Reiga laughed ignoring the question about what he did to the last person that had form a contract with him. The kid did not need to know what he meant. After the deals he had with other masters was not something he was obliged to answer. The kid would have to find it out himself. That was if he could find anything. It has had been a long time since he had met that female. He held Sora tighter as he prepared the modified spell. it would take a few moments before he had to cast it. For now he was stuck in the graveyard of death.
He looked at the kid and said nothing, There was no way he was going to tell him that there was still an argument on who was going to claim the kids soul upon death. He wanted the soul and he was not will to share it, but the problem was that others under the contract said that they have more of a claim. He was going to let the kid find out about that later. "If I kill you while under a contract I will not be able to return to this place for a hundred years. Do know know how boring it is being in the same place every day. I can not stand it. So I would prefer that you die any other way." Yet another lie. What did the kid expect he was dealing with a demon that had a more deceitful nature than most. There was no such rule like that, but the kid did not need to know. But he was telling the truth that he had been starting to get bored of being in the same place all the time. Bothering Sora was one of the more amusing parts of his day.
The wind picked up and he looked on the ground and saw the spell ready. He mutter the name of the nearby village and they were swallowed up by the spell. Reiga held onto the kid making sure that his grip was not to tight. Just in case there was a way to accidentally lose him. However no so gust occurred and next thing Reiga could see was the village. The spell modification had worked all that remained was to make their way towards the village. He started to walk forward not caring if the kid even noticed that they were starting to move again. They were close to his goal line and that was what was important to him. "Look kid, we are almost there."

It bothered Sora that Reiga hadn't answered his question about the demon's old master. The way he had said it had been creepy to begin with, so it creeped the summoner out further when no answer was said. But the blond didn't try to push and fell silent once again, thoughts distracting him to no end as the stench of blood and death circled around the pair. The summoner would probably smell a little like death until he could rest and clean off.
What was in his blood? Obviously, human and neko, coming partly from his mother and the last part coming from his father. But if he mother had been a mutt, then what had she been mixed with? When Sora used to ask, his mother used to smile and shake her head, like it was a secret. Then his father would pop out of nowhere and distract the summoner, though he wouldn't realize that fact until later when he had totally forgotten what he had really wanted to ask.
Sora, sadly, didn't know a lot about demons. Just that after performing and sealing a contract, he was free to command the demon "servant" and could summon them easily. So for all the summoner knew, the fake rule spoken by Reiga was true. The blond's eyes widened as large as moons when the spell engulfed them before squuezing shut. For odd reasons, the blond didn't like other people's magic very much. Even his mother's old magic had repelled the male. When Regia spoke, Sora opened his eyes and saw them not to be too far from the village. He let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding as they moved forward. A strange silence came from the male as a bad feeling settled into the pit of his stomach.
Well, it couldn't be that bad of a village.

Reiga walked but he could feel that the spell had taken more out of him than he had expected. After all he had never done such a thing before. Taking two people through such a method required much more magic than it did one. Not that it mattered since he had already completed the spell. He made a note not to do something like that in the future. It was to risky and he was not a risk taker by nature. He preferred to survive over getting injured and dieing. He looked at the village they were close. It would be a matter of minutes before they could enter and get medical attention. Every step was another step closer to going back home and finishing the book.
"I don't need to remind you, but you are not to admit that I am a demon. I have enough problems as it is with humans and their feelings for demons. They are nothing like yours." He smiled as he said that. He had no desire to cause trouble in the village and it would happen if they found out he was a demon. People had bad opinion about demons. Which are perfectly sound. After all he was not above terrorizing a village when he was bored. However he was not bored right now, so he had desire to do so. He was coming just to ditch the kid.
As the entered the two he could feel the stares he was getting from the others. Something he expected since they were strangers. However when the people just continued to look he knew that something was wrong. They had only entered this village and he could see something was wrong. However he had no idea what it was. So until he found out he need Sora to be taken care of. "My friend here injured himself. Is there anyone here that can help. We just want medical attention and we will leave. I can even pay you if you want." He hoped someone would come out and take Sora from him and heal his wound. It would be nice to have a healer tend to the wound, but even having it bandaged would he the fine. He just hoped that Sora would keep up his end of the deal and not say anything about him being a demon. He did not want to set these people off.

Sora held back the urge ot laugh at the irony of Reiga lying that he was his friend. Even if they got along sometimes, the summoner was certain that they couldn't ever really become friends. Maybe, if they had met in some other way and the blond hadn't been the same person. Alright, nevermind. The younger of the two frowned slightly, wondering why the village gave him slight goosebumps.
Instead of looking away after a while, the villagers stared mostly. And what really creeped Sora was that the only young child in sight were peering out from windows or doorways into houses. After a few moments, a few people came forward, a forced smile on most of their faces. Sora didn't really like the fact that they were probably going to be the ones to treat to him. But it wasn't like the summoner and Reiga could just wander back out of the village. It would be much too much work for both the demon and the mixed blood.
"We'll take your friend to someone that can help." one of the people from the same group. Sora, for once, didn't want to leave Reiga suddenly. Instead he felt like hitting himself while carefully moving to let go of the demon and take hold of one of the villagers that were going to take him to their healer or something. The summoner was slowly led into one of the nearby houses, one without children peering out of the windows. Sora was set down on a cot in a backroom and left, wondering who the healer of this village was.
A different person approached Reiga, having narrowed eyes. She stopped in front of the demon, a few swords at her waist. "Why have you come here, Demon? It is had to mask your true essence with such eyes. Now that you've come here, I'm afriad to say you must perish." the woman spoke in a powerful voice and was obviously the leader here. She withdrew one of her swords and ,without another word, charged at the demon in front of her.

Reiga watched Sora get taken by another to get treated. He would have liked to take it himself but he doubted the rest of the village would let him. After all their behavior was not normal at all. Something was wrong here and then he sensed it. He could sense remnants of demons. Well it was more of a feeling that he was not used to getting while away from home. He was sure that it was due to demons. The only problem was that he sensed no demons themselves. Something was definitely wrong. He needed to leave now and check up on Sora later. He had no desire to fight at the moment. The only other option was to leave. That was until he was approached by another person.
He barely managed to pull out a card and summon it before the attack happened. However he swore mentally when he saw that he was using a steel wire. He was going to have to improvise until he had time to draw a weapon out. He wrapped the weapon around the blade defecting the intended target. He was making sure he remained in the defensive position. He had no idea why they wanted to kill him and he did not want to go all out yet. He stepped aside and sighed. Why were they so quick to attack creatures that showed no signs of aggression. Sure he was a demon, but he for the first time in a long time was not the first one to make a move. What happened to trying to talk things out before resorting to violence.
"Well that was uninvited. All I did was bring my friend to get help and get attacked. Do I look like a treat to your city. I'm just a single demon travelling with another creature. And yet you attack me trying to kill me. You don't even ask my name." He was stalling for time until he figured out why this place had so many remnants around and what happened to the demons. He released the blade and grabbed one that was on the females waist. It would do for now. He did not feel like looking for the right weapon right now.
A female entered the room locked the entrance to the house. She made her way to sora. She looked like she was in her twenties and had cat ears and a tail. She was the town's healer. She smiled at him and she got closer. "Thank goodness they separated you from the demon. We did not want you ending up like the other children. Taken by the demons and have yet to be found. THough it was pretty brave of him just to waltz into the city." She took a seat and sat beside Sora. Behind her one could see pictures of her with a younger sibling and yet there was no signs of a child in this house. "What happens to be your problem. I saw you having trouble walking." She was completely focused on tending to Sora and not about the demon that was still in the streets outside.

Sora was slightly relieved to see the healer have a kind manner. Maybe the feeling in his stomach had been for nothing. Yeah, Reiga hadn't probably either already left or was waiting elsewhere. But the summoner still didn't really like the village or its people and found himself tensing as the healer sat down. Wait, what had she just said about a demon? The healer seemed as if Reiga was some sort of threat. No, he wouldn't do anything to the village for no apparent reason.
"What's wrong with being a demon?" Sora said, knowing he was treading a careful line. He was a Summoner, able to call and ally with demons. And the village could easily blame the act of kidnapping on the summoner, though they had no proof. "Don't worry about my friend. He won't hurt any of you, trust me." the blond finished, a smile on his lips.
Ever so carefully, Sora moved his leg and lifted his pants leg so she could see the dark purple and swelling ankle. He winced lightly, lip bitten as he realized that he didn't really know how bad it was internally. Though the summoner hoped for just some healer's lotion and bandages, he just didn't know. A clanging noise raised the blond's eyes to the wall that blocked his sight to the outside. "What's going on out there?"

The leader glared at the demon with venom in her eyes. Many children had been taken from the village, including her own son. He was only three years old and his mother could only be horrorfied at what might be happening to him. The village had already sent their best trackers yet no word had returned. For all they knew, the trackers could have been taken as well by now.
"Your kind doesn't deserve to be asked for their name. Our children were taken by your kind! I wish you to leave at once or I won't hesitate to kill you where you stand." the village leader spoke, power in her voice. She wouldn't allow such a thing in her village. "Now make your choice!" she finished, postioning herself into an offfense stance, glaring at the demon once more.

Reiga lifted his hands showing he meant no harm for now. However he was bothered. He had never heard of demons collecting children. He had heard one or two taken for fun to see how the parents worried, but on a large scale. It just did not seem right. What made it worse was that the villagers here thought that all demons were part of this situation, which was as far from the truth as it could be. He needed to convince them that he meant no harm. However he first had to gain their trust. After all he wanted to know what demon was causing all of this trouble. He dropped the sword he had acquired and showed that he was carrying no other weapons. He even returned the steel wire to its card and slid it away.
"I can not leave until my friend is healed, however if you want you can lock me up until you see that I am not involved in this mess." He pointed to the cage that they had out in the streets. How convent for the demon that was trying to prove that he was innocent in this case. He did not mind being in the cell as long as they did not take his cards away from him. With his cards he could easily escape, but without them he was stuck until they believed him. He was confident that he could defeat the leader, but then he had to defeat the rest of the village and he was not sure he could take them all out with out getting seriously injured himself. "What do you to loose. Best case after a few days I admit to the crime I have not committed or you find out that I am not involved and the disappearances continue. And just so you know, I have no interests in children. Their souls are to pour for my tastes."
The healer continued to smile gently as she tended to the wound. She gently examined it not wanting to harm the kid anymore then he already was. When she was satisfied she got and made her way to the medicine cabinet. "Don't you know that demons make contracts with living creatures and then take their souls. while others say they do it so that they could feel the emotions that they themselves are unable to feel. Either way they are dangerous. For all we know the one you are with is responsible to taking away many of the children in this village." She pulled out a lotion and some bandages. She sat down again and put the leg on her lap. "You are quite lucky for a kid. Though your leg is purple there is no serious bleeding. Most of it had stopped." She gently applied the lotion and then wrapped up the bandage.
She gently placed the leg down finished all that she could do. "Keep your walking to a minimum until it is healed. If you stress it you will aggravate it and it will take longer to heal." He put the lotion away and placed a pot of water on the fire she had going in her house. "Would you like some tea? It might take some time before the leader says it is safe to go outside." She pulled out a pouch containing tea leaves and two cups in case Sora wanted some. "My name is Sarah, what is yours?" She knew that she had to keep him busy so he did not find out what was happening the to demon outside.

Sora looked at the healer calmly, shock running trough his body. Demons...took their Master's soul? What would happen to him when he passed away? His soul wouldn't been taken to wherever it would deserve to go. Would his soul just die after being taken? The statement, ever so calmly said, made the summoner feel sick again. Though he swallowed his rising bile and acted normal as she took care of his injury. He didn't hear her words about his ankle, deep in thought.
When the healer finished Sora was finally freed from his thoughts and nodded, hoping the tea would help calm him down. His skin had goosebumps again and he willed them away, not wishing to seem upset or look like he reacted to her words. "What do you mean safe? What's going on outside?" he asked shakily, feeling in his stomach growing ever so slowly. And even though the healer gave him her name he didn't return the favor, instead leveled his attention towards her, wanting to know what was happening. Was the village being attacked?

The village's leader looked at the demon, wondering whether to lock him in the cage or not. After a few long moments, she nodded and made her way over to the cage, not daring put away the sword. Her free hand's index finger began a key and she unlocked the metal cage, hand returning to normal before she opened the front of the cage. It was medium sized, taller then a normal person by a foot or two but four square feet in floor space.
She held the "door" open and waited for the demon step inside before she would retreive one of her many swords and would place both in their sheathes. "Your friend will be healed within a few days. The disappearences happen nightly, so we shall know if it is you soon enough. No children have been taken tonight so far." the leader stated, a hidden tint to her voice. It was one of sadness.

Reiga held back a smile since she had not thought to check personally if he had any weapons in him. Which meant he would keep his cards and therefore all of his weapons. It would not take long for him to break out and get away if the need arose. He made his way to the cage and looked it. It was very tight and it looked like he was going to have to stand. He was going to have to rethink his escape plan. There was no where near enough room to maneuver enough to summon a weapon that could break the cell apart. He looked at the woman and then at the cage. "Don't you have a larger one I can use. This seems a little cramped." Of course he could not see another cage, but he wanted to ask anyway. She did not look like the type to want to make him comfortable.
He entered the cage without another word and leaned back against some of the bars. He was stuck here until the sun came up. He wondered what to do this whole time. He did not want to sleep just in case the leader decided to kill him instead of waiting until he was proven to be innocent. He sighed and wonder if this was a case of guilty until proven innocent. "You better let me out when you find out that I am not the one responsible for this." Worst case he could just teleport back home and leave Sora to these people. He should be able to fend for himself even while injured.
Sarah placed tea leaves in each of the cups as the water began to boil. Unbeknown to Sora she had slipped some drugs into his tea leaves that would make him fall asleep when he drank the tea. She could not let this kid convince the others that the demon that had come with him was not the one that was causing the problems. She poured the boiled water into the cups and handed Sora the cup with the drugs in it. She then took hers and sat down beside Sora. "Lately at night a demon had been stealing the children so when the sun sets we all stay at home protecting the remaining children. Unfortunately it still does not help. A child gets taken every night." She took a sip of her cup and held it in her hands. She had seen the faces of all the people that lost their children. "They think your friend is responsible, but as long as he does not do anything stupid he should be fine."

Sora stayed quiet, wondering what kind of demon would do such a thing. All demons that he had met and contracted with in the past stayed away from children, so why was one collecting them? The summoner took the tea and drank it carefully, thoughts running through his head. What was going on in this village? Wouldn't they have been able to see the demon if all the child were being watched? It wasn't like they could literally disappear before their eyes. And only one child per night?
Sora's eyelids grew heavy for some reason and his mind became fogged. Why was he so tired? He looked over at the healer, wondering if it had been her doing. Had be been drugged so suddenly? Against his will, the cup dropped to the ground with a small crash, pieces of the cup everywhere while the liquid went through the floor slowly. His eyes fluttered closed and body fell back onto the cot. He really was weak. Sora couldn't even tell if something was posion, drugged, or whatever had just happened. And then his spirit was put to rest, darkness engulfing the male.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
The leader eyed the demon carefully before entering behind. She took out two pairs of handcuffs and took each of his wrists, handcuffing each one to one of the bars in front of the demon. "If your found innocent, I'll be sure to let you out." the leader said tiredly, small bags under her eyes. It had been a while since she had had a good sleep and usually it was haunted by nightmares or someone would need and wake her.
When the small chore was done, the leader stepped from the cage and closed the "door". Her finger changed into a key again and she locked it before stepping away, looking at the demon once more. The leader got onto all fours before something very strange happened. A moment later a wolf with light fur stood before the cafe. She sat before laying on the ground, back to the caged demon as her perked ears waited for someone to disappear.

Reiga looked at the leader now turned wolf and sighed. It was not going to be an easy night at all. He moved his hands to see how much room he had with the cuffs on. It was not a lot. He could reach only two cards and those were the ones in his sleeves. Both useless in this case. He was beginning to regret choosing not to fight. He closed his eyes and focused on his surroundings. He hoped that he could sense the demon when it arrived and therefore be able to stop what ever was going to happen. For now he felt nothing and so he had nothing to do. Well apart from talk to the wolf right in front of him. And he doubted she would listen to what he was saying.
He took a deep breath in. "I wonder what the kid would say if he saw me like this. He would never let me live it down. Hasn't he embarrassed me enough already. He tricks me into a contract and then uses me for petty things. He even refuses to give me orders. It does not matter as long as I get his soul." That was when it hit him. A soul. Someone was gathering the souls of innocents for some sort of summoning, but he did not know what it was for. He leaned forward and looked down at the wolf. "Quick, how many kids have been taken." He had no time to explain. He needed to know how much time there was left before they had enough souls and the ritual started. There was still some time to stop it. However, he needed to get out first.
Sarah made her way to Sora and smiled at him. He may not be a child but he still would work. After all the demon had said that any should would work, but children's were the best. She pulled out a rope and proceeded to tie the unconscious boy up. She did not want him free to move around just in case he woke up and tried to fight back. He then cleaned up the mess on the floor. She did not want the demon to see the mess when he arrived. She walked to the door and unlocked it. She looked at the picture of her brother and smiled. "We will be together soon brother. I promise." He then opened the back door to her house. "I got another one for you demon. Come and take it to the normal place."
She then returned to the room with Sora and pitied him. He was not going to see his friend again and he was going to be what she needed to bring back her brother. She was not going to kill him, but use the body to summon her brother's into it. It would be perfect. He sat down on her seat and waited for her partner in crime to show up.

The leader's ears perked up as she looked at the caged demon. Her son, the twins of the Fitz household, a child from the Seto house, three siblings from the Hanami house, the list went on. "A total of twelve, not including the one that shall be taken tonight. Why? What do you know of?" the wolf asked, head raised and looking back at the demon.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Jaden appeared in the house's back room, stepping from a blood red portal before it closed. He had silver hair that went to the small of his back, being tied into a braid, along with dark yellow eyes with slits instead of pupils. Small fangs came over his bottom lip and appeared as sharp as a vampire's. On the demon's back, protruding from the black clothing as well, were white leather batlike wings.
One look around told Jaden that this boy was his thirteenth sacrifice and vessel for the new spirit. He smiled at the healer, pleased with the able body. Once the boy's soul was taken and the new one was put in the small wound on the vessel's akle woud heal quite quickly. But it wasn't like he really was going to put this pathetic woman's brother's soul into this vessel. No, instead he would use it to summon a powerful demon to break the balance of darkness and light in this land. Something that Jaden would watch with the glee of a child.
Without as much as a word, the demon took out white chalk and drew a summoning circle, a task he was quite praticed in. Many old runes and symbols were drawn on the floor along with words and shapes. When the task was done, Jaden stood back and admired his work for a moment before giving the healer a wicked smile. "It is finished and now we shall start. Move the human child over here and lay him in front of me. Your brother will be joining us soon." the demon instructed after moving into the center of the circle. Soon the land of XISIN would fall.

"You have to let me out. It is going to happen tonight. They are going to sacrifice your kid to summon something that should not be summoned. If you let me out we can still stop it." He was concerned. Not for the children, not for the wolf in front of him, not even for Sora. He was concerned for himself. If what he thought they were summoning was true then they were in trouble. He needed to get out. His desire for self preservation was higher then the average demons. He could not let this creature get summoned. "You can follow me and see that I speak the truth, but if you do not hurry up then they will die. Do you want those children's souls to disappear forever?" He hoped that the leader understood what he meant. She could not have her doubting him right now.
Then he felt the presence of the demon it was faint, but there. There was a demon in the village and it was going to take the last thing it needed to complete the summoning. He cursed himself for having so little strength. For once he wished he had the same strength as other demons. He could have broken out so easily and not have to convince the walk leader that was in front of him that he was trying to help now.
Sarah nodded and picked up Sora's body. It was heavier then she thought and she had some difficulty carrying it to the circle. She was going to see her brother again. She was so happy that she had encountered the demon after her brother's death. If it was not for him she would have wanted to die, but he had given her hope that she had lost. If she could have her brother again then they could be a family and live together. She had no idea that she was getting tricked by the demon. After all she had sold her soul for this chance. She was not going to let it slip away. She gently placed Sora's body in front of the demon and looked at him for a second before she stepped back.
"You remember our deal right. My brother and you get my soul when I die." She stood outside the circle not wanting to be within it. "What about the other children. What do I do with them?" She wanted to know whether to bring them out or the demon would take their souls to seal her brothers soul into a body that was not his to being with.

The wolf looked at the demon, unsure whether to believe him. The side of her that was a mother won and she returned to a human's shape. Even her swords were back exactly like they had been, as if she had always been a human. Her finger changed into a key again nd she unlocked the cage's "door". Even if the demon was lying, there was a chance tat she could get her son back and she would take it. She started working on the handcuffs quickly and then stepped from the cage, ready to follow the demon.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Jaden smiled as the demon studied the body placed down at his feet. Even though it appeared human, it carried quite strange scent. His smile grew larger as he realized why. A mixed blood would be perfect to use. "I know, I know. Your brother will be here quite soon so don't fret." the demon lied smoothly, wings now folded against his back carefully. He was only one step away from summoning the creature.
"Leave them where they lay. My trance should still be in place and their souls will be called to me in only a moment." Jaden said, smiling still. This was much too easy. He grimaced for a moment, picking up the scent of another demon weakly. Though it wouldn't bother him. So Jaden bowed his head lightly, the calk drawn circle beginning to glow. Moments later, twelve spheres of white light appeared, the souls of the children having come.
Jaden smiled even more as a ball of light came from the boy in front of his feet. Though this soul was touched by demons, having a black color. The demon grimaced, wondering if the demon he had smelt earlier had anything to do with the boy. All but the tainted soul disappeared into the circle. The thirteenth soul wasn't needed, but the body was. The soul hung in the air as an awful aura started to come from the body.
And then the body's eyes snapped open, the creature now inside of it.

The second Reiga was freed from his cage he ran towards the location of the demon. He stopped when he saw what house it was coming from. It was where they had taken the kid. Things had now gone from bad to worse. Out of all places they had to go where the kid had been taken. This demon had gone to far. He clenched his fist. They only person allowed to put the kid in danger was him and he would not forgive anyone else for doing so. "The cause of all this pain is in here. If I find out any of your villagers are responsible for this I will kill them." He had already decided that Sora was in danger and until he saw otherwise he was not going to change his mind.
He broke open the door and made his way to where the three of them were. What he saw made him turn into his demon form out of anger. The sight of Sora's soul out side of his body was not something he had wanted to see. He was going to put his soul back into his living body when he saw that it was occupied. He had one choice if he wanted to save it. He pulled out a card. Unlike the others this one was red instead of the normal black. He summoned the item and out came a doll. He grabbed Sora's soul and placed it within the body. The container should be able to hold the soul for some time. He then turned to the demon. "Return my masters body back to the way it was or face my wrath" He was indeed angry.
Sarah watched and said nothing. She was going to have her brother back soon. That was all that mattered to her. When the ritual was complete she did not notice the smell coming from the body. Sh did not know the demon had betrayed her. She made her way over to the body and smiled at it when it opened its eyes. "Welcome back brother. I kept my promise to you." She was so focused that it was her brother that she had not even noticed Reiga com in and threaten them for what they had done. She went to hug her brother wanting to embrace him after so long.
