi's cousin...and then nothing... Did that have something to do with it?
Shadow blinked and brought himself back to the present again, moving to his feet as the spell fell away. He slowly moved out, watching the prince closely. It had to be a ruse. Why would the prince let him out? To see if he would attack? He would...but it would be suicide. He was sure the prince knew that... But maybe not.. Shadow realized that the prince might not be thinking so clearly due to being so newly awakened.
Again with the hint... What had exactly happened to him? His ears twitched. What could have made him appear so bad that this boy's sister didn't want to leave him alone? He wished he knew... But that was a thought for later times. His hazel eyes gazed up to the prince's own, taking a wide berth around the prince as he walked out of the cage. He wouldn't shift yet, he didn't feel up to it yet.
As Shadow took his next step, his front right leg partially gave way, and he quickly caught himself by putting all his weight on his left. All of a sudden he had felt dizzy...where had that come from? His attention wasn't on the prince any more, it was focused on his paw. He held it up and nosed it, licked it, nothing was wrong. No cuts, no bruises... What was going on?
For the first time since he had met the prince, his gaze was nervous as he looked back up at Levi.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowThe Daikan prince watched the Shadow acted much differently then he had before. Or perhaps it was because of the strangeness of this morning? Levi could relate to that. But still, last time the Wolf had been awake he had been also acting strangely. Maybe this was normal for him? No, the temper from when the sixteen year old had first met him was totally gone. It was like Shadow was slightly withdrawn. The prince took a glance around his overly large bedroom, wondering how to fill the almost awkward silence that had fallen. He didn't know what was going through the werewolf's head, though it seemed that he hadn't been far from the mark with his first guess on the behavior of the canine. He might have been weakened or subdued to the events or maybe even the room. Levi's unsprained hand reached up to fix his hair, or really to just have something to do. His thoughts wandered again to his cousin for, without him knowing or remembering, that last dream had been about Kenji. He had seemed so sure that he would be back around, even with such injuries. The prince hadn't had time to tell his parents, or even his sister for that matter, about what had happened last night. He had just been so tired. Though, how was he supposed to tell his parents without letting them know the fact that he (and Reno) had snuck out? Neither of them had even guessed to the constant nightly outings from his sister. Perhaps they were oblivious? Or maybe -- Levi didn't really want to think about it -- they didn't care? They wouldn't take it lightly though, especially to the danger to the person who was heir to the throne. Then again, it wasn't like he was perfectly safe right then either. Shadow was dangerous, which he had seen many times, and the prince was almost sure he wouldn't have time to use any of the commands on the collar if something had happened. But something about the way the werewolf had just been sitting there, calm, and the fact he was still half asleep left him where he could care less. Worst to come, Riatha would be heir and if anyone ever saw the werewolf they would kill on sight. He yawned lightly, rubbing one eye almost childishly as he watched the wolf as he took steps from where the "cage" had been. Levi was slightly surprised once again as Shadow didn't dash at some sort of exit or even to harm him. In fact, the wolf was giving him quite a wide space. Levi started to reach out to help the werewolf's balance but didn't, retracting his hand carefully. "Did you get hurt too? I don't remember it..." the prince said, though it could have happened he didn't have memories of some parts, due to the hit on the head. It wasn't too serious, though he had to be careful not to hurt his head again for a little while. Levi sat down onto the floor, wondering what had happened to Shadow. It had been almost as if his paw had been sprained as well. Make you say

>Wolf< Shadow thought about it, but he wasn't hurt. That much he tell almost immediately. He didn't feel hurt. The weakness didn't feel physical, like he had lost his balance, it was random, and hit him much harder and much faster, and just as quickly went away. It could even have been magical... But that made no sense. Shadow couldn't cast magic, there was no reason he should have had to deal with magical consequences.
His eyes narrowed as he glanced up at Levi again, but not... He didn't think that the boy could have done it. The boy was half asleep. That mean it could only be something with Shadow, but what?
He put his paw down again, trying to see if anything changed. He put a testing pressure on his right paw, but there was no hint of the weakness. He tried walking back and forth for a moment, his gaze lowered to his paws, watching to see if any strange happened.
He was just about to finish the third mini-lap, which ended by Roxi's feet, when it hit him again, this time much harder. The Wolf stumbled, feeling as though each of his paws had been simultaneously been knocked out from underneath him. He couldn't tell what Levi did, his vision went with the weakness, the feeling lashing all the way through his body. He felt numb, he couldn't move.
It lasted only a few moments, but it was enough to throw Shadow into a little bit of a panic. His mind rapidly searched his body, but could find no cause of the sudden loss of control. But there had to be something... There had to be... It unnerved Shadow that he was fighting something he couldn't see... Was he even fighting? How could he? It was his own body, giving into something that he couldn't even begin to understand.
His eyes searched for Levi, hoping that the questioning look in his eyes would somehow get Levi to magically produce the problem and the solution to what was happening to him. It was a false hope...but Shadow needed something right now. He was no longer his strong self... He was almost like a puppy...frightened afraid...his body was doing things it had never done in his entire lifetime... It was if everything he had ever learned and taught himself was wrong.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi sat with his back leaning on his bed and one of his knees to his chest while the other was stretched out in front of him. It wasn't that comfortable, with the bruise along his whole back and all, but he didn't feel like moving. He watched as Shadow glanced up at him, raising his eyebrow in response. While the injury may have been magical, the prince wouldn't have been able to cause it. His magic was home to magic -- and lots of it -- and it leaked from his body relentlessly, making flowers react the way they did towards the him. He couldn't find a way to "plug" the magic, though it couldn't be the cause of this. His magic seemed to only appeal to plants, not animals or other beings. The blue blood blinked as Shadow put the paw back down, which was suddenly repaired. Or maybe it had just been a sore spot? After all, one couldn't see a bruise under the dark pelt. The wolf started to walk and Levi zoned out as he finally began to fully awaken. But it wasn't like he had anything to do today, expect find out what was going to happen with the werewolf now. As Levi watched the canine walk slowly, testing, he wondered what he could do. After all, would he just release him? The trail of thought was quickly interrupted as Shadow neared him again. Levi couldn't just keep him there or something. He would promptly release the werewolf once everything checked out well. Levi's eyes widened as said wolf stumbled heavily. The Daikan prince's hand flew out to help him instantly though he withdrew them once again as Shadow became balanced once again. It wasn't until his hands were halfway between the both of them that the canine looked to the prince, eyes a mix of questioning and fright. Levi's dark orbs softened and his hands made their way to Shadow, touching the wolf for the first time. His fur was, strangely even through last night's event, kind of soft and coal colored. He meant it as a comforting gesture, hoping to help the wolf. The prince opened his mouth to say something but the door opened, a servant looking in. He raised an eyebrow at the wolf but kept his mouth shut about it. One of the servants that didn't really care for the prince or princesses. "Prince Carlington, your presence has been requested in the northern garden by your parents. They say they have a slightly surprise for you, in the form of a guest." the servant said, having walking into the room but making a point to stay away from the pair. A slight tone of disgust, perhaps at the werewolf or the blue blood, snuck into his expression as he bowed before leaving, closing the door quickly. Levi blinked, hands frozen on the wolf's pelt. A guest? Something dark and heavy settled into the pit of his stomach, the look on his face showing that he had a bad -- if not horrid -- feeling about this. Make you say

>Wolf< If Shadow had been in his right mind...or well, his 'normal' mind, he probably snapped Levi's hands off right then and there... As it was, he was slightly more subdued. He actually endured Levi's touch with an ease of mind, as if that frightened puppy had someone who cared for him in the world. (Past transgressions and slaughtering aside)
Shadow didn't look to the door as it opened, he merely continued to try and get some semblance of self control back. He didn't know how to stop what was happening and it freaked him out... but that didn't mean he would quit trying to stop it.
However, he did hear the servant at the door. A guest... Not that unusual. Why it was a surprise pricked Shadow inter-... His thoughts stopped. Levi's hands froze on his fur. Shadow's gaze slowly made its way up the the prince's eyes. What he saw there took his already worried and stressed mood to a new level. He was dropping down to Levi's level. He was scared himself. Shadow was NEVER afraid... It just showed how bad the magic was getting to him.
Shadow's thoughts digressed into that of a harmless puppy, worried about their master. The beast was still there, ready to kill, but it was suppressed for now, completely, and replaced with something else.
The dark wolf watched Levi's eyes for a moment before reaching forward with his muzzle and nuzzling the prince's cheek, trying to draw Levi out of his fears again, whining quietly.
No...nothing was as it had seemed.

swaying to my own sound Flashes in my face nowLevi blinked, wondering if maybe it was just everything from last night was hitting him. After all, the worst thing it could be was a marriage proposal. Those hadn't really started yet, though, so what could it be really? The prince chewed on his bottom lip, which looked as if it was going to start bleeding from all the abuse. He opened his mouth once again to explain what was going to happen to Shadow when he was cut off again by something even stranger then the guest so early in the morning. The werewolf was looking at him, fright unnervingly clear in the hazel eyes. The prince stared right back, unblinking as the wolf lifted his muzzle and began to nuzzle the Daikan's cheek in a comforting gesture. The wolf then began to whine quietly, just like a puppy would act towards an owner. Levi blinked, torn between accepting the gestures or shoving them away. He did something in between, gently pushing the wolf away while looking at him. What had gotten into Shadow? Just last night he had almost killed not only the sixteen year old he was just nuzzling, but Kenji as well. And he had killed two men. The prince stared at the wolf for a few moments longer, wondering if this was a trap or not. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and stood. He had no time for this kind of stuff. If his parents didn't see him soon they would suspect something. Unlike Reno, Levi usually got up early to walk the gardens at the order of his mother to make the plants stay healthy. He went over to the clothes a random servant had probably set out and pulled the shirt over his bruised back and chilled skin. His dark pink eyes felt the urge to look over at the werewolf but he didn't, continuing to get dressed and out of his sleeping clothes. His mind flittered through random ideas of who the guest would be, but the knot in his stomach wouldn't disappear like he wanted. What was gonna happen? He was going to be forced into a relationship? He chided himself for being stupidly worried. It wasn't like Reno had been sold off yet, so he didn't have to worry about such petty things. As he finished dressing his hues looked over his shoulder at the werewolf. "Alright, what am I supposed to do with you, Shadow? I can't just bring a full grown wolf -- who's actually a werewolf -- down with me without explanation." Levi said, hoping that Shadow was feeling better by this point. It would be even stranger for him to bring down a full grown wolf that was acting like a puppy. That, and the fact that the behavior was kind of creepy to Levi, who was used the violent, normal Shadow by this point.
